Benitez Secure Comm Channel - Selena_Benitez - 10-11-2010 Interesting day. Set off from Crete with Cruz and Valeria in tow, along with Zavier in the Scylla. We were joined by Giulliano of the Sails. Destination - Bretonia! Me and Cruz held up the Zoner transport Kryten as we passed through Omega-5. He was a very reasonable captain, and complied with all of our wishes. Most interestingly, he had picked up some classified documents which appeared to be of Liberty origin. The captain happily handed over the files, and we continued on our way to Bretonia. Things went a little pear-shaped in Leeds, where we ran across what appeared to be...well, a combined Nomad/BAF fleet. Unfortunately due to the disrupting effect Nomads seem to have on electronics, I don't have any visual records of this. At the same time we received a request for help from some Corsairs in Edinburgh. We split our forces - Valeria and myself both in Praetorians heading to Edinburgh to help deal with the BAF capital ships, while Cruz, Zavier and Giulliano stayed to sort out the lighters ships in Leeds. Unfortunately by the time we arrived in Edinburgh all of the Corsair vessels had been destroyed, leaving a sizeable BAF fleetwe didn't feel like taking on single handed. The others were in Dublin by this point, so we made to regroup with them in gold fields. Imagine our surprise upon jumping into Dublin, being greeted by two BAF fights, two 'Keepers', a bounty hunter and an Outcast. After a few choice words, me and Val scarpered for the 49 JH, easily evading their disruptors. We arrived at the JH with the BAF still in tow, where we did our best to keep them mentally occupied while the rest of our force moved across Dublin to support us. As we soon learned, appealing to the Bretonian mind is fairly monumental task. Fighting soon broke out and I didn't last long - seems like those Nomads gummed up my electronics something terrible... I'm writing this log from the comfort of Cruz's cargo hold, along with a few other Corsair pilots...I think you can guess how the fighting worked out. Is Bretonia openly supporting an alien menace now? They don't seem even that interested in trying to hide the fact. Apart from cases of obvious infestation, I think that's got to be the first time in my life I've seen Nomads and humans getting so friendly with each other... Hopefully those files Cruz picked up will be of some use. I need a drink... Benitez Secure Comm Channel - Alfonso_Benitez - 10-15-2010 ------------------------Incoming Transmission---------------------- Comm ID: Alfonso Benitez Source: Myrtos Villa, Planet Crete [Flight Log, Entry #41] The Numantia made a little trip to Omega-3, with Devante at the helm of the Toro and Valeria in her Decurion. It returned to Crete after helping to liberate some cargo from the unsuspecting transports headed to Douglas Station. ---------- I ran into a Raven's Talon class ship near Tripoli the other day. The transponder was strange ' 'a_hostile_vessel'. Scans revealed that it was a Freelancer ship. I then just made sure that it left the system without causing and trouble. -----------------------Transmission Terminated--------------------- Benitez Secure Comm Channel - Alfonso_Benitez - 10-15-2010 ------------------------Incoming Transmission---------------------- Comm ID: Alfonso Benitez Source: Myrtos Villa, Planet Crete [Flight Log, Entry #42] Today, I decided to head over to Omicron Eta to do a little recon for my personal reasons. I had only once flown a Benitez ship into that system – it was a bomber, and it did not end well. We escaped a large fleet of Outcast and Nomad ships, but only barely. However, my focus was the minefield that divided the warzone. I knew that the minefield was not uniform – there was at least one path leading straight through it. So, I decided to go look. Theta was remarkable quiet. No activity in there whatsoever. Reached the Eta hole in one piece I then made a short stop at Etna Base, and then launched to head out to of the field. I did meet some Outcast Sabre patrols on the way, but their ships are now a part of the solar breezes, and the pilots are detained. However, I must point out that handling around 6 Sabres, albeit flown by rookies, in 1 Gladiator can be somewhat dicey, by which I mean that nanobots and shield batteries came into play. After a sweep along the southern perimeter of the minefield, I soon found what I was looking for: I’ve also included a Navmap capture for the benefit of others: Once I had ventured into the ‘tunnel’, I found an opening that lead to the Outcast zone, and another opening which led to the Corsair side, but exiting at a more direct trajectory towards the Theta hole. After that I made my way back to Crete and