In most cases, even if your 'opponent' in said argument is swayed by your input to rethink their position, they will very rarely admit it.
They don't want to come off as waffling or wishy-washy, so they'll argue on blindly even in the face of their own indecision - in most cases.
Often the last resort is picking off single sentences where they think they may have the high ground, rather than viewing the argument as a whole or - god forbid - admitting they might have been partially incorrect.
Very few people can separate themselves from the argument they are engaged in, and view winning as a reflection on their value and self esteem.
So, No.
Don't bother.
Say your peace and move on.
Time and healing is the only thing that changes minds.
Pain solidifies the stance of the prideful.
In time, with luck. Your 'opponent' will heal and grow, and change their own mind.
