I do have one suggestion, how about sloping the map a bit vertically backwards so we get a brief view of the entire sector (:

It's not intended to serve as an actual map that you could refer to, I'm sure plain 2d map is far more convenient than this, so instead it's an artistic interpretation of the map for a menu background. Besides when you pull camera away you'll clearly notice that it is square shaped (like in navigation), which I wanted to avoid by having camera rotate around the border as well as having occasional system points pass by and giving illusion that it is more naturally ellipsoid.

Well, since the last eye shocking picture was kinda long time ago, could you bring one epic screenshot of epic epicness of epic for my epic-hungry eyes? And now a bit more serious: Shock me mate. Kick my O_O into the armchair I'm sitting at Wink

Would be greateful,
Yours sincerely

How's stuff going around?

Going through old backups I had found a few unfinished modding docs I was writing back then, I had previously thought they were lost. One is about making starscapes like in vanilla and the other has some in-depth explanation for CMP animation, assembling multipart models for animated jumpgates, bases, etc, plus a few tricks I used in late stage content. Both are for 3ds max users pretty much. Is there any interest in those subjects for remaining developers (that is if there are any left)?

There's been a huge influx of new modders and even more on the way up. Sling your docs in and let them sip through and salvage what they want, no use asking if and how and whether or not.

Yes, definitely. Any tutorials that can be open sourced for the entire community would be massively beneficial.
