RE: The big Disco timeline database? - Mao - 01-02-2014 Colonials arrive in Sirius. Colonials cause some trouble in Bretland. Brets going: NOEZ! WE UNEMPLOYED BECAUSE LOLONIALZ. <-- that seems familiar Colonials forced to leave Bretland. Colonials find Tau-44 and fortify it. Colonials fighting sniffers in the Taus. <-- me joining =CR= as a total noob Colonials fighting Bretonians in Bretonia and the Taus. Colonials selling a Zephyr to one of the zoner groups. Colonials leading a "research" expedition in the Omicrons. Black-ops ftw! (cool RP with order and others) <-- me moving up ranks Colonials playing "peace keeping force" in the Omegas during some incident. Colonials allying with Kusari. <-- me becoming head diplomat Colonials signing peace treaty with Bretland. <-- me leading negotiations (coolest RP ever) Colonials breaking alliance with Kusari after meeting Ame-Chan. <-- wasn't me this time Colonials allying with Bretonia. <-- Linkus as lead diplomat. I was on vacation. Colonials fighting with Kusari in Kusari and the Taus. Colonials helping one of the parties in some Coalition civil war. ------------------------------------------This is where Colonials stopped being cool------------------------------------------ Colonials fighting Gallia because: WE NEVAH BE SLAVES, BITCHES! Colonials evacuated from Tau-44 and moving to Moronado with minor casualties. Q_Q Colonials killing their beloved dictator. Long live Panzer! Colonials building a modern heavy BS out of thin air. Looked like shit but we loved it. <-- me leaving CR Colonials see their military split in two. Colonials reorganizing into a democracy (Funny) Colonials change their tag. The awesome =CR= becomes the banal CR| Colonials fighting guerrilla style against Gallia. Colonials getting back to their flat duck because the new BS was BS. Colonials still around? RE: The big Disco timeline database? - Ironwatsas - 01-09-2014 Ame-chan is still around. Also, when exactly did this happen? It would have had to been before even I went to Discovery (bulldogNK is visible in the background). I am aware it was the legendary RM-TBH war, but what is the timeframe? Is it 4.84 or earlier? Another problem is getting the Sirius Years, Real World Years, and Versions to line up. Since we had quite a bit of dissonance there. Yet another issue is the depth of RP/Admin Policies dictating how things were operated at various times. For example: Early Discovery (before it was an "RP" server, with lots of import ships.) Clan Era (Groups like NovaPG, AW, Phantoms, Helghast, Bushido, Hellfire Legion, SA, Etc. Their existence is important enough they'd need to be reconciled with current RP.) Golden Age of RP (when all the movers and shakers were around. 4.84/4.85 era) Gallic War era (Degenerate era as I like to call it. I won't be shy about it) Whatever we're calling it now that Igiss is gone and the admin policies are changed. Nearly all of the 'classic' factions are gone, and the admins, rules, and mechanics are changing. Now THAT I remember. One thing I'm curious about is the Outcast-Corsair war. Was that written in by the dev team, or does it take its inspiration from actual server events? RE: The big Disco timeline database? - Ironwatsas - 01-10-2014 It's a little of both. It was a turf war extrapolated from Vanilla FL (see rumors on Yanagi and old news articles), but blown out of proportion by Discovery players. They've been dukeing it out as long as I've been here. It's quieted down almost completely as of late, since Omicron Eta was mostly closed off, and Sigma-13 isn't a huge point of contention. There is, was, and always has been animosity between Corsairs and Outcasts, but the full scale war and massive invasions of Alpha and Gamma are a Discovery invention. I don't believe it was consciously planned beforehand by anyone really. It just sort of happened. Most of this was back in the era where there were several coalitions of player factions and independents who just wanted something to kill, and Gallia and the SCRA hadn't become huge at that point. Back when you had the 101st/Shadow Outcast Brigade/RoS fighting the Brotherhood/OPG/Benitez. =CR= would periodically mess with the outcasts, and the RHA and BHG would mess with the 'sairs. RE: The big Disco timeline database? - lIceColon - 01-10-2014 Well, I set up a prototype database on google sites here. Nothing fancy but should get this idea up and going. Do your part and participate now, try the input form and give me some feedback RE: The big Disco timeline database? - Ironwatsas - 01-16-2014 A problem occurs. Nobody, myself included, remembers the exact dates of all of this. Most of the forum threads or screenshots I could use to find out are so old that they would have been long since eaten by the forum. We'll need to go back in time to dig them up. Look for anything big enough that we remember it. So that puts it in 4.83, cause .84 came out somewhere in december that year. RE: The big Disco timeline database? - ProwlerPC - 01-19-2014 Well I couldn't get exact dates for everything yet, I also might not have gotten everything I could in here either so some edits might appear here as I uncover more details I mighta missed. Still for the one's I couldn't get dates I did as much research and cross referencing as I could so that I could place it all in proper order. It's as close as I can get it at the moment and I'd be happy to hear anyone's input if they know something I've missed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GMG Timeline 60 A.S. - Sigma-13 discovered. 250 A.S. - Catastrophic decline in ocean harvesting on Honshu, the second Kusari colony, causes settlers to search for alternative means of survival. Merc Wars in Liberty due to Natalie Callahan infamous and glorious bounty on Liberty Navy and Security Forces capitals. More than 700 or 800 million credits were collected by various mercenaries/freelancers, all independent. Basically, capitals that logged in Liberty were immediately showered with novas and snacs, due to the inability of the lawful forces to keep track of what freelancers and mercenaries were doing it. Another contract to kill mercenaries and freelancers shooting lawful capital forces appeared after a month, resulting in the Merc Wars, where you would see mercenary vs mercenary while capitals kept exploding all around them. |
