I'm sure quite a few may have this question. I bolded the sentence on the ID that very specifically answers Vulk's question. RE: "Player can attack X,Y,Z any were" - Pavel - 02-05-2014 Just remember you can't go "die Synth!" on a Synth IDed transport as LWB/FA - you have to make a demand, unless that ship is carrying SynthPaste/SynthGel. But if it is carrying those commodities, it doesn't really matter is it Synth ship or not, you can just go "die!" per ID. Discovery RP 24/7 Rules RE: "Player can attack X,Y,Z any were" - Blodwyn O'Driscoll - 02-05-2014 LWB ID Wrote:- Can attack any ships within their Zone of Influence, except transports. When i read this i do understand that LWB could attack a synth vessel, anywhere, even if it's a transport, and without making a demand. RE: "Player can attack X,Y,Z any were" - Pavel - 02-05-2014 No, because there's reason why "may treat faction xyz as combat target" was removed. If it's freighter/transport demand must be issued. Although I see the problem with it, it could be better worded in the ID. I'll talk to admins about it. RE: "Player can attack X,Y,Z any were" - Blodwyn O'Driscoll - 02-05-2014 LWB ID Wrote:- Can attack any ships within their Zone of Influence, except transports. Yes it's a problem of wording.( when you read the first line where you can attack any ships excepted transports, compared to the third one where it is not stated that transport are an exeption) RE: "Player can attack X,Y,Z any were" - Jansen - 02-05-2014 (02-05-2014, 05:58 PM)Blodwyn ODriscoll Wrote:LWB ID Wrote:- Can attack any ships within their Zone of Influence, except transports. Cool, bestest ID ever. Now to the problem: The whole thing might be a bit confusing, so Ill try to explain it somehow. Right now you seem to set "Can attack X anywhere" equal to "-May treat X as combat target". Only the second line would allow you to shoot a transport without a demand because you can "treat it as combat target". This means 3.3 can be ignored. The "Can attack X anywhere" line however means that you are allowed to attack the ship out of your ZOI, however it does not allow you to shoot it on sight, it merely specifies that you are able to go after your worst enemy even if you meet it out of your ZOI. This means that a demand is still necessary should you encounter a transport. So in case of the LWB ID this means: You are allowed to attack a Synth Foods ship out of your ZOI, but have to make a demand if its a transport. You are allowed to shoot EVERY ship that carries ugly Synth things without a demand. Hope that clears this up a bit. That clears things up. But it should be understandable, just by reading the ID. I still think, i would need a rewording to make all of this obvious : it's confusing to see the exeption on transport on the first line and not on the third.( so you could think it means "may threat X as combat target" and therefore ignore 3.3. ) Another example that you can still make a demand ( and must if it's a transport ) to a synth vessel, even out of your zoi . |
