I wouldn't have someone referee a Rangers vs. Celtic game just because they were 'fair'. They'd need to be familiar with the game, and the context too, and have proven competence.
Also, who died and made you the final judge on who is fair and who is not?

I acctually seriously doubt that, discovery is such a different place form any other RP server or forum that you NEED someone with experiance here to be able to see how we do things and to be able to lead with that knowledge.

Does this mean that some Outcast faction members don't have the right to ban my Outcast indie from Alpha because my character is hostile to Nomads?
Just an example, to clear things up, because I don't understand it very well.

This isn't a basketball game, but even there you wouldn't pick the coach of one team to be the ref like they do here.
Fairness isn't something I decide or you decide, fairness is simply being free from bias and honest, and being willing to listen to everyone's side of a dispute before you make a decision.

Seems the old indie/faction war has been joined by a new side. Now it is a forum wars II, Indies vs Factions vs Admins. Who shall win?
People, lighten up, everyone here is human, admins can do mistakes, admins can be biased, overall they do a good job. So why the hell complain? Akuma, I have no idea in which fairy dream dimension you reside currently, but you calling yourself fair, and a well respected moderator made me shoot my Cola through my nose. As for the rest of you, this debate is silly, you turned a reasonable debate about how this "could" affect certain things, into a war between factions, indies and admins, seriously, there's no war and no bloody conspiracy. So would you all just relax?

Does it mean that they aren't allowed to shoot you, or have disagreements within a faction?
Does this mean that nobody with the same ID and IFF can fire on each other, even with an RP escalation of conflict?

If your suggested admin came in here and called Freelancer a strategy game, for instance, it would show incompetence, or a painful lack of experience, much like you mistaking football for basketball. They should be familiar with the game.

But since he hasn't...
Familiarity with the game isn't really needed beyond what could be learned in a day. Most of it's common sense. F1 bad, cursing bad. Pretty simple stuff.
The overall issue of who gets to club who with their RP doesn't require familiarity with the game, it only requires a sense of fair play.

Explain to me the off-side rule, then explain to me the rules regarding the use of cruise engines, or the relations between the GMG and pirate factions.

Fairness is a word with a fairly strict definition. To be fair someone needs to look at it from the outside, without bias, and then they could say whether an application of the cruise rule is fair or not fair. You sound as if you think this stuff is complicated. It's not.

Part of the issue is that no one is leading with that knowledge, sanctions are done and admin verdicts are given that contradict each other, and people beg for clarification and get silence.
