Character Name: Akai Amari
Biography: Born to a dirt poor family in the New Tokyo slums Akai saw her father pass away due to health complications at the age of 4. With her mother in need to keep the lights on she saw her fall into a vicious cycle of overwork at the local noodle bar as a bartender.

At the age of 18, after finishing her basic education, Akai needed credits fast in order to help her mother pay the bills, so she found a job as a librarian at the near local hololibrary and found out the wonders and comforts of the holobooks.

She used to get caught up day dreaming of a day when women would have more liberty and wouldn't be afraid to show what they desired - in one of those days she ran into the poems of Yuyu Matsuda. You see, Akai likes to read - a lot - but when she read Yuyu Matsuda it all made sense.

"Kusari the great
emperor the break
while the other side won't participate
Kusari will break the great
in all the patriarchal
there must be a sparkle
for we all to marvel" - Yuyu Matsuda

Of course - it started to make perfect sense - Kusari was not governed for all, it was governed for men and men only. Women are a side thought, a commodity to be traded. In a drunken anger, Akai started a fire at the library, saving only Yuyu Matsudas holobooks, while the fire was consuming everything. Just as the police were about to find Akai she managed to hide inside a trash compactor nearby and shortly after ran to the nearest black market port, having only her mind and body to offer she made a deal with a shady woman at the port - the women would take Akai to a nearby pirate base if she promissed to look into the Golden Chrysanthemums. It just so happens that the pirate base that Akai was left on was Ainu Depot.

After doing some odd jobs - mainly in cleaning the rotten prisons of Ainu - Akai managed to make enough money to buy a small light ship, using it effectively to rain terror on transport ships across Kusari.

Reasons for joining inRP: After understanding that Akai can make a difference within GCs ranks she wishes to join. To take the fight to New Tokyo - to take the fight to the men that brought her misery and pain.

- inRP section -

Character Name: Hinami Yui
Biography: I wasn't born in a wealthy or poor family... I was born ... Back in 799 on planet New Tokyo. This was for years mostly the only important thing in my life; life itself. I was not with the parents I wanted. Sadly the latter didn't survive my birth. Being the 3rd kid and the only daughter made it rough for a single father. He did his best to raise my brothers and I but obviously, for him, I was another boy. I can't blame him at all because he taught me to be tough and dependable. He also was violent.

No wonder I ended up working on a small mining operation, all our father was talking about and teaching us was mechanics. Strangely enough, I was kinda good at mangling with the tools, engines and you know, about everything I could get my hands on. The pay wasn't the best out there but I enjoyed working there... until the facility got struck by some pirates. The Sigmas always had a bad reputation but I never thought I would end up in such a bad situation. Like most, I've tried to escape the carnage but I wasn't fast enough.

Life is strange isn't it? I was shot while running to the hangar, hoping to get in a shuttle but i got badly injured. The man, I can remember his sick face, was laughing at me like I was a joke to him... lying in my own blood. I must have passed two or three times but sure thing, i don't remember the last one. When I woke up, I was lying in a bed and totally confused. I lost the sense of time for days before realizing where I was. These people, all women, were part of the group called the Golden Chrysanthemum.

Curiously enough, at the moment I realized where I was, I wasn't scared. They treated me decently and with dignity like I never was before. After a few months, I was back on my feet and ready to go back home. I thought they wouldn't agree to let me go but they said that I wasn't a prisoner. At this moment, I realized what they did for me and since I am a great mechanic, offered to repay my debt of honor by helping them. My way to help them was to fix their ship for the year. I must admit that I have never felt so welcomed and accepted in my life. Nobody before this never considered me like what i really am: Someone important. Over the years, I developed, I wouldn't say love but loyalty for what the Golden Chrysanthemum group was fighting for.

I'm scheduled to leave today aboard a freelancer ship. I am about to do something I never thought I would do; I am showing up before you, not begging you but asking you to accept me as one of you. I know I have much to learn but here, I feel important and special. I have found somewhere i call home and i made some many todomodachi here.... i know they need me.... and i need them.

Reasons for joining inRP: I want to put my mechanical knowledge to good use. I always wanted to be able to tweak more "exotic" ships and GC- is quite an opportunity? IEE? I want to be part of a group who, like me, want to prove that women can be as good or even better than men!

