Ouray Inn (iRP) - Strobel - 08-18-2012 While the others checked the information on the tablet another person approached the table. It seems the former LSF agent still caught some attention and the curiosity hadn't stopped. The new fellow started talking and - as it seems - tried to insult the woman on the table but he wasn't aware of the fact who he was talking to. Not impressed by the words he'd chosen Sonya raised her right hand and placed it before her mouth as he was done with his little speech. After a couple of seconds yawning she turned her head towards Canebreak, resting in this positon for half a minute before she focused back on Ronnie and Jonathon. "So, it seems you also got a sense of humor, right? If not I'd like to know why this clown," she pointed at the newest arrival on the table, "is interrupting our little talk. But well, I guess our gofer here just came to take care that the empty bottle will be replaced with a full one." This business talk sure became a lot more interesting within the last hours than she'd figured before. A lot of people were involved and yet there was plenty of things to be discussed. Ouray Inn (iRP) - Tanker - 08-18-2012 Jonathon returns to the table after a lengthy conservation with the bartender with a full bottle of "Mother's Finest". Who should be doing what he was asked momentarily. "Miss Mosby, Having all this information is well and good. I just wonder what good some of it will be to us. As the LSF generally doesn't concern themselves with what they think are petty criminals. Though I will say that the info on that prototype recon cruiser that is being built in Zone 21 may be of some interest to us." Right about then the bartender announces "The first round is on the Commander!" and then turns up the jukebox. "Fighting Xenos from the sky Fearless men who fly and die Men who mean just what they say The brave men of the X.A. Silver wings upon their chest These are men, Liberties best One hundred men will test today But only three win the X. A Trained to live off nature's land Trained in combat, hand-to-hand Men who fight by night and day Courage peak from the X.A.'s Silver wings upon their chest These are men, Liberties best One hundred men will test today But only three win the X.A. Back at home a young wife waits Her X.A. has met his fate He has died for those oppressed Leaving her his last request Put silver wings on my son's chest Make him one of Liberties best He'll be a man they'll test one day Have him win the X.A." This was met with a cheer from the denizens of the bar.. Jonathon then turns to Canebreak and says "Mind yer manners son" Ouray Inn (iRP) - Strobel - 08-19-2012 After the song was played and the crowd calmed down again she addressed Jones. "Well, frankly I can't tell you how this might become handy for you but it's what I can give you right now. I know the LSF isn't after you on a daily basis but they won't let you pass on an encounter. Yet I've been invited by you for a reason, a good one I assume." Still she hadn't figured out what this was all about. Yes, she could provide informations about the LSF, some things about the Navy and nothing but rumors about the LPI and still her hosts didn't seemed to be pleased with her presence. Was there more behind it than just information exchange and a place to stay? There had to be more! Ouray Inn (iRP) - Tanker - 08-19-2012 Jonathon chuckles after the song ends, "I just love that song" and takes a quick shot of his drink. He notices Lancehead still engrossed with the information on Miss Mosby's datapad even with the noise in the bar. He nods to Miss Mosby and says. " In all seriousness, I am sure you know by now that the xenos aren't what they seem. We actually want a better Liberty, one without corruption and all that entails. Since you have seen this corruption first hand, we had thought it would be a good idea to possibly have you apart of the Xeno Alliance. Not to squeeze all of your information out of you, but to have you as a willing partner in the fight for Liberty itself. I cannot promise you riches, or maybe even a box to be buried in. What you see is what you get..Now you know the main reason why you were asked here." Jonathon pours both of them a shot of "Mother's Finest" and drinks his down in a smooth motion. Ouray Inn (iRP) - shemkel - 08-19-2012 Focused on the information he was reading, Lancehead didn't even notice Canebreak joining them. The glass of Mother's Finest appearing suddenly right before him caused Ronnie to stop reading. Still deep in his thoughts, he drank the booze and then turned to others. "This is really interesting. I'm not sure how much of this information we can actually use but it surely can help us understand how the LSF works." He connected his communicator to Sonya's palmtop and pushed some buttons on both of the computers. "I'll copy the data so I could study it later. I am also uploading the xeno installation access codes and some navigation data to your memory." Still reading some of the data, he