Meeting with Bundschuh

Greetings Overwatch Command,

Recently I had a meeting with two Bundschuh pilots. The summary of the meeting was the worry that the Technocracy are attempting to sour relations between the Order and the Bundschuh, specifically the Platform. It would seem that there the Nomads informed them of My and korporal Holger Lahm foray into Omicron Major was reported to them… Or we have a wild in the Rheinland Military’s command structure. These are the only two factions who know about this operation. The Nomads (and their thralls, and the Higher ranking members of RM command).

Looking into our information it would seem that the Bundschuh and the Platforms are most interested in some friendly fire event that happen in Sigma-15 some time ago. I would like to request that the Wedjat begin looking into that happened during this event, battlegroup Revenant command, and the Eclipse. They also ask if someone named "Sapphire Raven and "Revenant"" where the same person. I think this is something for the Wedjat to look into.

I will repeat, I believe we should look into Rheinland Military High command. I would thing that the report of the mission into Omicron Major was kept to a classified level. Meaning only a few could have let that information get out. While it is still very likely that the Nomads where the ones to share what happened in Major, I think it is best to cover our bases.

Reports on Operation in Inverness

The situation in Inverness has returned to normal. As such the recall order to the Order's heavy assist in and around the system has been given. I have also ordered the Shipyard to be ready to receive damaged assets. Some recon cruisers have been left behind to monitor Inverness and surrounding systems for the time being. If anything major becomes of this Operation we will learn of it.

Monitoring com chatter from our deployed battlegroup has lead me to believe that the Technocracy is beginning to become more bold with its actions in the independent systems. Some reports even claim that they have added some Former Hellfire Legion Warships to their numbers. Given their attempts to draw a wedge in-between us and Bundschuh I believe that we can no longer afford to let other parties deal with the Technocracy. I recommend and increased efforts against the Technocracy to cut the head off this problem before it becomes bigger then we can handle alone.

Report On Inverness Situation

The Nomad infestation in Inverness has been halted at best, I moved in on that system after receiving a call for help from the Crayter Republic with my personal vessel as not to step on any toes of our Liberty "friends". Multiple times I had to fight Auxo ships assisting said Nomads and took out as many as I could but without heavy guns I was woefully underprepared for this operation. The Technocracy being well know enemies was a given but what I wasn't expecting is Zoner Militants to engage me so we should keep watch on their activities for now. I suggest we move in on the Hive in that system sooner than later due to its close proximity to House space, I am sure Liberty would enjoy being included in this operation if they are amicable. All in all, I killed a lot of the infestation so I call that A win. Major Stalgrenn out.

Inverness Situation Debriefing

The following is a summarized report of my activities as part of the recent Inverness operation, and relevent intel acquired.

I can personally account for the eradication of 205 squids of various fighter-type xenoforms, though it barely seems a dent in the local population. The massive levels of infestation here rival that of even the deep omicrons, and has not been seen in the Independant Worlds since the scouring of Drake. Infestation levels have become critical enough that an ISH'TAR class Nomad dreadnaught was sighted casual "observing" a class between an LSF fighter and Technocrat forces.

(NOTE: The LSF forces present seem particularly hostile to our presence, showing no sign of the cooperation we've been able to build with the Liberty Navy recently.)

During the course of my patrols I was able to identify a number of former Insurgent/Hellfire vessels were spotted in system bearing both Zoner Militant and Technocrat IDs. While the two seperate groups seem to remain quite friendly and cooperative with one another, there was a marked division between the two groups disposition upon the arrival of the Nomad capital vessel. The Militant aligned Insurgents responded with an appropriate level of concern and battle preparations, where the Technocrat aligned Insurgents responded, well, they barely responded at all, seeming uncaring at best about the appearance of the alien war-forms.

This disparity of response to the Nomads was further reinforced following the arrival of Crayter forces in the area. I was able to join forces with the Crayter vessels FV-Tyran and FV-Hernes, and we attempted to engage the Nomads. We were able to convince a Militant-Aligned gunship to set aside differences in a temporary cease-fire and fight the aliens with us, however the TFP tagged Technocrat-Aligned Insurgents elected explicitly to stay out the of the engagement, preferring to "study" the situation as it unfolded. This could signal a danger of potential nomad-infection making its way through former Insurgent forces that could present problems in the region going forward.

Ultimately the engagement with the Aliens was unsuccessful, and all parties retreated to safety when the FV-Tyran became disabled and it became apparent that we simply lacked the firepower necessary to take on a vessel of that power.

Relevant visual logs have been attached for Wedjat review. I will return to my standard patrols through the Independent Worlds.

AFTER ACTION SUMMARY - BLOCKADE OF HOGOSHA ARTIFACT CONVOYS

While commanding the Cruiser CV-Sothis we have intercepted and engaged numerous Hogosha artifact smugglers over the previous week. This includes Blockade actions undertaken in the Sigma Sector over the past two days in coordination with our allies the True Sons of Kusari faction of the Blood Dragons, and the GMG|, joined additionally by many Order Overwatch assets and Secondary Fleet vessels of the Eclipse Vanguard.