Character Name: Kagome "Shinsakuto" Yūki
Biography:
I don't know where to start - it all seems blurry now, like a fever dream. I was born on New Tokyo to a respectable family. My father is a high level administrator to a moderately successful Kishiro subsidiary. My mother manages the family home and looks after its prestige. I have a younger sister who has taken after our mother and I might have too if the stars had aligned differently.
For most of our formative years we were raised to become obedient wives, perfect display pieces to compliment a prospective husband, mothers. I can hardly blame our mother for this - it was the life she knew. hence, she passed it onto Emiko and me. Our world was the vision father enforced. It had worked, remarkably well actually, up until it didn't.
When I was about 14, my classmate's older brother became a pilot for Renzu - short range courier between New Tokyo and a shipyard in Shikoku. He didn't want to get a place in New Tokyo as he would be barely spending time down the well, so he stayed with the parents every time he came back from a run. I used to spend time at their home after school. One time he was there too, visiting for a couple of days. Hiromi - that was the name of my friend, at least I believe it was... it was so long ago - she and I had a wild, pop culture driven understanding of what it means to fly. In our minds it meant adventurous men and women exploring unknown corners of the galaxy, brave pilots fighting off pirates, navy ships pounding foes into space dust, beauty and wonder of the cosmos laid bare... Hiro's brother must have had a laugh fueling our fantasies with made up stories that fit the narrative woven by out naive, adolescent minds. Come to think, I would probably have done the same in his shoes. We were kids, we were girls, no one took a 14-year-old teen seriously enough.

When I came back home I announced to my parents that I want to become a pilot. I knew there were plenty of women sailors out there - after all you heard about them in the news and saw idealized version of them in movies, so my wish wasn't far-fetched. I could have asked for a unicorn for birthday just as well judging from the reaction I got from my parents. To them we were supposed to be an ideal of grace and family commitment, a prize and a utility for whatever husband father would choose for us. My sister thought I was silly to want anything but what father envisioned for me. Mother dismissed it as a phase. And it would have been the end of it if something hadn't snapped, somewhere inside me. From that day I would not stop dreaming of flying.
I turned 21. That year I was supposed to get married to some man my father had chosen. For all I know he might have been the best person in the galaxy, but I did not care. I was angry and I was determined. One day while my father was at work and my mother dosed off in front of her handheld, I packed a small carry on, went out the door and never looked back.

The first weeks on my own were nothing to write home about. I had everywhere to go and yet nowhere to go. I stayed with a girl I knew from school. It's not that we were close back in the day, just friendly - still, she had the space to let me bunk temporarily, I hardly had a better option. One night I had a little too much to drink. We were talking and I unloaded all my frustration on her, the anger at father who'd commodify me if he had his way, anger at mother who'd happily squeeze me into the mold, anger at Hiro's brother for he wildly colorful stories about space - he probably was the most innocent of all, but I he was part of the narrative, so I vented his persona along with everything else. I left life in a bubble without even a clue about what to do next, how to get from here to where I wanted to be. I wanted to fly.
As I sat there all sobby, angry and powerless, Ren - that was her name, Ren - looked at me and at first said nothing. Then she asked if I was serious about wanting to fly, because if I were she had someone she could connect me with.
This next part I can't properly put in order... I remember meeting a fence for some local smugglers and extortionists who had an upline to someone from the Hogosha. I did some trafficking for them to and from Ripping, never even knew what it was that I had on me. No one asked questions, so I did what needed to be done, got paid some and did it again. As some point, they got their hands on a stolen shuttle. I remember a smudge vaguely resembling the Samura logo on the side of the ship, apparently someone tried to scrape it off and did a poor job of it. They loaded a fake transponder which probably would not hold up to scrutiny if someone were to look more closely at it, but for traffic control it was apparently good enough, and they waved it through. I left new Tokyo that day and never looked back.
The guy flying the tub was called Razor - I did not know his real name, I didn't really care. I was there to help handle cargo. It wasn't the glorious flying job I envisioned and light yeas away from the fantasy I dreamt up as a girl but I did my own thing, on my own terms. I choose this and it beat the hell out of any perspective life my family had in store for me.

