Maintaining her cold, blank expression and tone, Elaina replied in a steady voice.
"My reaction would have to depend on if it was a civilian trader, or a military one. The civilian i will not engage, but i will attempt to peacefully convince him or her to divert to the closest coalition base, or at the very least give them information on the Coalition that would better his or her opinion of the SCRA. One the other hand, if it is a military vessel of Gallia...Well, my reaction would be the same to any other hostile military vessel encroaching on Coalition territory. "

Elaine finished her answer, and looked at the recruitment officer, awaiting to see how he would react to her answer. Using her peripheral to see the other recruit in the room with her, Elaine took in the key details, and looked for her weak spots, just out of habit.

Xu looked on unimpressed.

"Oh I might do this, or do that, or be more vague in my answer. If it's hostile you know I might do the same as what I do to everything that's hostile...."
He got up from the desk and paced around the room.

"Which is what exactly!? Have dinner with them!? Let's see you be more vague, explain Katz's New Economic policy why it is a tool of economic warfare."

Commisar Vorshevsky let go of the applicant. At the same time, two Coalition guards came into the room and grabbed Canis by the arms.

"Go wait outside in the lounge with the others, I'll be done with you soon" Vorshevsky Ordered.

As Canis was escorted outside, Vorshevsky yelled into the intercom to Alicia.

"Send the next one in, James Blackburn I believe"

James looked up from the application to see the receptionist gesturing for him to enter the commissar's office.

Putting the pen he was holding down, James got up and made his way into the room.

Upon entering, he stood at attention and glanced at the man in front of him. Bringing his arm up in a traditional Liberty Navy salute, he spoke "Blackburn reporting sir."

Masha continued to maintain her position. She did not allow her eyes to follow the man who held her fate in his hands. It was a test, of course, but at this moment and at the hands of this girl... it felt more like a joke. Who was this girl, and why should her fate be tied to hers? Vague indeed. The directive was clear as well as her orders... But why does this girl hesitate? Masha kept her eyes fixed upon a new spot on the wall, she noticed the blood droplets now...

She willed the girl to get on with it. Masha knew that any answer the girl could give at this point would be less that satisfactory and she made her peace with that. The longer she waited... the more angry she became.

Still, from her exterior, Masha could have been fashioned from a block of ice.

She waited.

As the girl on the chair quivered in fear, unable to answer - Xu looked disgusted.

"Well, since you've been unable to answer at all there's only one thing for it eh? Shoot her Biach."
He awaited the sound of the inevitable trigger pull.

He awaited the sound of the inevitable trigger pull.

Without hesitation or words, Masha accepted the pistol from the Xu. She turned the weapon upon the girl and fired a single round, through her temple. The wall now contained fresh droplets of blood and bonemeal with a bit of gray matter for texture. Biach then handed the weapon back to Xu, barrel facing her, should it accidently discharge.

"Thank you, Comrade Commisar", Masha said flatly, and returned her arm to her side. The ice flowed thickly through her veins. She returned her gaze to her preferred spot, awaiting further instructions.

Xu stood on, unmoved.

"Don't think for a moment you've earnt any trust or gained any credit in my line of questioning."
He looked at the recently discharged pistol, feeling it's warmth in his hands.

"Same question, this time - You answer it. Why is Katz's New Economic Policy an excellent tool in warfare?"

"Da, Comrade Commisar," Masha began, " Premier Katz has made it clear that the Coalition's primary objective is to 'stall the Gallic advance through guerrilla attacks on its front-line and reserve fleet.' Further he states: 'Our Revolution strikes at the roots of capitalism, the oppressive governments which keep their boots on the faces of every working man and woman in the universe. We are killers to a man, but we are not murderers. We are the common people, fighting for the common people.'"

"It is clear that, in this scenario, the Gallic trader would be an excellent opportunity to achieve two ends. The first would be to disrupt Gallic commercial expansionism by denying them profits of trade, thus striking at the root of capitalism, which is of course, trade. The second opportunity would be to send a message to both the Gallic government and her lackeys. I would order the vessel to purge her cargo and then order the Gallic to destroy her own cargo on the spot. I would secure photos of the event to include with my report. I would allow the trader to carry our message back to Gallia. If they did not comply, I would order the destruction of the vessel, Comrade Commisar."

Masha answered Xu in a respectful and attentive tone, noting his earlier statement. Masha was under no illusions as to her own part in this. Merit is earned and anyone can pull a trigger. She awaited his next directive.

Xu shook his head.

"You've been listening to far too much propaganda."
He pointed the gun at the recruit.

"The pursuit of profit is to be encouraged. It is what one does with the profit, and how he obtains it. Consider Liberty. They arrest anyone for the slightest offence and use their harsh judicial system to press those deemed criminals to be a resource. A workforce. This is blantant corporate greed and the pursuit of higher margins on profit."
He got up and whacked the recruit over the head with his gun.

"Consider the Coalition. Our workforce is well fed, watered, sheltered and work diligently producing everything we need and more. The more is then sold at a profit, which is in turn given back to the workforce to better their conditions. No greed, no treading down on workers rights for a higher margin, no worker resentment."
He smirked.

"As a weapon, imagine a time where Liberty, Bretonia, Kusari and Rheinland's workforce all down their tools and demand a better way. A fairer way. The shouts and screams of the people is more of a weapon than any gun, any bullet."
His face turned sour.

"In the Gallic trader scenario, you simply ignore it. We are not common pirates or thieves. We do not shoot or even threaten civilians. They are the workforce after all. The weapon yet to be unleashed. Let's try something else. Why must the Corsair threat be removed?"
