John Sanders of the Carsten Miller, filling in for our wounded chief. We have become aware of the open hostilities between members of the 44th Colonial Remnant fleet, and a group of freelancing miners, brandishing the [A_C] company colors.
We just launched from Java and were greeted with the sight of a Libertonian cruiser escorting one of these vessels. Now, I am not certain what exactly transpired to get the Liberty Navy out here, but I suggest this matter to be looked into. A ship like that is going to draw half the Outcast bomber fleet from Cali, and once they're done with the cruiser, you can guess who will be next.
*included is the transponder ID of the Liberty Cruiser: "Just_Thrent"*

RE: To reinforce the Taus and the Omegas

Dear members of the guild,

I'€™m no man of science or wise as our leaders can be and I have no authority to take decisions for our guild. I'm just a miner but like many of our brothers I can see the situation has become critical for us workers and guardians of the Taus.
The last few months safety in Tau 23 has dropped dramatically. Thanks to the CR folks Java is still in one peace and I really believe we'€™d be nothing without their help. But lately, we miners have endured many raids in the ore fields, from our neighbors the outcasts of course but also from many different scallywags of all kind. I have seen junkers, rogues, freelancers, French guys, hogoshas, harvesters, libertonians and even squids!
Furthermore, almost every day our colleagues find some freelancer miners trespassing in our territories and stealing our goods.
Tomorrow, If an army breaks into the taus we wouldn'€™t cope with it.
The point is that we IMG have become weak and we are losing little by little our cherished independence.
The solution: We must reunite our people, protect our fields, our convoys, and reinforce our lines of defense against the intruders. We must strengthen our bounds with our allies to overthrow the enemy.
In a recent message, Chief Engineer Gaetan Molière has put the finger on something fundamental: our recruitment process. It'€™s taking too long and many capable guys are growing impatient to join our ranks in the taus and the omegas.

We have the money, the equipment. Now we need the men. We need to strengthen our different departments. We need to accelerate the recruitment process. Our leaders should delegate more of their decisional power regarding the recruitment of newcomers. Furthermore, in order to catch the interest of new members to join our defense department, we could give them extra money once they are enrolled in and give them extra training. Maybe we could find a financial agreement with our faithful CR allies and benefit from their great fighting experience and ask them to train our rookies.
Finally, we could adopt the system of patronage. Each new member would be taken care of by a senior member of the guild.
In order to finance these projects, look at Zed. Shouldn'€™t we follow his example? I'€™m ready to work extra hours to help the guild.
Shouldn'€™t we be ready to share with the guild our winnings and fill the treasury coffers? Shouldn'€™t we be ready to raise our fists against the intruders and to protect the reason why we have chosen this life?
Yes we are ready !
We are ready to fight for our Independence !

Erynel here. And I say: Hell yea! Be about time those pirate *scrambled* get their own. While we're at it, could probably fund a few of the CR lads to upgrade their ships or get new ones. They be pretty much the IMG guard in the Tau23 system anyway. The Carsten be ready to load up the barge again if that be needed!

But yea, we need someone to take charge of affairs out here. Command seems to be a bit lacking.

First message : To Jack Fender, Miller

I have to say you are right about tau 23 been a dangerous place, but it has always been the case. Thats why very few survive but those who do become stronger then the threat that oppose them.

Also you mentioned the ''french, the kusarian and others guest'' , well they aren't automatically threat as long as they are respectful or do not endanger our operation. If you consider all outsider as enemy or danger there is no wonder why you feel uncomfortable. We can survive longer then any organization in open space.

Equip yourself, plan your mining operation , avoid going on your own. And please do not base your opinion only on your personal experiences. We have also won numerous fight, or blocked invasions.

If one giant criminal organization can't exterminate us from the taus sector that must be a sign of strong resistance and perseverance, nothing of what you call ''weak''.

ABout the recruitment issue, we are on managment structure revision but we will of course concentrate our efforts to recruit potential employee. Like I said it is not for everyone, a lot of trainee do not survive their first week out there. I don't want to scare people, but it is something to know.

Second message,

As you should be aware of, we have an agreement with Ageira Technology's and the Tech usage. Whenever you encounter their employees, threat them respectfully. I count on everyone.

Whoever may be interested and possessed of a mining ship, escort or freighter is invited to join a little silo-emptying event in the Taus. Simply put, Pangaea's storage tanks are being emptied and there's need for first haulers to drain it; and then miners to fill her again. Might wanna hurry, the ore won't last forever!

