While on the subject. Why do you turn off background stars? It feels so empty and bland without them. I guess if your PC is really that bad, it might boost your performance. But even then it's not that much.

Make all ship textures bright yellow > turn off background stars/starspheres > see enemy ships better > kill them easier > new meta

Shh!
Next time you know it the admins will count that as cheating.

selling bright yellow textures btw

It kinda IS cheating. You do get an advantage over your opponents. For example, in WoT, mods like "white dead tanks" were banned. It's pretty much the same case.

Just kidding. I don't do such things.
Besides, even with the HD background stars and updated ship textures (not bright yellow), it's not even difficult to see and shoot a ship. The HUD marks the ship pretty well and the is a red cross.

I suppose the idea behind this is that when you have a ship that's say 12K away, it's rendered in the game but you cannot target it from the target list unless you find it in space and go towards it.

I modify my sounds personally and change up some textures n' stuff, and SWAG.
Protégé is just stubbon to change :]

For better visibility. Also my starspheres got bugged, now look ugly, and I cba to re-install, although from time to time I'll turn them on again.

I dislike the swagpack because it's too dark and none of the sound mods I've found to date are actually good. And I cbf to find anything else. With starspheres and full hd the game looks good enough anyway.

I agree. The swag pack is too dark for my taste. Even with the "dark bloom" thing off.
By the way, have you tried Hadamari Sound Mod? It's really good. But only adds sound effects. There is another sound mod, but for music. I have it, but I don't remember where I got i from.

Hidamari sound mod. Some addons like dark hud, mainly the ones from swag pack. HQ Freelancer music.
Oh, and Crossfire mod backgrounds/Jumpsequence effects(Because it doesn't seem to work >_<).

This and nothing more.
