The Alcatraz depot lounge and pub - Kazinsal - 08-10-2010 "No... no I didn't... but if there's anything I can do to make it up to you or something..." Kane looked down, thinking of his own life and his childhood. He picked up his utensils and sliced off another piece of steak and ate it slowly. The Alcatraz depot lounge and pub - Osilon - 08-10-2010 Lavinia shook her head quickly. "No...just, drop it, please..." The Alcatraz depot lounge and pub - ryeguy146 - 08-10-2010 Clif continued his trip to the bar and nodded to both Margaret and David, hoping that they'd understand that it might just hit the fan tonight. Just maybe. The bartender handed him his drink and he turned to survey the scene with increasingly bleary eyes. That one in black looked dangerous, was he the killer? Or maybe this... wait a minute. "That's Roger Claymore!" Clif said aloud. He promptly forgot about the furry thing and the vagrant and even the black clad man for a moment and walked towards Claymore. He recognized him from the file that Sylpheed kept on the man. Sylpheed had a file on everyone, it seemed. "Wha's happenin' man? Donno if ya 'member or know me, but I'm Cliffor- Clif!" He corrected himself for the second time that night. "Wern' me that granted that Barghest of yers, but I passed it along ta the bossman. The request, I mean. What brings you up this way?" The Alcatraz depot lounge and pub - Tomtomrawr - 08-10-2010 Roger didn't know Clif, although the mention of the Barghest did push the name forward in his memory. He had heard it somewhere, while he was still going through the talk with Sylpheed. He put down his utensils for his food and stared at Clif. He looked in his mid-thirties, with large-rimmed glasses. Looked like a computer sort of person. 'Tha name rings a few bells. But anyway, I just decided ta stop on one o' ma favourite stations for a drink 'nd a steak. Ain't been 'ere in fourteen years. Ya don't get outta Cassini much when ya're a member o' tha Guard. But anyway lad, 'ave a seat. Ya want a drink o' somethin'?' The Alcatraz depot lounge and pub - Kazinsal - 08-10-2010 Kane looked down at his plate and sliced off another piece. "I'm sorry," he said. "I shouldn't be so nosy..." He chewed on the steak for a while in an almost awkward silence. He had no idea what to say... so he thought it would be best to just say nothing at all. Dammit. The Alcatraz depot lounge and pub - ryeguy146 - 08-10-2010 "Don' mind if ah do," Clif said offhandedly and took another swig of his drink as well as a stool. "Ain' no thing if ya don' know me. Most don', bein' as I'm mostly jus' Sylpheed's lackey, but it pays the bills." Clif suddenly remembered all of the strangers at the bar and seemed to collect himself. "Can't say it ain't a pleasure ta have 'nother Rogue in here at the moment. Even if ya ain' really a Rogue no more. I ain' so sure 'bout the rest'a these." He nodded his head in the direction of the couple and the man in black. The Alcatraz depot lounge and pub - Osilon - 08-10-2010 Lavinia didn't respond, instead taking another piece of steak and eating it, her hunger combating a wave of memories. She could almost feel the searing on her scar, of the plasma bolt which had incinerated the cells and left her wounded that day. She let out a small sigh, blinking away a film of tears. The Alcatraz depot lounge and pub - Kazinsal - 08-10-2010 Slowly, Kane silently finished his steak. The last bites of it just didn't seem to taste the same as the first few. Oh my gods, I am such an idiot... why didn't I think... no, wait... I couldn't have really thought of... no... it's not my fault... no... it is... god dammit... The Alcatraz depot lounge and pub - Tomtomrawr - 08-10-2010 'Well lad, tha drinks 'nd 'ospitality o' tha Rogues are a siren song that not a soul can resist. Ya got an eighty-year ol' barman 'ho knows his stuff. Makes a damn good Fang. I'm surprised this place ain't busier with strangers. 'nd speakin' 'bout Sylpheed, I was 'opin' ta see 'im or anotha high-rankin' Rogue. I don't think I know many o' 'em now, but I'm pretty sure I know their names. I think ya're 'n Underboss if I 'eard it right. Then there's Eva Jones; don't know much about 'er. 'nd there's Danny White. Only thing I know 'bout 'im is that 'e coughs a lot. 'nd o' course there's Sylpheed. 'Oh, 'nd ya may wanna do a background check on tha kid or somethin'. Saw 'im in tha Beast's Belly aswell when I was there. Don't know why 'e's 'ere at tha same time as me, but I'm sure it ain't a coincidence. Could be some lawful merc or somethin'. Hangin' 'round tha unlawful places. 'But anyway, 'bout why I wanna see a high-rankin' Rogue. I got 'n idea that'll make 'undreds o' millions 'nd it needs a littl' more umpf.' The Alcatraz depot lounge and pub - Osilon - 08-10-2010 Lavinia finished the last bites of her steak, now in another place. Memories ran threw her head faster than before, it was like a dream, unable to wake up or realise she was dreaming. Her mind raced through events, leading up to the one word and the searing pain. Freak... Lavinia jolted back to reality with a small gasp, her ears flicking back and her eyes wide for a moment. There was no more steak on her plate, and all of a sudden she felt incredibly fragile, cold, and unsafe in this unfamiliar place... |
