Hello, lots of crew seem to be taking breaks now, I'm writing this report up while drinking that bottle of gin the Direktor gave me. Tastes as crisp and fresh as it normally would, we put on the music from Franz Hellers collection, seems nice. Meanwhile, i feel like the work on this vessel is coming to a brief hiatus, we don't have much planned yet, it seems we're pushing the limits to what we can do now on its internals.Everyone has put everything on standby or minimum, its nice to sit down at the bar and serve yourself a nice cold glass of Gin & Tonic. Gave the crew a well deserved vacation, I'll be back out on the field shortly and probably without this vessel until its cleared. - Enfield
Technical Specifications 23/03/23A.S. Ship Name: “The-Zealous” Ship Registry: “The-Zealous” - U-001 Ship Class: "Shukensha" Renzu Modular Liner Power Plant: HTTB-9P (High-Temperature Thorium Breeder Generation 9 - Prototype) Secondary Power Plant: H-Fuel Reactor Turbine Engine Type: HNP-E3PS (Hybrid Nuclear Pulse - Engine Type 3 Prototype Scale variant) Fuel: DT-Fuel, Thorium MOX, H-Fuel (Optional) Component Updates: [None] HTTB-9P & HNP-E3PS | Testing results Its with great pride, that... Its done! It works, its going well, the first up-scaled prototype of the HTTP and HNP-E series is ready built and purpose ready. Running through tests of the main reactor, both research teams came into the conference room aboard the ship and finally came to a presentable conclusion. From what we can gather, the consumption or life of these Thorium-MOX pellets is estimated to be around 6 Years~ or so, we're unable to quickly or efficiently remove them but instead control the reaction of the pulse process, this showed a sharp increase of temperature as the neutron flux was also increasing. This was confirmed as we changed to a rapid pulse process that repeatedly caused reactor to go into critical, generating sufficient energy. We did this by removing all control rods from the main core, allowing the neutron flux to continue we soon reached maximum output of the reactor, hitting the estimated 1.2 Terajoules. We're hoping to see further development into pushing this thing further, but as our only prototype, we're not going to exceed recommended output unless preforming a "SaF" procedure when power demands are desperate such as combat operations that require either an immediate cloaking protocol or increased weapon draw. Tests on this will be reported below. The engine on the other hand was preforming excellently, with the additional afterburner thrusters, this vessel managed to stay at peak agility when forcing DT-fuel to be ignited, but since the scale of this spacecraft wasn't designed to be used by this type of engine, the resulting efficiency isn't surprising. We found an increased 10% usage of DT-fuel compared to the MK-IV variant of the engine series, although the result was that the engine preformed 130% more efficiently than the H-Fuel counterpart, its agility performance is matching the latest of war vessels of the new "Tirpitz" series. Although, depending on the Quality of DT-Fuel, its shelf life is reasonable. For ship vessels of this size and its regular operational history, the storage worth of DT-Fuel equivalent to what we store H-Fuel that we can store on this vessel would last us at least 3-4 years without refueling or resupplying at peak engine output. I spent so long in the basements of Nuremberg for this, I’ve been working on a stealth systems project for the past few months and have come to realize that the test system that was on board this vessel was at risk. Its only lightly defended and relies on a cloaking technology that we have yet to fully grasp. So I’ve passed on permission for the XU-001 “Zealous” to be upgraded, but the first step is to upgrade is structural strength to suit the amount of weight its to carry and damage it is to resist. I’ll see that this step is completed before the main phase of Ghost Veil.

