So you think Igiss is going to be that choosy about a ship's name, as long as it isn't something like the Dick Smallberries-class Outcast Funboat? I don't see why we should make a big deal about the name of a ship...I'm simply trying to keep it in line with the Borderworlds motif, and I think Estoc fits quite a bit better than Trident.

Oh, and the boys in the QCRF chat think that Estoc sounds more exotic and uber than Tridente. Just so you know:P

I didn't think that 'uber' was in those Bret's vocabulary..

What about the Mameluke, to fit the theme of curved swords? Scimitar, Sabre, etc...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mameluke_sword

It's technically called a Mameluke Sword, but it's often addressed as the Mameluke.

I'd really rather avoid Mamelukes; they're a lot less European than the other ships of the Borderworlds design (Dagger, Stiletto, Saber; Scimitar was another added design, so I won't consider that), and a curved sword doesn't really speak to me about the Outcast philosophy, especially one that's designed with a much more spinny and wavy style of combat in mind than Saber fencing or even Estoc jousting. I've always been of the opinion that the Outcasts were fencers. Foils and epees are more in line with their cultural style and philosophy, namely, being precise and finding their target with the point instead of a broad, sweeping cut like one would get with a mamaluke. Not to mention I, personally, hate the things:lol:

Achem, Epyon, the Sabre is virtually a Mameluke. And one more thing...one of the only nations to use the Mameluke in their militaries(dress uniform only, duh.) is none other than, yes...the United States of America.

Sabre:

It most definitely was NOT designed for poking of the most deadly degree.

However, it is up to you. I'm simply suggesting...it is your ship.

It depends what sort of saber, Elgatodiablo.

The saber you posted was a cavalryman's saber. This is a fencing saber.
