SF Message Dump - Hyperwave22 - 10-26-2007

Transmit to: All SF Personnel; Admiral Firebird
Comm ID: Commodore Hyperwave

After reviewing the schedules of ships under my command, it has been determined that I can send a fighter unit lead by our fine Jemma O'Hara on her ship SFF-Thames. If circumstances call for additional help, a different group may be sent in.

In addition to leading her own fighter group, O'Hara has offered to oversee the operations of the BAF and/or BPA if no more suitable other is available.

No foolish' tricks, now. I got me some escorts. You pick the time and place. We'll leave yer little dope-smokin' Doc alone.

Situation Report: SFB-BETA1 (currently flying a Templar)
Proceeded to Leeds upon reports of an NLH sighting. Turned out to be the same Raven's Talon reported earlier by the Relentless. With the assistance of the Mandalorians the vessel was engaged and quickly destroyed. Again no escape pod was found.

Situation Report: SFF-FIREBIRD
Found an armored transport carrying artifacts through Cambridge. Caught up to the vessel at New London where the subject initially refused to stop. Blaming faulty scanners, the vessel wasn't sure about my ID...one would think having a BAF tag and informing him about contraband would be enough identification. Once having confirmed my identity the vessel (after several klicks and threatening to destroy his vessel) he finally complied and jettisoned his cargo which was consequently destroyed.
Added...
Received distress calls from SFGB-KING'S_LYNN in Omega-5, got in too deep with the LDDLG. Engaged by a taiidain bomber, a corsair gunboat and an Order fighter. I arrived in time to distract the enemy while the crew of the King's Lynn were evacuated back to Cambridge. Engaging the bomber first, I succeeded in destroying the vessel leaving only the gunboat and Order fighter. Dodging the gunboat, I focussed on the fighter until a passing ion storm managed to cover my escape back to Cambridge (lagged out). The LDDLG with some unattached Corsair allies later entered Cambridge and taxed a trader enroute to Omega-5. With the assistance of a Mandalorian bomber, the Corsairs decided to retreat back to Omega-5 after collecting their tax. Pursuit was attempted but our Mandalorian friend appeared to have been caught by the same ion storm that got me (lagged out or real-life:unsure:). Outnumbered in Corsair space, I returned to Cambridge to repair my ship.

Situation Report: SFT-NOMADIC
Nothing too eventful, although a large number of hostiles were sighted in New Berlin along our route. Also encountered a Corsair dubbed "nathan_scott" engaged by a police-affiliated ship "joe_somebody". The Corsair choose to take a run at us but quickly found that this nut would be too hard to crack with an officer breathing down his neck and with no shields. The Corsair left the area with "joe_somebody" giving chase. An arrest warrant has been issued by the BPA for the Corsair as he was found earlier in Bretonian space and consequently destroyed by the SFGB-KING'S_LYNN. Several civilian, BPA, and BAF personnel were rescued in that incident.

O'Hara should do nicely for the assignment, which new intel suggests has been pushed back by a week. If available either SFF-GRYPHON or SFGB-RELENTLESS will be present to assist in the operation.

Pleased to announce another new addition to the SF membership as well as the formal announcement on the return of another (forgot to write the post for this one). Welcome sdssn!p3r and Wedge_Antilles to our ranks. SFF-WEDGE will be assisting in the defense of Bretonia's central systems while SFF-Salvatore will be assisting with the border patrols and repelling the Kusari from Leeds and Planet Harris. As customary feel free to visit the Cambridge Research Station bar for a round on the admiralty.

Cheers.

Administrative announcement, the impound orders for smuggling vessels has been modified instead to a fining system. Vessels on first offense can be assessed a fine of $2 million and will have their cargo confiscated/destroyed or when suitable delivered to the nearest controlled port (refering to lights arms which are needed for the war, civilians, etc). Once reported the ship will be listed as a known smuggler and subsequent infractions can be assigned larger fines (largest fine issued will be listed by the ship's name along with the number of noted infractions).