filled own glass and emptied it right away. "I'll make sure that everyone knows you're on our side now. Welcome to the Xeno Alliance, miss Mosby." He smiled briefly and noticed Canebreak. "Oh, Dudley, how was your trip?" Ouray Inn (iRP) - Madvillain - 08-19-2012 Canebreak responds with a slightly annoyed tone in his voice: ''Fine Lance, just fine'' and turns his face towards miss Mosby. ''I shot up some people in uniforms, they screamed like pigs.'' Upon noticing Canebreak's provocations aimed at Mosby , Jonathon raised an eyebrow. ''Anyway's , I wish you folks some quality time, I got a convoy to catch." Canebreak mumbled while making way towards the exit of the bar, holding his flight helmet in his hand. RE: Ouray Inn (iRP) - Xeno Alliance - 01-12-2013 * * *
...few weeks later... * * * RE: Ouray Inn (iRP) - Valeria_Benitez - 01-12-2013 It was an ordinary day in Colorado, at least for Ouray base. Signals were passing by, approaching, landing, launching again and the Xenos ships that had set out to rescue the recently launched XA-Snake.River were returning too. "Ouray base, this is Valeria Benitez, on board the correo freighter Camilla, I need clearance to dock" "Roger, clearance to dock granted proceed to docking bay one." The Ouray docking control responded... then blinked and thought to themselves. "Wait... that didn't sound libertonian..." "Gracias, Valeria Benitez out." She had initiated the docking sequence. The base security parameters recognised her craft as "neutral" and the docking control blinked twice as they saw "Corsair" before the name. "...wait, what?!" And dispatched a security team towards hangar one... The engines of the corsair freighter howled as they were shutting down after it landed on hangar one, its orange hull plating reflecting the hangar lights. As the hatch opened a lone woman walked out dressed in a very different flight suit that had a mediterranan flair to it. She seemed relaxed as she took off her helmet greeting those present with a smile and "Buenos dias, honored amigos." RE: Ouray Inn (iRP) - shemkel - 01-12-2013 Lancehead was just finishing the post-docking checks when he noticed a security team running through the corridor leading to other docks. He ignored what he saw for a brief moment but then he realised something. Ohshi... - he thought to himself - there's gonna be trouble... He ran down the stairs of his old pelican to get to the neighbouring dock as fast as possible. Suddenly he stopped, got a few stairs back up and opened the door to ship's toilet. For a while, he stared at his reflection in the mirror, tided up his jacket a bit. "You won't shave yourself right now, will you?" he asked his reflection and left the room in a hurry. As he entered the dock his corsair guest landed in, he almost started to laugh. There were xenos all around the place hidden behind some crates and boxes, most of them aiming their guns at the corsair pilot. Some of them were even aiming at Ronnie as he ran out of the corridor rather fast. They were all armed and ready as if there was a navy cruiser outside the station launching a boarding party right now. In the middle of this mess, there was his corsair guest standing, with slightly surprised look on her face but besides that, rather calm and - what Lancehead was quite impressed with - not afraid. "Stand down, people!", Ronnie ordered, "Holster your weapons! You act like a bunch of pirates. It's not how we welcome our guests, is it?" Seeing the xenos relaxing a bit and putting down their weapons, Lancehead turned towards Valeria: "I'm terribly sorry, Miss Benitez. But you must understand them, they live in a lot of stress." As he walked down towards his guest, Lancehead noticed the dock security chief trying to manage the other xenos and send them back to their work. As he walked by the man, he patted his shoulder and whispered "Good job, man. You've earned yourself a bottle". This made the officer relax and smile as he thought he would rather get yelled at. "I hope you don't mind this... mess?" Ronnie asked as he aproached Valeria "The bar is that way. My boys will handle the ship and refill whatever is needed." RE: Ouray Inn (iRP) - Valeria_Benitez - 01-12-2013 Valeria had remained standing on the ramp that lead out of her freighter wearing bag (which went well with the mediterranan look of her flight suit) loosely around her shoulders that appeared to hold a number of long, round objects. As Lancehead approached and the Xenos relaxed she walked a few steps forward to greet him. "De nada, mi amigo, I am flattered, truly." The corsair smiled mysteriously but with a hint of mischief. "But I ~am~ armed senor..." Then she reached slowly into that bag of hers... and pulled out a bottle filled with an odd looking liquid. "... with el 'booze' I believe you would call it, si?" And snickered. "I present you Malvada Rum, brewed by hermano Trueno Benitez of the Benitez familia." She offered Lancehead the bottle. "If you like strong drinks you are going to mucho love this, mi amigo." |
