The future of mining? - Ntei - 03-02-2011 turning off mining will couse more damage than benefit, 93,41% recuests that The future of mining? - Enoch - 03-02-2011 If you turn it back on without any change made to the system, all this fuss would have been of no use. Also, please don't base your actions on polls. They're pointless. I don't see why the majority of players has to be right and the minority has to be wrong. That, and most people vote with their alts. However, that's what the world wanted and that's what the world will get. The majority of people are stupid and hence in a demoncrazy, your decisions will be crazy. Comes with the territory. There needs to be quick solution to this problem. Most of us enjoy mining as you don't have the mind numbing boredom of trade routes, going back and forth by yourself. Mining added a new dimension that was a welcome change. It also gave reason for many ships and factions, without which the game would be drab and boring. The future of mining? - Zweibrucken - 03-02-2011 should be a other...this isnt just affecting miners...its affecting pirates aswell(less places to run riot) i say turn it backon and make it so its more profitable than trading due to more time used (mining then hauling it) but not as profitable as before so everyone isnt all in one place but spread out between the conolys/borderworlds more mining feilds would be good for example like the further away from the station the better drop rate is as it wouldnt/shouldnt have been mined as much therefore more ore floating around....but would have more danger but i know my views are cast aside...soo do what the hell you want as theres always gonna be people moaning and groaning about it... In my opinion it just looks the Admins wants us to choose in their place so they can deny any responsibility in the future. The future of mining? - welshdemon - 03-02-2011 yes i have to agreewith SA mining is there not just making money but player interaction it gets so boring trading by your self all the time and mining helps with passing the time cos u spk to players and always on your watch looking for pirates.so please bring mining back it is part of this mod now. And what's with this myth of mining providing less encounters ? Have you ever traded ? The future of mining? - Cond0r - 03-02-2011 I got just one question regarding this poll. Since when is Discovery a democracy? We've been fine without mining before, take a pill. So why now ? Oh, disco isn't a democracy, I agree with you there. However, the point was about the poll, which is a democratic form of sorts. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I believe they did the poll for player feedback which of course shows itself in a form of democracy, which is something you will have to live with. In any case, I have to agree with the majority here. There was a problem with mining in Dublin, no arguments there. The disagreement comes from the way it has been dealt with. Which over night will lead to many factions and indies having massive issues and probably loosing a lot of their members due to anger and in the next few weeks, inaction due to mining being their main source of RP. Many factions were set up to use mining as a source for RP, non of them were even thought of with respect to this decision. Once again, the actions of a few, destroy the work of others who try their damnedest to play by the rules and make it fun for everyone. It was a shock for me to fly my favorite ship, the salvager, today and find absolutely no reason to even have it anymore. |
