Lukas heard the commissar's shout, and glanced at a nearby guard. The guard rolled his eyes and motioned him towards the door. Slowly, he stood up and proceeded towards the open door.
He stood in the doorway, taking note of the red stain on the floor, the mahogany desk and the man who stared evenly at him from the other side.
He stepped forward, waiting for further direction.
"Commissar," he said respectfully, clasping his hands behind his back.

Koniev reached for the cigarette he left on the ashtray, but it had already burned itself out. He muttered something to himself before taking out a new one. Tossing the pack on the table, he looked at a pile of dossiers, and shifted through them.
"Which one are you?"
He looked up at the applicant."
"Well, spit it out then. What's your name?"

As Lachina shot the revolver towards the ceiling, nothing came from the gun, besides an empty click. Doriano turned his finger in a circle, motioning for Lachina to turn around, where she'd see Faddei behind her, in his chain, his own pistol aimed squarely at her head.
"Excellent choice."
Doriano's voice droned, with a hint of disappointment in his voice, as he held his hand out towards Lachina for the revolver.

"I am sure you already have documentation on my previous career as a pilot in the Rheinwehr's secondary fleet, and I imagine you will want an explanation as to why I have come here today."
He pauses, thinking how to continue - and allowing the commissar to speak.

Koniev shook his head and took another drag from his cigarette.
"The people that stroll in here these days. If you enjoy listening to yourself speak I'm sure you can find a career as a politician. But since you're keen on volunteering information about yourself, go ahead. But keep this in mind. I don't care about your career in the Rheinland Military."
He leaned back, and put his feet on the table.
"Go on."

Lukas gulped, berating himself. He unclasped his hands and began to speak again:
"My apologies, Commissar." He paused briefly, then continued on.
"I will be brief. I am here because Rheinland is not what it once was. I will avoid details of my career, but my homeland is afflicted. Once, we valued honourable qualities, but now the Kanzler holds the state in his
vicelike. choking grip."
"I am here to help fix that, Commissar, if I can."
He stops, fixing his gaze on the grain of the wooden desk.