I sought that ships developed these days are Inefficient in utilizing stealth and camouflage systems and rely on technologies such as EM- cloaking devices to fully conceal themselves with a highly inefficient system, one that takes up so much space in terms of just external power and relies upon technology that we obviously cannot fully understand or manipulate precisely. I decided to dump the complete reliance of this “Cloaking” technology. Whatever material it was developed on it’s not going to be possible to see it becoming a completely human reliant variant. I want to move away from this “Alien” technology and hopefully develop our own system. Although the XU-001 will need to test these self-developed technologies first but with the sketched up requirements the ship will need to go through many modifications before any of it is installed. This would require a:

I've sent out a delivery request to the logistics team to see about getting the supplies we need for the construction of this vessel. In the mean time, I'm waiting on the rest of the supplies to steadily flow in, the construction teams are working overtime on this redesign and overhaul plan i sent them to reconstruct this vessel into a new face. I don't know if its going to work but thats the whole point of an experimental prototype. We recently just got the order filled in on the power management and regulation systems and hopefully they're ready to go within the next week.
Technical Specifications 24/11/23A.S. Ship Name: “The-Zealous” Ship Registry: “The-Zealous” - XU-001 Ship Class: Modified "Shukensha" Renzu Modular Liner Power Plant: HTTB-9P Engine Type: HNP-E3PS Fuel: H-Fuel / Thorium MOX / MOX Component Updates: [None] Power management and regulation. What I've come to understand that more equipment is being installed onto the ship in recent times, and there is an even bigger list of things being planned. But this simple commercial grade power management system isn't going to handle things like battleship grade weapons, we'd probably fry the power lines and cause a bulkhead to melt as well as electrocuting a few people if we even try. One of the agents currently working within the Logistics department just offloaded the final batch of Module Charlie, so the team should have everything They need for wiring everything up before we have to armour up this beast. I'm going to have this ship entirely overhauled with newer and more reliable power management and regulation systems, I want this entire thing done instead of jury rigging the cables when we're installing new hardware and prototypes. Although not a new technology or an amazing discovery, its a worth while investment if we're going to continue on this project. Anything that needs to be carefully controlled like voltages on electronics and avoid static damage that could cost millions because a faulty capacitor decided to discharge its entire load on a higher voltage across the navigation systems. This is also crucial since we're also installing some delicate systems such as the stealth systems, camouflage devices and small electronics, I cant risk them being fried due to a cheap capacitor. This should hopefully not happen with the new system being installed. Quote:If I'm wanting to fit more heavy defense systems on board my ship, I'll need to see if i can find favors others owe me. Outcasts seem like a good start since i can pull a few strings there and maybe offload something for them and come to an agreement. I don't want too many Rheinland markings on this thing. The less people that see this as a Buro ship, the better. END OF LOG RE: "The Zealous" | Test rig / Spy ship project [CLASSIFIED] - Geoffacake - 01-24-2017 SCHATTEN INTERNAL NETWORK
The power management system has greatly helped with the addition of the new equipment. I've started to notice that my phone and augmentations seem to charge up a lot faster and fuses need replacing less. But with Module Alpha just delivered, we've just managed to install the new cryo-cooling facility that now manages to get to almost every end of the ship that needs to have heat moved away from its components. Downside is that I'm sometimes freezing my ass off in corridors that don't have heating installed.
Technical Specifications 24/01/24A.S. The current Meta-stability cryo-cooling facility had to be expanded due to already available deck space The HTTB-1 has its own coolant and heat dispersal system and is currently getting a secondary fitting to the expanded facility; But everything else from weapons, electronics and gradual heat build-up in the ship from other sources. I can assure confirm that life-support's air conditioning won't be able to cool the standard RBT-61h "Hummel" Battleship weapon platform. Cryo-cubes are beautiful things, we've installed a heat containment and transfer facility for them similar to how the super-computer cooling is done and the pumps and lines reach back and fourth across the ship. But we due to safety reasons, we also included a redundant system that can re-route coolant from the reactor to this section. But obviously at some point we need to bleed the system of heat that gradually builds up and needs to go somewhere that isn't in the ship, using a helium transfer system and an array of heat sink radiators, we take the heat and dump it into space. Depending on the location, a thick nebula cloud can be used by the heat sinks passively to transfer the heat into the surrounding particles. But if we're in an open vacuum location that doesn't allow the transfer of heat, we use a helium that passes through the heat sink fins and transfers the heat into the helium particles and is then dumped into space. Dumping heat into space is advised when we're at a low combat condition to minimize heat detection signature. The cooling system has made a dramatic effect on the tempreture that we can force equipment to work at. With this extended system, we can possibly run the SaF process from the engine without effectively causing damage to it for around 3 months before we start seeing wear and tear on the reactor. One thing that seems to be behind scheduled is the development of the top layer skin of the active-camouflage system, something that is crucial to the mirage system in disguising the ship from direct visuals. But right now, the restructuring of the ship does take time... The hull is in pieces and I would like to wait for at least a combat effective Armour is ready.

