Coalition Recruitment Thread - Junes - 01-09-2012 ' Wrote: As the Commandant pointed with his fingers on on Orlov, his pulse instantly skyrocketed. He certainly didn't expect to be picked that soon. Vladimir arose from his chair and moved towards the office door where the Commandant stood in the doorstep. He slightly clenched his fists to prevent them from trembling in agitation. Coalition Recruitment Thread - Kiith - 01-09-2012 While Lev was sitting on the chair one moment, he suddenly felt a stinging pain and a warm, thick liquid running down his head. He tried to get up, but it was so difficult to move at all. The phrase he heard from the commisar was already burnt into his mind. While he learned how to construct and repair anything they place in front of him, he heard it again and again. "Be sure of what you doing, goddamn!" How could he forget about that? But it wasn't over with this advise. It seemed it just began. Now the Commisar treated him, the good Lev, of being a spy. A person that actually never left Omega 52. "Commisar, I am...." it took quite some concentration to bring out a clear sentence, as the omnipresent pain made it difficult to stay the master of his own senses. I am sorry to dissapoint you...but I am no spy...I never left Omega 52...I barely know anyone. I exist for my work...and sometimes it even seems...my work exists for me..." Coalition Recruitment Thread - aznremix416 - 01-09-2012 Despite the reasoning the recruit had attempted to made, the Commisar did not buy it. The officer grunted in disapointment. "Wrong answer" Vorshevsky took aim at Lev's chest and fired once. The bullet seared through Lev as he screamed in pain. "Do not worry, that bullet went right through you, no vital organs touched... " Vorshevsky explained with little to no emotion. It was certainly clear that the officer was a good shot. Lowering his weapon, Vorshevsky got right in front of Lev's face. "You got one more chance, you give me some fed-up bull like that again, the next one will be right through your heart." He continued. "Now who are you, and why are you here?" Coalition Recruitment Thread - Kiith - 01-09-2012 The commisar didn't even take the time to form a complete sentence to show Lev his opinion about the answer. And one second later, another feeling joined the symphony of pain at his head. Taking he deep breath the injured Lev tried to gather the power to look as convinced as possible into the commisars eyes. "I am...Lev Iljitsch Andropov, and I am on the Trotzky to join the Fighter Corps of the great Revolutionary Army...And that because...I had enough of supporting the coalition with....screwing ships together...There is a fight going on in Sirius...and...there was a fight inside of the Coalition...I...I can't just watch. I know what I want to become...And either I manage it or I will have tio face....the consequences...I know that...You yourself said one shall know what he does...Whaat makes oyu know I am a spy...great commisar..." He certainly didn't expect to be picked that soon. Vladimir arose from his chair and moved towards the office door where the Commandant stood in the doorstep. He slightly clenched his fists to prevent them from trembling in agitation. As the recruit entered the room, Xu montioned for him to sit. Xu remained standing and paused for a few moments while he silently listened to the commotion from the next room. Smirking slightly, he banged his fist on the adjoining wall. "It's a marathon, not a sprint Commissar. Do at least try to keep them alive."
He turned his attention to the nervous man sitting before him."Quite dramatic isn't it? You can hear the man's screams of desperation. How things can change so quickly can't they? One moment you can be alive, the next - dead. The sheer power to change night and day can be brought in this very room. Your life can end in this very room. Now, save me the rhetoric I hear so many times another one of you enters this room. What motivates you?"
Coalition Recruitment Thread - aznremix416 - 01-09-2012 Vorshevsky stared down the recruit for 5 more seconds. During that time, Lev could have swore he saw the Commisar smile. A small one, almost impossible to see with the naked eye, but it was there. "Your right, I do not know if you are a spy or not." The officer said as he motioned to the guards. "One of you get a towel down here hmm?" Just as quickly, the guard came back and handed Vorshevsky a clean towel. The officer tossed it to the injured and bleeding recruit. "Wipe yourself off, your bleeding." As Vorshevsky showed a sarcastic smirk, Lev managed to bring himself back onto the chair as the Commisar paced slowly back and forth behind him. "You said you knew what you wanted to become, what exactly is it?" Coalition Recruitment Thread - Junes - 01-09-2012 When the Commandant was pounding against the wall, Vladimir almost imperceptibly raised an eyebrow and glanced cautiously into his direction. The first question hit him like a stone, however, he knew what he was going to say. "Since my youth I have admired the Coalition and dreamt of aspiring to its ideas and values one day. My decision to make my living earning money in the Omegas only showed me the drastic contrasts between Sirius' people and Coalition's people. It's all the merciless exploitation of the people who are not as privileged as others, their leaders who are obsessed of power and know nothing but dishonesty. I've experienced much out there, enough to make my decision that I want to make a change in this, to be able to serve the cause I believe in. It led me to you, to the Fighter Corps of the Coalition, which I deem, given my long-term fighter combat experience, the best for me." Coalition Recruitment Thread - mtjsmith - 01-09-2012 He listened to the recruits speech. "Hmm. You speak of leaders obsessed with power, you must have heard of the recent debacle of Premier Ling. Tell me why he failed."
Coalition Recruitment Thread - Junes - 01-10-2012 Vladimir slowly nodded and said: "In my opinion, Ling was one excellent example of what a leader's most severe vices are; he cared about his personal glory and luster, and not about his people's safety and well-being. In addition, Ling throve on the period of mourning of the Coalition's people for the reputed death of the only and true leader Katz, abused this very moment to transform the nation with his own, egoistical will. Ling basically failed because of his egoism and the abuse of power." Vladimir took a deep breath and awaited the Commandant's reaction. Coalition Recruitment Thread - Kiith - 01-10-2012 For a moment, just a short moment, Lev forgot about the pain, that irritating feeling in his head. It seemed he really was able to convince the commisar of not killing him...well, it also could have been the noise coming from the next room. But though, he was still alive and even got something to take care of the wounds. It took some seconds to clean the traces of blood on his head and his stomach, although somethin remained like red paint on him. After taking a deep breath Lev deemed himself ready to answer on the commisars question. "As pathetic it may sound, A Hero of the Coalition, Commisar. But not a kind of hero like everybody knows it, those kind of guys who pretend to safe the world, showing their might to the public. Those are actually worse than anyone else. In my eyes everyone is a hero that does his part for something bigger, as small the task and its result may look...I for example want to join the Fighter Corps for exactly doing that. Doing my part in the onholding fight against the ancestors of the Alliance and those who worship their ideals...." |
