4.86 Model Issues - Ram - 04-05-2012

For some cap ships in space I see guns and the engine flame.... In liberty is the only place I know of. And while docked my labc zoned Corco and tanker are invisible except for guns and engines

I'll add screens once I get back to the computer

I just tried re-purchasing a Nephilim in open SP. The new Neph has the exact same problems. The light hardpoint is in the wrong spot and the dome frame texture is missing.

I can't install mod, I reinstalled freelancer (from original CD), and after short period after beginning of installation, it says that unable to find file "msxml3.msi". I reinstalled (again), but got same trouble.

Aet: You're missing some basic Windows software libraries - google "MSXML3" and find the runtime on Microsoft.com, since you didn't post your OS I can't link directly.p

the anki freighter bangs into things when docking and also the cargo area clips inside bases and ship when taking off and also is misaligned in dock and at worst causes clipping with the commodities salesmen on bases. I didn't notice a problem at all before.

hpmount has been misaligned.

original files are fine but current files are problematic

on a personal note this is frustrating to me because I like this ship whoever designed it did a really great job on it. it's very nice ship

Aet: Which bases does it have problems with? I need to test this before I start moving HPMount about.

The Golden Dragon Casino in Tottori is infested with gaijin! Two of the NPCs are Liberty Navy models, and most of the NPCs in the bar are caucasian.

Aet: Not a bug, or eventually won't be anyway. Base will move and then it'll be fine.


4.86 Model Issues - Viper2035 - 05-04-2012

Hello,
Inoticed that in the main menu the ship that flies closer to the screen doesn't show... I can only see it's engines. The same thing happens with my ROC bomber only on planet crete though.. I think this happened after disconnecting while in space. Freelancer just went back to the main menu and I had to shut it down... I already tried to reinstall discovery but it had no effect..

Aet: Would help to know which ships that are.

The Jinkusu I'm not going to touch. Had SO many issues with that model, and it's too large to load up in Milkshape. Jinx will have to touch that one.

Hathor... I still don't see what's wrong with it in those screens.

mainly bretonian battleships. it makes the docking look particularly clumsy in that spefiic instance of it. also liberty battleships. as for the cargo going into the commodities salesman.. it happens on small cargo bay template bases. mainly I have been around liberty, bretonia, those indepdent worlds and a couple tau. so those bases there you can see it. if hpmount was deviated to fix docking with kusari stuff I can understand but their battleship always had a small cargo area. the banging doesn't look as jarring there. I'm using the old ship now anyway so I haven't been testing it further..

This is one of those minor cosmetic things, and it's been present since at least 4.85, but...

Is the Tanto ever going to get a proper Blood Dragon texture like the Katana?

I seem to remember hearing back in the day that its copy-paste from the Wyrm/Drake texture was a bug, and that it'd get fixed at some point. Assuming I'm not misremembering that, can we paint this thing red yet?

Aet: Suppose - easy enough to do, although that'll have to wait for 4.87. It's not a bug.