If the ship is engaged within full camouflage and stealth abilities, the heat signature and gasses from the engine would still give the position of the ship away. But the type of fuel used within our engine has some strange properties as I discovered. DT fuel has a glowing effect when its temperature is at of 2000C, quickly dissipating as it is cooled as its hit by the vacuum of space. What was developed was a small internal cooling chamber designed to have particles that leave the engine vent will hit the vapor chamber immediately before its able to reach into the open areas of space. As noted, movement of the ship is still nominal as the gasses leave the main engine vent at high speed producing force against the super-structure of the ship and moves into the vapor chamber cooling tunnel, but its within a self contained area until the gasses of cooled down and aren't visible against a IR scanner. Ghost Veil study document "Meanwhile, further studies with the HNP engine using its regular DT fuel found that when exposed to a coolant area after the gas is forced out of the engine, heat dissipation but also the signature “Glow” of the engine propellant is degenerated heavily. What has been designed is a honeycombed funnel with running coolant pipes similar to a vapor chamber and an included fan-assist to have a constant flow of cooled gas movement, this coolant matrix runs through an expansion of the engine funnel after most of the momentum energy is expended from the propellant within the hotter chamber which still provides the regular amount of thrust from an engine, just within a self contained chamber to avoid radar and visual detection. The still hot but mostly slowed down gasses that don't contribute towards the movement to the vessel (Green) then run through a vapor chamber cooled funnel (Blue) which cools hot gases on contact. With DT fuel, this means that both the noticeable heat signature from its excited particles and signature glow almost disappears completely (Grey). Although what was found with this is that one, a ship would need a dedicated cooling system for the vessel, but would require something to cool ultra-hot gasses, something comparable to a cyro-cooling bay dedicated to cooling various systems for a vessel and they’re relatively large. And a vessel would also need to re-design its entire platform around it." Quote:Progress on the redesign of the prototype is coming along nicely, I'll need to see about doing more paperwork to make sure everything is in order. The logistics team seems to be doing well in their covert deliveries and things seem to be arriving faster than i predicted... And that's running my bank a little dry. Months at the underground facility on Nuremberg working on the Ghost Veil program was mostly focused on this. How can we develop a skin for a spacecraft that makes almost virtually invisible to radar and artificial detection methods. The research took months, the development and construction took a hell of a lot longer, but the panels are ready to be altered and mounted according to the final design. At this point we can't call it the same ship anymore. This is no longer a "Shukensha" Class Renzu Liner. The ship class is as currently written down as a XU-001 Spectre-Class. And as a result Classification levels for the security of this research project have risen. Any access to information and details regarding this project will need to be approved by the Direktor.