landed. -----------------------Transmission Terminated--------------------- Benitez Secure Comm Channel - Alfonso_Benitez - 10-15-2010 ------------------------Incoming Transmission---------------------- Comm ID: Alfonso Benitez Source: Myrtos Villa, Planet Crete [Flight Log, Entry #43] Today was a day of acquisitions. First, I managed to get me hands on a limited edition Centurion heavy fighter. The ship is almost out of commission, thanks to the availability of alternatives, such as the Decurion and the Gladiator, both of which make it redundant. Nevertheless, I decided to get one, as not only would it complete my collection of Corsair ships, right up to the Imperator gunboat, but also because I had plans for it. For long, we had been launching light fighters into Bretonia on some of our missions. Using larger craft usually causes the BAF and BPA to run around in little circles and call much larger ships to their aid. However, I realised that the Centurion could be a viable solution. The ship sends out a low profile threat indicator, similar to the Legionnaire I have ready at Cadiz. If I specced it out right, I could probably use the Centurion instead of the Legionnaire. After a lot of trial and error, I found the perfect combo. The ship is not stationed at Cadiz, awaiting the opportunity to prove itself. ---------- I was in Omicron Gamma, running a routine patrol, when a message Duke Valentino crackled over the private channel. Apparently, there was a Corsair AI ship in Omicron 94. Valeria and Devante were also around, but otherwise engaged with Hunter patrols and destroyers. So I decided to investigate on my own. I found that the ship had an AI ID on board. It did not respond very well to direct human interaction, but then I gained access to its remote interface, and begin programming it. Apparently, it was a prototype Corsair AI vessel. However, in keeping with our rule of not allowing AI (experimental or not) into our system had to be upheld, and I programmed the coordinates for the Gamma hole into its navigation computers, and the ship then left the system. ---------- I was in the Numantia, when I witnessed an important incident. A Zoner transport from Freeport 5 was bringing supplies to Crete, and requested docking permission. However, upon scanning, I found that the hold was completely empty ' something I pointed out to the pilot. He then said something about a possible airlock failure and headed back to Freeport 5. I did not hear from him after that, as I had to dock the Numantia soon after at Tripoli for a scheduled upgrade. Yes, I had got a Capital Armor Upgrade Mk V installed on the Numantia. It's not the best upgrade available, but it's certainly better than the Universal Armor Upgrade Mk VIII that I had installed earlier. I hope this one will do better. ---------- After I left the Numantia in the hands of the engineers to upgrade, I picked up my bomber, which I had left at Tripoli a while back. On launching, I found a miner leaving Tripoli. Attempt to contact the pilot were futile ' apparently his comm. box was badly damaged or something. Nevertheless, I escorted the ship out of the system, and made sure that it did not mine any of our artefacts on the way out. -----------------------Transmission Terminated--------------------- ------------------------Incoming Transmission---------------------- Comm ID: Alfonso Benitez Source: Myrtos Villa, Planet Crete [Flight Log, Entry #44] Today, I was among the first to respond to a code red alert in Gamma ' several MNS capital ships had been spotted in the sectors around Skiros Station. We scrambled several bombers to the location. From the Benitez, there was just Zacari, in his Titan, and me in my Praetorian. Upon reaching the site of the battle, I could discern at least 4 Ranseur dreadnoughts, with 2 additional gunboats for support, and one snub fighter. The first target called was MNS ' Nightlight Angel. It did not last long. After this, one of the gunboats, Mory, began to take an unhealthy interest in shooting down my ship. This proved deadly for him as my torpedoes later explained to him. ---------- The Sardaukar, and The Old One were the next 2 targets to go down. --------- By this time, 2-3 of our Legates had reached the spot as well, and proceeded to make short work of the lone remaining dreadnought. This just left one lone fighter ' Pablo Sanchez, who Zacari claimed as his target. After this, I was a sleepy, so I just went back to Crete and landed. Kudos to the number of Sails pilots, and independent Corsair vessels who turned up to help. -----------------------Transmission Terminated--------------------- Benitez Secure Comm Channel - Jose Benitez - 11-02-2010 **** Incoming Transmission **** Comm ID ;- Jose