I think he is right. When we (Sails) got a gaian <strike>pen</strike>gunboat the gaians said they don't had any so we bought one from a dude that had a tech permission for it. However, the gaians had to say "ok, you can have it" before we actually "purchased" the ship

EDIT: I mean, i could understand having in-rp a tech grant sold, with oorp permission, but perhaps not in-rp permission, from the faction that granted it.
But being able to sell tech permissions wholesale without faction permission means....
The Brotherhood could sell tech permissions to every single person on the server for the Gaian gunboat, Gaian weaponry and Vulture 4 and 5's.
The Reavers could sell Corsair weaponry, GMG weaponry, the Kaichou bomber, Vampires, and Drakes to every single person on the server.
It goes on and on.
If this is really the way it works, I myself will be abusing the hell out of it.
Anyone want to join my Claymore merc squad?
We'd go around hunting reavers and Omicroners and Mandos and Hessians and Cardamine smugglers and stuff.

I suppose that the technology permissions are given primarily not to character or player, but to player&character connective; but I doubt that it was defined yet.
What makes me curious is that Renegades are once again doing something borderline, not ethical in general, but not rendered illegal. It's not even the use of loopholes, it's different.

That ship was given to a specific player after a specific RP, not to a name. Saying that someone "passed it's role play to you" its simply dumb. "His" RP its not just his, it's also the 'sair Council's RP. That old RP has nothing to to with what you guys are doing. By your logic I(rogue, hacker, etc) could take a Wraith from a merc/freelancer because I'll keep shooting the LN with it?
On the other hand, this would create a dangerous precedent and I don't think allowing people to trade (S)RP requests it's a good idea.
This is also yet another example of your group's disrespect for the community. Yet again you use an unethical and lame move to get what you would normally couldn't by bypassing both the rules and common sense.
Finally, fix your 'sair reps or at least have the decency to shoot a few corsair NPC's when you enter Gamma.