Technical Specifications 18/05/24A.S. Ship Name: “The-Zealous” Ship Registry: “The-Zealous” - XU-001 Ship Class: Modified "Shukensha" Renzu Modular Liner XU-001 Spectre-Class Advanced Technologies craft Power Plant: HTTB-9P Engine Type: HNP-E3PS Fuel: H-Fuel / Thorium MOX / MOX Component Updates: [None] Stealth Radar Absorbent Material panels. One of the biggest problems we faced with constructing the Passive-RAM coatings was actually generating a smooth surface for it to be flat and secure both its absorbent and diffusion abilities. The problem was actually creating these epoxy panels and ensuring that air-holes were completely vacant from several layers, most of the panels we made had to be reworked or completely recycled, some scrapped due to catastrophic failures. Worst of all, every single panel will be custom cut, almost all aren't identical to one another because of the size and shape of the ship. But we've still conducted this is an experimental stealth ship, specifically conducted to maximize stealth potential to then extend gradually onto other space-craft, Possibly light cruisers, gunships, fighters and bombers. But here we are, tens of thousands of panels ready for applications all over the Zealous rig. The current break down of the passive panels can be given to 2 main parts. The Carbon-Nanotube mesh on the bottom layer of the PSAT system which was probably one of the hardest to fabricate due to the varied density that they're required to have depending on the depth of their location on said panels. The Iron-Ball paint that is generally found on the middle and top layer that make up the majority of the PSAT panels. Ghost Veil Project Documentation Shape diffraction How standard ship detection works is still through a send-receive radar and detection of the surfaces that a ship's cross section picks up and it's inefficient angles reflect them back to source radar. What shape diffraction does is that when it hits irregular angles on a vessel, instead of being reflected back to the radar source, it almost breaks up into directions opposite of the radar; never to return to the source directly from the vessel. This gives an impression of there being almost something else of a completely different size on radar, modifying the current XU-001 into a more desirable shape towards a smaller cross-section, the vessel appears smaller than your average gunship with the use of shape diffraction on its own, it's efficient enough and for smaller vessels like fighters and gunships. low powered radar systems on smaller ships is all they can spare unless you come across the occasional lane hacker which should still have a difficult time trying to obtain a proper fix from a distance away. Carbon-Nanotube mesh Specialized carbon nanotube meshes are applied by constructing a weave mesh of carbon based atomic lattices, although this can vary on the density of the nanotube mesh, it can handle higher frequencies of EM signals. And since carbon nanotube structures are semiconductors, this would only allow the obtained EM energy that has impacted the network to continue into one direction, preferably towards the inside the ship and not return the data to the sender. Effectively denying any information to the target vessel. But since the density of the nanotubes are limited and can only become less dense that structural integrity in a negative pressured environment (Vacuum) would alter the network regardless due to decompression. The advantage that carbon nanotubes have is its structural strength compared to some metals, due to the strong structural atomic integrity and precision of said components, it may take many days just to procure a small 15M² block of nanotube mesh and would require huge amounts of extracted carbon or readily constructed nanotube lattices. To adapt to this, the most suitable method for this application is the underside of stealth material layers, being sandwiched between the bottom layers of the PSAT and above the battle-strengthened hull. Iron-Ball paint Although called a paint, this material is a form of solid construction tiles. Iron ball paint was one of the first stealth technologies used by any known human military. Although most considered it obsolete, it’s still seen its use in effectively lowering a ship's profile signature. Although we’ve seen it would be more effective at sealing loose energy signatures that come off the stealth ships own systems. How this technique is done is by having small iron balls coated in an isolative material suspended equally between and stacked on-top of each other by a thick epoxy resin paint to create a 3D network. How it reduces the radar signature is through the result of radar waves that create molecular oscillations from the magnetic field that the iron balls create within the tiles. This oscillation creates small amounts of heat, so the energy from radar waves has to transfer its energy heat rather than having that energy reflect back to the sender, essentially absorbing the scanner and radar detection energy. This heat energy is absorbed by the spacecraft structure by conductive materials and then dissipated internally to avoid IR detection methods. Quote:I need to keep listening to music to keep my head sane at this point. I got a few drives with a ton of songs on from a DJ down on New Berlin on Sunday. Generally something that people would find unappealing that their Direktor is listening to some electronic house and drum & bass, but out of all honesty I have the lack of interest of their opinion to even care... I'm 25 and I'm building a stealth ship. I can do what the hell I want. END OF LOG RE: "The Zealous" | Test rig / Spy ship project [CLASSIFIED] - Geoffacake - 03-02-2018 SCHATTEN INTERNAL NETWORK
This was unfortunately one of the most longest parts of the process. We reached a problem where we'd developed the armour system after we'd manufactured most of the stealth composite coatings and passive stealth systems. An oversight in its development is that there has been either incremental or drastic changes within its construction design. But hopefully with most of them out the way... We can finally start changing this things looks.
