No. You impose your ideas of lore onto the rest of us, without us being able to have a say. There is a lot of established lore, and it is pretty open to variations without breaking it. I would suggest keeping it simple, rather than going grand. RE: Non-Sirians? Second Coalition? If anything is imposing ideas of the lore over the rest of the players, it is Gallia for sure, and Colonial Republic. Both do not belong to the Original Sirius, speaking of "imposing ideas". I'm far from imposing anything on anyone. I'm just asking. There's an old saying that "if one is making questions, he won't be lost", or something like that, don't know how it is translated into English. Excuse me if you felt violated by me simply asking around, because - as I wrote in the very first line of the original post - I do not even want to create such faction, but to see if such idea would be possible for other user, in the future, perhaps. RE: Non-Sirians? Second Coalition? Possible? - Mímir - 01-19-2015 I totally agree about asking questions and brainstorming publicly. Also about Gallia and CR. But saying that there is a "new" new sleeper ship is an addition to lore that can't be ignored, just like the French sleeper ship of Gallia. The same goes for aliens, furries and other such things - they are events too big to be ignored, and thus affect us all. RE: Non-Sirians? Second Coalition? Possible? - Tabris - 01-19-2015 I'm just gonna slip in the Discovery Canon on Sol's Fate. The Most commonly held 'fact' is that Sol is toast, kaputt, history after the Nomads had their bit of fun with it. So not likely to get anyone else from there. *shrug* RE: Non-Sirians? Thank you for clarification, yet this doesn't explain what all those Chinese, Russians and others are doing still alive. Coalition Sleeper ship? And no one mentioned earier colonization attempts. Neither Starlancer, not Freelancer, guarantees there were no other attemps (like with Lolonials). RE: Non-Sirians? Second Coalition? Possible? - Chuba - 01-19-2015 you wot m9 must not creat new factions RE: Non-Sirians? Second Coalition? Possible? - Tabris - 01-19-2015 Just a peek into the SCRA-Coalition Lore: The Current Chinese/Russian Populations are from the sabotours and spies that slipped aboard the Sleeper Ships (Most seemed to go onto the Hispania, the next largest amount are from the Rheinland and Kusari, the Bretonia and Liberty had very low levels of infiltration. Our lore dictates that we helped fan the flames of the Von Roh rebellions (although we were too small in numbers and too spread out at the time to take real advantage of it to usurp any power.). There are 'rumours' of another sleeper ship, however even I don't know if they were made Canon or not. *shrug* A large portion of our Population simply 'took up' Russian/Chinese names to 'carry on the spirit' of the Coalition, only a small population are true-blue Coalitioners. It's a sorta 'Culture Asssimilation' only with those who come in are 'absorbed' and take up the culture of those who came before as taught by those left over. *shrug* RE: Non-Sirians? Second Coalition? Possible? - Fluffyball - 01-19-2015 It would be kinda weird to see Caucassian bearing Chinese name... ...on the other hand it's less crazy than Genghis Khan being ginger (yep, he was in real life). RE: Non-Sirians? Second Coalition? Possible? - Tabris - 01-19-2015 Most those with 'Chinese' names would be those defected from Kusari mate. XD RE: Non-Sirians? Second Coalition? XD There is still problem with Chinese being dead language for over 800 years, unless Kusari is using Chinese as well - while Japanese is relatively "easy" to be replaced with Latin Alphabet, every single actions like that aimed towards the Chinese failed miserably, as Chinese is not compatybile with Latin alphabet because of too much accents and tonnals, even if we make language simpler (Mandarin). I'm pointing this out, as Kusari (Japanese) is unable to write down Chinese names (unless Japanese versions e.g. Song Wukong = Son Goku) due to lack of proper vowels (in exception of very few direct Chinese-to-Japanese words, Xia/Hsia, as present in Japanese Riichi Mahjong - yeah, nerdy side of me). Not to mention most of the Chinese names are not written the same, as Zhao =/= Zhao or Cao (prounouncation: Tsao) isn't exacly the very same Cao, even if it is homophone. That's why I mentioned Latin Alphabet fails miserably. Unless there are all the data over the major languages (Chinese language group is one of languages used widely within UN today) that were used before Sol Exile and someone just reintroduces the language, as well as some games (Go being the simplest and the oldest game, Hanafuda due to the aestetics and being gambling game - especially on Golden Dragon Casino). |
