As an alternative: Why not just answer the question? Why doesn't the Insurgent have an undercarriage like the Sabre in order to make it more like a very heavy fighter and less than a Kusari fighter?

Because it's not a Sabre, and because we didn't want one when designing them. Do you mean less like a Kusari VHF? A maneuverable, small, hard-to-hit, but balanced, ship? Why wouldn't we want that? It's an evolution of the ships after a failed experiment.

Oh...serious answer? OK. The ships have bungled hitboxes that have never been fixed, and because of the size of the winged undercarriages, are pretty darn hard to balance (according to those in the know). Added to that they're pretty much boxes on top and sails on the bottom, they're fairly lower quality.
We (The SCRA, the paying customers) are quite happy with the models, the looks and the skins of them. As for the stats, size, and overall performance...that'll have to wait for the betas huh?

I have no objections to the LF model. But the VHF looks barely larger than the LF. Maybe it could qualify as a light HF, but that's no VHF.
Pictures are one thing. I can make the Typhoon look the same size as a Partisan if I wanted to. They don't reflect the overall size of the models, just the look of them.

No, no you don't. Not to drag her into it, but Ashes has only posted fact-based arguments, and (to my knowledge) hasn't "agreed with" me at all, merely pointed out facts.
And again, take it up with the balance team then...or better yet, apply for it. I'm sure they could use the help.
