Make starkiller into reliable ALTERNATIVE to current missiles and sunkiller make into a nerfed Nova - allowing for some anti-cap capability but nowhere as good as what bomber can dish out.

Buffing fighter torps that much will take away the need for a bomber when pirating. And pirating right now is mostly based on bombers. You will see a decrease of bomber use in general i think. If that's good or bad, i don't know.

Remake the current firestalker, because it's silly.

Once that's done buff starkiller's hitpoints so it can't be blown up with a single CD.

Then you'll have a reasonable advantage over the missiles without changing them as they are now.

Well the thing we need to consider is that torpedoes will no longer just be alternatives, we have an entire line of ships (many Heavy Fighters now have this set up) which have a dedicated CD slot and a torpedo slot, meaning they will be much more common place now. Unless everyone puts a razor there, but HFs lack the powerplant to use those things very regularly.

Ugh. HFs shouldnt have torpedo mounts. They should be shooters, while VHFs are the utility ships.

I read all , i have imepression that all of You judjge as military engagements are need to be balanced.

I would point then that if those torpedo goes buffed not bad to give them some punch as snac - mini razor novas - fighter torpedo , but tranport then need to be buffed to sustain such carronade, cause traders would be ganked by fighters . Then that translation from bomber to fighter i think is too obvious .

I like idea of strong tracking missiles. Fighters are meant to dogfight and what can improve it is good. But firghter torpedos are redundant. Maybe fighter torpedos should `go` to Gunboats as those vessels are multirollers. More logic that GB can launch torpedo that fighter.

Asco Gunboat is golden example of that role. So trasfer figher torpedos and rearagne to be usable with GB.

Idea:

Remove torpedoes, move missiles to the torpedo slot, give us that extra class 9/10 slot back. I know this is right against the balance plan, but as it stands, torpedoes are awful, and apart from giving them an extra 20K damage, they're going to stay awful without turning them into missiles.

Never liked the magical balance idea of forcing everyone and their mother to use missiles or lose.

I don't know if just removing torpedoes is the way to go, it takes an option away from loadouts... if they were removed, what would be the alternative?

Kikatsu , why should fighters carry torpedoes at all ?

Fighter have guns and missiles and mines. bomber have pods torpedos and heavy guns. It makes classes of ship more different and that is good thing.

Torpedoes dates back from Vanilla freelancer when there was not bomber ships so fighter acted as all in one. We have mini razor , that is more than enough variety of staff fighter can mount.

What are torpedos for ? For bigger targets. Fighter is not meant to attack cruisers and GB. But with buffed missiles and guns and mines and minirazor they can attack transports if they like bigger fishes and can give some support in greater engegement to deal some damage to bigger ships if needed.