The job was simple enough. But I had a lot of down time so Razor showed me some of the basics of piloting. Somehow I imagined it as something athletic - the movies typically depicted pilots sweating over the stick to avoid catastrophe. In reality the ship did most of the heavy lifting itself once I told it where to go. Of course, you could fly it manually and I learned how to, but it never lived up to the image I had of it as a girl. Up until it did.
Again, most of it is a wild blur of events. I recall Razor shouting to the intercom that we've been compromised and suddenly the ship stared maneuvering wildly. I strapped in next to him into the copilot's chair, we put our helmets on and... the starts went spinning for a moment. I looked to Razor, but he wasn't there, not really. His body was for the most part in place, but his head and part of his body where his left collarbone was supposed to be was gone and through a gaping hole in front of the cockpit the vastness of space was laid bare. A Gauss round went clean along ships entering through the cockpit and exiting towards the rear side, missing the reactor just barely. My mind went into overdrive, I remember taking the stick... and the next thing I knew was that I was drifting though the Shi den Cloud, alone. I and Razor's body, a broken ship and a single ping on the scope - Ainu Depot.

Konnichiwa, Tachibana-san

You application to the Gen'an has been denied. One who seeks to throw off the mask of shame and put on another, does not inspire much confidence. One does not call the GC a terrorist organisation and seek to join it. Only cops speak such words when refering to us. And a hero we never heard of is either boasting or a lie. We hope you find the light you seek.

Character Name: Saki Fujimoto

Biography:

I was born on Planet New Tokio, in the heart of Kusari’s golden city: a place brimming with wealth, power, and the oppressive weight of tradition. My father, a small-time criminal, was always gambling away our future, borrowing money from his Hogosha contacts, the men who claimed to protect the Kusari commoners but were really nothing more than thugs in tailored suits. His gambling took everything from us, and when he couldn’t repay his debts, I became the price.

At the age of eighteen, my father sold me to a life I had no choice in. He handed me over to the gangs that run high-end nightclubs of New Tokio; places where the rich and powerful come to indulge in whatever they desire, and where women like me are nothing more than playthings. I danced in the shadows, a prisoner in glittering cages. My life became a blur of flashing lights, music, and the hunger in the eyes of those who thought they could do whatever they wanted with women like me. The more I danced, the more I saw the truth: Kusari wasn’t just a system that oppressed us. It was a system that depended on the exploitation of women to maintain its delicate illusion of order and prosperity. The patriarchy is not just a vague concept: it is the bread and butter of New Tokio's elite and those below them.

It wasn’t until I met Akiko, my roommate and one of my fellow dancers, that I understood the true depth of what I was living in. Akiko had a fire inside her, one I hadn’t seen before. After working hours, in the little time we had for ourselves, she spoke of revolution, of a way to fight back. But it wasn’t until her life was stolen from her by a deranged rich Hogosha customer, that I truly understood. After Akiko was assaulted by him, and lost her life over something petty, in her little belongings I found a book:'Golden Chrysanthemums in Bloom' by Yuyu Matsuda.

The words in that book spoke to me in ways I never thought possible. Yuyu Matsuda had seen through the lie of the Kusari government and their corporate cronies, just as I had. The Golden Chrysanthemums were more than a resistance; they were a promise of something better, something free!

That day, I made a choice. I would not be a pawn anymore. I would become a weapon.

I stole a cache of credit-chips together with a bag full of Cardamine from one of my pimps. With the help of an underground network of Blood Dragon sympathizers, competitors of my former employers, I managed to flee New Tokio and find refuge at Kinkaku-ji Station, not far from the shrine of Amaterasu herself, where I could finally breathe free air again.

The first thing I did with the stolen credits was buy an old second-hand fighter. It wasn’t much, but it would be enough. I didn’t need luxury; I needed to fight. And now, every time I look out into the void, I see the stars as the ultimate symbol of freedom, and I know that my life, my future, is mine to shape.

I came here for one reason: to join the Gen'an. I’ve been waiting for a response. The Golden Chrysanthemums stand for everything I believe in now: freedom, equality, vengeance against the system that sold us all out! The Kusari government, with all its political games and its misogynistic ways did nothing for me or for women like me. They kept us down, and I’ve had enough!

My name is Saki Fujimoto. I was born to dance in chains. Now, I fight to shatter them.

Reasons for joining inRP: I am ready to take my place in GC ranks. I am ready to strike back at the heart of the empire that abandoned us. And if you’ll have me, I will fight to destroy the patriarchy that poisoned my life and the lives of countless women like me.
