So, a Dev told someone some information that wasn't available to the general population. This isn't a one off, from my experience. Another Community Member (if you care to scroll through the recent bigger Threads has used such statements as: "Don't want to say anything more until the staff speak on the subject." (this isn't the first time this person posts such things). This gives, at least to me and I have a feeling others as well, an impression that this person 'knows' thing and really wants to 'spill the beans', but won't. You have mentioned that you know nothing of what has happened and I have no reason not to believe you, but such happenings as a Dev being the driving force of a big set of RP, which goes heavily in favour for that person's Faction(s) is going to bring on cries of 'bias', especially from those that 'lose'. Some Devs, over the years, have had loose tongues and either fed or inadvertently fed information to their friends/Faction Members which has led people having prior knowledge of certain events/changes. So, my statement was suggesting that Devs stop 'mentioning' things to people unless it is for the general population to know (which can be done by announcements). RE: Poll: Should we have a redo Player Event at Aland? - Vendetta - 03-29-2019 My only interest in becoming involved was in Kaze's statement about no one having prior knowledge of the Norfolk. I viewed it as simply not true, and took it upon myself with what evidence I had to correct that fact. Whether it is a widespread known fact or not is of little interest to me. RE: Poll: Should we have a redo Player Event at Aland? - Wesker - 03-29-2019 Why do people still care. As it stands, I do see your point regarding being a Dev and a big rp'er of a House and how that seems pointers of bias. So I'll just stop rp'ing and just focus on deving. As for the rest, I still say that the rp at hand was decided by the BAF HC, and rp'd out. <3 RE: Poll: Should we have a redo Player Event at Aland? - Thunderer - 03-29-2019 (03-29-2019, 07:39 PM)Wesker Wrote: Why do people still care. Even when I was an Admin, I only knew what was happening when the Patch/Update Notes were posted. That, as far as I am concerned, should be the way that everybody finds out. Until you posted what you did, I had no knowledge of this and I suspect most people probably didn't. Such revelations will always lead to the cries of 'bias' and it will always reinforce people's suspicions. If this was aimed at me, then I can say that I never used my position to do this. Nor did I ever see it in the time I was an Admin. If it was aimed at Admins in general, then I can't say what happened before and like I said, I wasn't accusing you of anything. But the fact is, some information has been 'leaked' and this will just reinforce people's suspicions. Mine was just a suggestion of how to improve things. PS. I already know that some of the Lead Devs don't like me, no idea why. I never interfered in their domain, but if you think that I abused my powers, as an Admin, I will be very interested in the evidence. You being a Dev and not knowing what was to happen (as you claim) Or someone in BAF HC not being a dev and knowing it. As for you stoping to RP i don't think it's the best option because disco already lost enough good rpers lately. |