The Operation has been an overall success, yesterday the 19th the entire offending Hogosha convoy was eliminated, and the artifacts in question either seized or destroyed. Likewise, the Hogosha's second convoy today was almost entirely destroyed with the notable exception of a single transport designated the <Shizuoka> that managed to evade our combined fleet and escape to Kabukicho Depot. Hopefully WEDJAT can figure out if what they were carrying will be of any consequence.

In total at least 22,050 Artifacts and Xeno Relics were destroyed in the allied blockade and pursuit operations across the nine successfully eliminated Hogosha transports, with another 11,750 artifacts intercepted by our personal patrols this week.

SUPPLEMENTAL REPORT -CONFLICT WITH DETERRENCE CORSAIRS

Additionally I regret to inform command that during both operations we were forced to do battle with our Corsair allies in the Deterrence Fleet. They committed significant forces to the defense of the Hogosha convoys, and while my crew did selectively focus on other targets as long as we could, the Deterrence Fleet made no such considerations; firing on my vessel first in both engagements. As such, given that the destruction of such an important convoy of confirmed active Artifacts and Xeno Relics was an absolute priority, I gave the order to return fire. Again I wish to stress that in both engagements, I and other Order forces refused to fire on our Deterrence allies until they had fired at us first, but the situation eventually made it impossible for us not to target one another. That convoy could not be allowed to enter Kusarian space unopposed, and the Corsair forces were determined to protect it. Ultimately in both engagements the participating Corsair forces also failed to stand down once the transports were either destroyed or escaped, deciding instead to continue attacking our allied fleet and necessitating the destruction of many of their vessels after the outcome of the operation was already decided.

It should also be noted that combat during the blockade operation did spill over into both the Honshu and New Tokyo systems as several transports made it past the initial operation area; following a route from Sigma-17 to Sigma-19 to Honshu on their first attempt, and a route from Sigma-17, to Sigma-13, to Honshu and ultimately New Tokyo on their second attempt. The pursuit was a regrettable but necessary move to prevent as many of the dangerous Xeno Relics and active Artifacts from reaching their destination as possible.

Local infrastructure in New Tokyo was also significantly damaged during the fighting, as the Deterrence Corsairs forces resorting to the sabotage of many of the local Trade Lane rings in an effort to limit our forces available options to pursue the last remaining transport. The Kusari authorities, while not involved in the fighting, are surely aware of our coordination with the Blood Dragons and GMG in this final act of the conflict. Optimistically speaking, Kusarian forces will be equally aware that it was not our side conducting widespread sabotage. Hopefully the significantly reduced number of un-intercepted artifacts will prevent more harm from coming to the Kusarian population than was caused by the collateral damage inflicted by the Corsairs.

Attached below are the relevant logs and images that my crew collected mid-battle. As well as some logs of heightened smuggler activity/interceptions in the area this week.

ORGANIZED ARTIFACT SMUGGLERS IDENTIFIED - [CSA]

While commanding the Recon Cruiser CV-Sothis and my own personal bomber [Foxtrot-Nine] I have continued patrols and interdiction of Non-Corsair artifact shipments across northern Omicron Theta following our blockade actions against the Hogosha earlier this week. While I can report a significant drop in specifically Hogosha related activities, the usual rabble of independent smugglers has continued 'business as usual'. Also there have been some interesting developments in the way said smugglers are attempting to move their illicit cargo.

New supplies of artifacts concealed within containers of mundane consumer goods have begun flowing out of Omicron Gamma. Undoubtedly this is an effort by the Corsairs to assist their various associated middlemen in evading detection, but anyone with even a basic understand of the Edge Worlds economy should immediately raise an eyebrow at the prospect of traders hauling Consumer Goods away from the Omicron Sector.

Specifically we have identified what seems to be an organized ring of artifact smugglers operating under the guise of an freelance shipping company, designated CSA - Corporate Shipping Airways. Given their transponders, it looks like a family operation, but we have intercepted two different CSA vessels hauling these concealed artifacts within the past few days, designated [CSA]Steve:Malcolm and [CSA]Oliver.Malcolm. Their route follows the same path as the earlier Hogosha convoy, crossing Theta from Gamma, and attempting to transit through the jumphole to Sigma-17, with Kusari as their unconfirmed, but most likely sale point given recent events. We were able to stop both transports in question before they could make it into the Sigma Sector, however in both instances the CSA vessels refused to cooperate and fled. I gave the order to my crew to open fire on these smugglers, but unfortunately both times they were able to evade us with their nimble KS-35 'Serenity' Transports and escape to shelter on Freeport 9. It is a small victory at least that we have been able to turn these artifact shipments back to Corsair territory rather than allowing them to complete their deliveries to the civilian market where the artifacts could potentially cause serious harm.

I recommend that Command order all patrolling Overwatch assets to stop any [CSA] vessels they come across and search for concealed artifact shipments, while maintaining a heightened state of alert as the suspects have been entirely uncooperative and remorseless in their endeavors thus far.
