RE: A Junkers' Enterprise - LoydWingly - 09-10-2014

I was asleep in my ships living quarters when I heard Bills voice over my radio informing me on the next job. After receiving the new orders from Bill, I get up, and fix me a quick bite before taking off. I won't say where or how I obtained the software, but I did obtain it. Finding the particular software was not half as hard as avoiding the police patrols in Liberty. When I first entered Liberty space with my dubious cargo I was worried. That feeling deepened when the first Liberty Police Inc entered my scanner range. If it hadn't been for the fact that almost immediately a group of Liberty Rogues flew by, I am sure I would of been caught. While the two factions fought it out I readjusted my course. Having a back door into Puerto Rico helps considerably. It really didn't take long to get back to Vieques, but the stress from the flight was getting to me. I decided to hit the bar and wait for Bill to collect his cargo, so I could collect my credits.

Things have gotten out of hand with Muelski on board the Controller. The bar on board has had more activity in the past week than a normal year. The sound of soft snoring can be heard in the dark room. It is overshadowed by a louder snore. Small lights slowly start flashing and a console to the side of the room. The lights flicker on. Two men are passed out cold in the bar. An overweight man in a lab coat lays face down on the floor. An older man is slumped back in a leather recliner. As the lights come on, his eyes open into slits. He leans forward, shakes his head, and asks himself "How long've we been here?"

The overweight man on the floor slowly rolls over onto his back. He pats the ground next to him until his hands find a half empty bottle. He pulls it up to his lips and takes a long drink. "I love this ship. You and I have been trying very hard to empty this bar for a week. Now for the love of god, will you please turn those lights down!?"

The old man stands up on shaking legs. He walks over to the console and presses a few buttons. It appears Loyd left a message for him almost a week ago. Too much time has been wasted on hard liquor. It's time to get back to work. He turns around slowly, facing Alex. "Best you git back to yer lab. We got work to do, an we done wasted too much time as it is." he tells Alex. The two men leave the bar, one to the bridge, one to the newly created lab.

As the Controller pulls out of Vieques its pilot sends a quick message to Loyd. The Controller slides into its normal spot alongside Vieques. Soon after Loyds ship pulls up to its normal spot. Loyd doesn't appear too happy about having to wait so long, but transfers the cargo nonetheless. As the two ships dock Bill recieves a message from Loyd. He is planning on taking a vacation and may not be available for future deliveries.

For the past several days Controller has been without a captain, as Bill has been piloting other ships in his fleet. The old Junker steps onto his bridge. Running his hands lightly across the back of his pilot seat he looks pleased. It must have been a profitable week in the scrap fields. As he takes his seat the intercom chirps. Only one person on board that would be contacting him. Eager hands fly deftly across the controls, shortly after a voice crackles through the speakers.

“Glad to see your back on board Bill. We have completed the first phase of our research here. The project you have contracted us for is possible.” He states, pausing for dramatic value. “But, it will require more than just the software you have provided.”

The old Junker waits for Alex to continue, but the intercom remains silent. With a slight amount of irritation entering his voice he asks “Well, Alex, what all do you folks need?”

“Oh, right. In order to create the equipment required we will need some specialized resources. I have compiled a list. It is here somewhere.” The sound of objects falling and papers ruffling can be heard over the intercom. “Yes, here it is. At the moment I require approximately 80 units of Industrial Hardware, 30 Nanocapacitors, 20 Nanotubes, and I believe 40 units of Superconductors. That is probably overkill, but better safe than sorry I say.” Alex states with a slight chuckle. He suddenly yells into the intercom, sounding more than a little angry "And you have not restocked your bar. I must say, these work conditions are most unsatisfactory."

A frown appears on the old Junkers face. “Ain't gonna be easy findin all that. Had a guy workin fer me, but I ain't seen hide nor hair of em. I'll have to git someone else to git it all. An don't you worry, I'll git some more whisky on board soon.” He states and immediately shuts off the intercom. He leans back in his chair and contemplates who he can contact, or more to the point, who he can trust to obtain the materials...