Benitez Location ;- Battleship Delos, Om94 Message target ;- Alfonso and Selena Benitez Senor and Senorina, Would you please follow up on the representations made by Senor Pirx and see whether it is appropriate to do a deal of some sort. A great victory has been won today. Rumours of threats against Omega 50 and it's Zoner and Corsair populace have been proved largely overstated. I was on patrol when comms picked up a conversation between some confused dreamers and a coalition commander. How the Coalition believed the inhabitants of Omega 50 should learn what a 'strong hand' and 'iron will' would do for them, whether they liked it or not. Soon after, both RoS and SCRA appeared on my scanners and I closed for combat. Of the two, I chose business first. Pleasure would wait... Both Osiris class vessels of the coalition were not only routed but almost completely destroyed. I will suggest to the Zoners they talk to their friends in Minor about restricting spares and repairs for all Osiris class vessels. If this is done, the Coaltion flagships will stay out of commission for a long time. http://i431.photobucket.com/albums/qq36/ch...z/screen603.jpg With their flagships just smoking hulks, the rest of their battlefleet were in total confusion. http://i431.photobucket.com/albums/qq36/ch...z/screen604.jpg The Coalition threat is clearly overstated, mainly by themselves. Almost all Coalition ships were 'retired'. I returned to Mindelo after the fireworks and thats all they were. C.Benitez Benitez Secure Comm Channel - Coin - 11-15-2010 Comm ID: Pavlos Benitez Location: Myrtos Villa Hospital wing Message: I undocked from crete to shake some of the cobwebs off my titan and out of my brain, and proceeded to patrol Gamma. I flew over to Skiros, where I encountered 3 BHG ships, that moved out as soon as I moved towards them. Their rapid departure may have had something to do with the cruiser that was headed towards them also, but who can say in such matters? Tripoli was quiet, and so I returned to crete, where I was met by this Flotilla of drugsniffers. The battle raged long and hard, and there were far too many of them for us. I ejected from a burning cockpit and felt the gentle tug of Crete's gravity on my 'pod become an insistent pull, and as i crashed down into a large body of water - i have no idea where - I smashed the bones in my left leg. However, this did give me ample time to tinker with my neural net device, where I picked up a long range transmission headed to Theta from Liberty of all places: This communique might just mean nothing, but it sounds sinister to me. It may be the painkillers talking though. Never could understand why people take drugs, and when I am forced to, it makes me paranoid. /: Carrier found /: Decoding............. Saludo à los Cabaillero del Cielo I come here as an ally of your nation. Some may have seen me already in Omicron system. I am a free trader engaged in many deals and routes all around Sirius, legal or not. The routes I choose, the ally I make, the goods I am carrying aren't chosen with pure greed in mind but for political reason first. The trade should always be at the image of the trader, even - and especially - at the cost of profit margin and risk management That is why I always brought food to Crete, why I decide to engage good business relations with you, why I risk my life smuggling Artifact. After few trip to Crete and the encountering of the Corsairs garding the system, I quickly realise that what I heard was true. Corsairs are men of their word, Loyal to their ally, and Omicron Gamma started to feel to me like the safest place in Sirius. Alas, joining your organisation, wich I was thinking of, would prevent me from docking in a hell lot of place, and my heart is still hungry of travel. I propose instead a supportive alliance, would you consider it. I am humbly requesting the authorisation to cross and land in your systems giving that i will always enter them with a minimum of 1000 unit of food, and exit them with at least 2000 unit of Artifact. The rest of my cargo could be filled with a bit more valuable - but still needed - goods such as superconductor, always heading to one of your base. Today the BattleShip Extinctor granted me a daily authorisation but I rather make sure with the appropriate authorities. Furthemore, i need an audience on Crete to discuss face to face another business opportunity that I would like to present you. One that would be most rewarding for both of us, with quite few investements. Please do forgive my straigthforward manners if they have offended you, for I do not speak your langage naturally. I'll be all around Sirius, checking from time to time this channel for your answers. Regards. Viva Los Corsair.