Like I said, anyone friendly is invited while those unfriendlies customarily sticking their noses into internal comms are requested to die from heart attack.

Independent Miners Guild Comm System (GuildComm) - CrazyB - 08-12-2010

Greetings fellows,

I totally agree with you on most of the points Ian.

Sure Tau 23 is and will always be a dangerous place, but somehow, we miners seem to like it.
Of course, we cannot close our borders and prevent foreigners to pay us a visit. How would we survive without the supplies they sell us? But like a man to his dog, I think it s important to remind them who is the master of the house.

Like many of the folks around me, I'€™ve been mining for quite a while now and I can say I have adopted the most preventive reflexes to avoid the loss of my ore, my money or my life. Of course, I'€™d be already dead without this incredible solidarity that unifies or sisters and brothers.

All I am trying to say is that, to survive the new threats coming from Sirius and Gallia, IMG needs to reorganize itself and improve what already exists. We are a small guild composed by brave men working hard to bring comfort and happiness into this tough system called Tau 23. And we are ready to defend our houses against the most powerful enemies. But we need to optimize the different procedures regarding recruitment, mining, transport and defense issues.
Simply put: More profit, less casualties!

After some conversations with our folks at the bar in Java, I would like to present to our leaders a few elements to consider for the improvement of our Guild.
1. Most of us consider the CR folks as part of the family. We have seen many of them losing their lives trying to protect our miners or haulers. We would only take advantage of a joint effort between our department of Defense and their Armed Forces. Some of us believe a fusion of both forces would create a great strike force against any threats. In practical terms: One headquarters, one armed force for both factions. However CR and IMG could keep their own squad for special ops.
2. Organize weekly an extraordinary convoy. We miners would combine our efforts to fill one or two barges of ore once a week. The content of those barges would be escorted by minimum 6 vessels from the new army. Just imagine the benefits from this procedure: 1billion credits to earn from each run. Part of this profit would be equally shared between all the members, without distinction between CR and IMG, who have helped in the project. Another part would be used as investments in better equipment, recruitment, R&D projects, etc. Advantages of this system would be to diminish considerably the several illegitimate taxes every small convoy suffers from each run. What could 3 or 4 pirates do in front of such a convoy?
3. Give more members the power to recruit people. This new board would be composed by veterans of the guild with enough experience to identify which one is fit to join the guild.
4. Adopt the system of patronage. Each member decides to help a new comer integrate the guild, show him how things work around and increase this way the bonds that link us all.

I'€™m just asking our wise leaders to think about those ideas and take the best from them. Once again, the final objective is to improve our conditions and strengthen our community. (//and bring a lot of RP hehe)

John Sanders, second crewman of the Carsten Miller. Our crew wholly applauds this effort and we will gladly assist in restoring the tankers to full capacity. I would however recommend against pre-announcing the departure times over broadcast, considering the sheer quantity and value of the cargo involved.

That said, we have set aside a cargo barge to assist in this undertaking. Alternatively, chief Erynel is voicing his eagerness to "blow any frecker trying to stop us out of the sky like a rogue roid", so if there is enough hauling capacity, escort could be provided as well. However, if that is needed, I would like to request that the Colonial Remnant of Tau44 provide him with a true fighter craft rather then the Spacial light miner he now uses. It's seen him hospitalized more then once.

RE: A great run and hangover in New Berlin

Dear members of the guild,

Yesterday was a good day for IMG. 4 transports managed to run from Java to New Berlin without any major trouble.

Our convoy was composed by 3 Atlas and 1 Titanic Class Heavy Tanker. A Nyx piloted by the incredible Jessica Ferres (imagine that, a lady with big guns, only drinking fruit juices…that’s hot) took the head of the convoy. The Spatial class vessel, piloted by a new and promising recruit named Walter Sobchak was watching our back.
Once we reached Honshu a fire started in the engine room of the Atlas transport Little Mamma, piloted by Zed. We had to stop the convoy for about 15min the time for Zed’s crew to deal with the problem. Looks like the fire started because of some incident with tobacco and whiskey Zed had onboard. So, since a professional who takes care of his mates I asked Zed to entrust me with these hazardous materials.

We reached Planet New Berlin without incident to report. Once docked I wanted to invite the whole convoy to a nice place I know in the city in order to congratulate the newbies...Well, I just woke up a few minutes ago with a great hangover and I cannot really report what happened to the convoy since yesterday night!

Zed, sorry for the emptied bottle of whiskey…I owe you one
