RE: Buff Rotations - Alestone - 06-06-2015

I like the weed/VIP proposal. It is well thought out, and the cons, while present, are not major detractors.

After all, FL Comp will alleviate the difficulty in finding the "station", and it is alone out in the middle of open space, making it fairly easy to see at a longer distance.

RE: Buff Rotations - Aika Kyoko - 06-06-2015

I like this proposal as mentioned there is a chance for a wide variet of factions to get stuck in, pew and rp and will provide the activity that Kusari could use right now, as long as additional sell/buy points are fixed as I would rather not have a repeat of Shikoku. If the buff is put into place I will get KPT involved as much as we are able with this for pews and roleplay.

I like the idea! Kudos for the presentation, it is pretty creative, and it should be fun to do couple of runs.

The Marijuana - Human Enhancement Run

The past centuries Cryer as well as other medical mega-corporations have made several major breakthroughs in human enhancement technology. However due to its extreme demand and restrictive laws this technology can only be acquired by the elite and in less visible locations.

In other news, the customers in Golden Dragon Casino in Shikoku system are living on a different world than the rest of the Kusarian society. The parties and events in the casino never end in which only celebrities, politicians, businessmen and syndicate leaders have the means to attend them. Of course drugs are also in common use.

  1. Synthetic Marijuana from Atka Research Station to Golden Dragon Casino.
  2. VIPs from Golden Dragon Casino to Atka Research Station.

Pros

• It is a very lore-friendly trade run.

• Buff rotations should generally be short routes, not covering the entire length of Sirius. Otherwise the trade run loses its intent which is the spark of activity in certain areas. The proposed run can be categorized as short-medium.

• About the illegal commodity:
• It is purchased outside of House Space, meaning no campers outside waiting to get screens.
• Its location allows you to import it into Kusari via several routes, allowing even official faction to try it out.
• The smugglers can be intercepted considering that Shikoku has 2-3 entrances but the station is not located on the trade lanes, significantly reducing prying eyes.

• About the location:
• Kusari was one of the Houses least-affected by the buff-rotations. In addition, the Sigmas is probably the least active location in Sirius.
• Kusari State Police, Golden Chrysanthemums, OS&C, Kempetai, Cryer, GMG and Hogosha are currently making a significant effort to return as well-established factions on the server. This Kusari-Sigma based route will give the intended spark of activity that they need.
• Of course the aforementioned factions are not the only ones involved.
Kusari Naval Forces, Samura, Kishiro, Blood Dragons, BHG, Outcasts and Corsairs can also be involved in one way or another. In Shikoku, Lane Hackers and Rogues can also operate.

• The proposed trade run contains an illegal commodity.

• Most shipping companies can participate, reputation-wise.

Cons

• There is a VIP sellpoint at Luxury Liner Hawaii. This needs to be cut out.
(it's not like it was useful afterall, considering its extremely high price)

• The Golden Dragon Casino is mostly unknown to new players. Discovery time?

RE: Buff Rotations - Garrett Jax - 06-07-2015

I appreciate the helpful suggestions received here in this thread and also on Skype. I've finished the next commodity buff, and it will be implemented upon server restart. An announcement, describing the buff, will be made shortly. I've used some of the suggestions that I've gotten from community members, but sadly I cannot use them all at one time. There were other good ones and I will look at this thread before I start another buff, using it as a guideline for what the community is looking for.

Thanks again.

Wouldn't catch my hogosha character carrying the Synth Weed... Wink drugs breed delinquency... but I'm sure I could see my way to escorting some of the less fussy members of Kusari society, sounds like a fun run, hope we can see it, or something similar in the near future... well thought through proposal there!

No hate towards the idea of some of the 'local produce' commodities though, crumpets and bratwurst Big Grin

Being British I do have to wonder when we're going to see some Bretonian Bitter or Cider though!

RE: Buff Rotations - Frederic - 06-08-2015

Another point to consider, especially taking into account this and the last buffs, is that there are no really interesting systems in play. I know how I was sweating as I (alledgedly) transported black market munitions through Frankfurt, Honshu or New Tokyo. These systems were some where you'd always meet other traders, law enforcement or robbers.
Now we have a shorter and less profitable form of the booze route, stations and systems are the same, even the rotation is going in the same direction as the booze route before. The multiple sellpoints for one commotity are a good idea, but altogether I am disappointed. I thought it should bring people together not distribute them over many systems again!

For myself I decided to sit this one out.

How about something involving Gallia (loyal/lawful) next? The thing with Gallia is that first it is from all reports dead and could do with a bit revival and more importantly it hat mined Jumpholes and guarded Jumpgates. It would create bottlenecks for the law enforcement to take advantage of or in case of the jumpholes opportunities for the robbers. I am all for creating multiple opportunities to sell, but create something that brings the players together and is profitable!!!

I am looking forward to the next buff!

Apparently you missed the "Fromage" buff we had a few weeks ago? I don't think it really made Gallia the big center of activity that some hoped it would.

RE: Buff Rotations - Garrett Jax - 06-08-2015

I would never dream of being capable of generating immense amounts of activity in Gallia. Much of Gallia faction's activity occurs outside that House. That being said, there were a lot of transports seen shipping Fromage from out of Reims Station over to the Ring, so I'd say the route worked as intended.

As far as making a Gallia only route, I fear it would do little to help generate activity there, and what little activity we might manage to generate, would end along with the buff. Best to focus on systems where we might have a chance for lasting results. I did throw the Unione Course a bone with this current route by giving them a good sell point for one of the commodities, if they can intercept transports and pirate their cargo in the Taus.

  • RE: Buff Rotations - TheShooter36 - 06-23-2015

i have a buff route idea
Commodity: BMM from Rochester Base, Sale point: Gateshead Station (Newcastle), Price: 22500/unit(please make a freighter only dock)
Commodity: Bretonian Marines(new), Buy point: Gateshead, Sell Point: Leeds BAF dock (only freighters/snubs), Price: 11000/unit
Commodity: Bretonian Refugees(new), Buy: Leeds BAF dock, Sell: Gateshead Station, Price: 9500/unit
Commodity: Tea, Buy: Gateshead, Sell: Rochester Base, Price: 19000/unit

Prices may sound absurd but this route is intended to be a freighter only route and it seems balanced for freighters. As i suggested make a freighter only dock near gateshead and it wont be a 5ker abuse Smile

Edit: all new commodity buy prices: 500/unit