Apologies in the delay of our reply, took time to confirm the holding of these officers given I've yet to receive a report of a single SF loss to your forces, while a Gaian gunboat and 2 NLH fighters have been destroyed. What are your intentions with the hostages?
Killing them would be ill advised as that would be sending the wrong message, you've already supposedly destroyed their ships now you intend to what...terrorize their families into wondering if they'll return home? Force the Bretonian government to make changes at gunpoint? The SF will not conduct negotiations on those terms. That door opens even once it'll never be closed again. If such hostages do exist, I'd advise their safe return. Kill them and what sympathy you had in the Bretonian government goes out the door. You're out to send a message...you're not sending the right one.

Consider your actions, return the officers to their families, or validate our statement that the Gaians are nothing more than terrorists and murderers.

Quote:CC: KNF Fancy pants.

As for the carbon copy to the KNF, if they take the officiers it will just act to prove their cooperation in supporting terrorizing actions such as this. I wouldn't expect them to take a position on the matter given it would prove direct involvement between them and your group.

Message to: NLH
CC: SF
Comm ID: Silvanus
Location: Crete, Omicron Gamma - getting my Stinger back home now that I have my bomber.

I've read the reply to Moira's ransom request, and . . . I hate to admit it, but . . . I think their admiral is right. I mean, I've always taken some pride in the fact that I always return captured pilots to neutral Zoner bases; we can't start acting like the Liberty Rogues, or the Xenos, or any of those other terrorist organizations.

We demand taxes from passing traders, we destroy warships, but we do not kill innocent people. That would make us no better than those we fight, who despoil Gaia for their own benefit. And demanding ransom when we have no intention of killing the hostages just weakens our collective word; we might as well simply return them to a Zoner base, where they can easily get passage home.

Let's send those officers back home. They are not our real enemies . . . we're not fortunate enough to have an enemy with a face. Our enemy is the monolithic visage of uncaring heavy industry, not the brave men and women who daily defend Bretonia from the encroaching Kusari threat. That doesn't mean I won't defend myself against attacks, but I won't go hunting the Bretonian Military. We both love Bretonia and the Queen; we just defend them in different ways.

Sirius Federation, I copy this message to you because I want you to know that we are not simple terrorists, we are not hooligans or murderers. We are people who care very deeply about things most pay no mind to. We are not monsters; but do not take mercy to be a sign of weakness. We don't always win, but our resolve is strong . . .

However, one thing I can't stand is for people to have no idea what we're about. So I'm sending you this message as a reminder, both to your forces and ours, of our true purpose: to save Gaia, Bretonia, and all her peoples.

I don't really believe that many, if any, of you will take me at my word; and I know that I won't change any minds. But now you know.

**Incoming Message**

Today While SF Forces were Gathered in the Leeds system 3 Xeno Fighters were spotted.. They Claimed to be "looking" for someone. They had Civilian Pilots and BAF pilots in their hold. Which were dropped. Then the 3 Xenos were being escorted to MAgellan. Instead They Turned around and went to Dublin system. I was the first one to jump in when i was engaged. The Following SF Pilots were Fighing [SF]-SFF-Ronny , [SF]-SFF-Wedge, My self, and [SF]-SFB-Beta. We also had help from a mandalorian. 5 Minutes into the battle . I heard someones escape pod launching following by a ship exploding. it was Wedge.. a near by BAF pilot flying a crusader picked his pod up and was brought to battleship Essex.

I was the xenos next target.. After Using all my nano bots and shield batteries my ship was destroyed. I was picked up by beta who was still fighting. 1 Xeno ship was destroyed after another 5 minutes. SF Ronny's ship was acting up ((ooc: he lagged out)) So he could no longer be in the battle. The mandalorian put up a good fight against the 2 xeno fighters but was destroyed 10 minutes later.

One Hour Later the fight was still going on. it was just Beta and 2 xeno ships. Another xeno fighter was shot down and the other xeno fled..

I have purcahsed a new templar and i am combat ready. It was a long but good fight. Salvatore out. Also i cannot remember the xeno pilot names.. only 1 which was WidoW