Technical Specifications 10/10/24A.S. Ship Name: “The-Zealous” Ship Registry: “The-Zealous” - XU-001 Ship Class: XU-001 Spectre-Class Advanced Technologies craft Power Plant: HTTB-9P Engine Type: HNP-E3PS Fuel: H-Fuel / Thorium MOX / MOX Component Updates: Hull and Armour integrity upgrade, Structure vitality and integrity overhaul It wouldn't be long before I've had to remodel the entire ships hull for a suitable combat standard. The problem is with the current rendition of the liner is that if we're looking at mounting heavier weapon systems on board that they can at least take the general launch shock of a "acht-acht" firing; the turret would rip off an entire hull segment from the ship along with itself if these modifications weren't in place. These hull panels will go on the underside of the stealth coating, hopefully this won't impact the ships performance too much, possibly looking at a greater mass density, and a possible extension of the ship for increased equipment. Again, we're stripping everything out of it, this isn't looking like a liner anymore. Its almost comparable to the size light battleship. Not only that, the structure is also being bolstered to handle similar impacts from that class. This ship is not supposed to be seen, but not being prepared for capital ship combat can mean a hellish outcome from an idiotic act of ignorance to the inevitable. This took quite some time since we had to meet the requirement that a shot from a high powered heavy canon commonly referred to as a "Heavy-Mortar" wouldn't cause a catastrophic decompression of the entire ship. Although its not as heavy as the Military's Bismark's battleship, the armour design has indeed one advantage. Shape diffraction Currently, the development of this liner is reaching a point to where the armour systems need to be applied first before we can finalize the installation of the Passive stealth applied technologies (PSAT). The armour has been specifically angled to counteract incoming long to medium range Radar and Lidar detection systems. This will hopefully reduce the radar cross section of the ship immeasurably with the addition of other technologies. A combination of deflection and absorption should be the key to help keeping this ship undetected. From a radar perspective, the spacecraft changes its shape from whatever angle its picked up from which can be confusing and most probably be seen as a forgettable anomaly We've also gained another advantage from this, the heavily angled surfaces has helped increase the protection from broadside, frontal and rear attacks. This is due to possible deflection of incoming projectiles and the increase in depth that projectiles just penetrate to damage internals of the ships armour and hull. Although since space combat environments can vary in attack vectors. Although the ship does have a generally flat design, it is certainly wider in size than most light battleships, although with its role being a undetectable command and operations centre, combat should be a last resort as usual. Things seem to be looking up, we've recently expanded our employment of engineers and specialists for our brand new facility expansion module. And we've opened up a manufacturing line on board the station. I've assigned it to start the intricate manufacturing of Hyperspace Survey equipment. We're out of the design and research phase and we're building our first prototype. Although the station isn't part of the Zealous program, I've requested most of the prototypes be mounted on the XU-001 test rig.

One of the first results we had was the finalised design of a Hyperspace Survey package, it mainly involves a large array of radars, scanners and if the vessel lacks a computer powerful enough for its use then the order for one of these things will need to involve a server unit capable of handling an application specific hardware for the Survey scanner. The basis of this prototype is being made aboard the automated construction facility on ASEIR, this will be the first prototype in the series of hyperspace scanners that we will be attempting to supplement to deep recon ships. These will hopefully be a large improvement to the current environmental and interstellar positioning system that is on board the XU-001. With our current plans, this might even be useful within the Jump-tech that we're developing to use on board other vessels once we've cleared both the research and prototype stage. Although, currently this is still being constructed. Its at its final stages, but it will take a few days to get this upgrade package installed and a few more days of testing at minimum. We've prepared the ship for its installation and hopefully we can start the testing stage very soon. I've prepared for more maintenance teams to be scheduled to board the XU-001 for this stage along with science teams to handle any test data we get in return. Quote:The station is operational within its construction stages. This is a great step, we might soon be able to start manufacturing this equipment for parties we trust.
