RE: XA - Bowing out gracefully - nOmnomnOm - 11-18-2015 I think you guys are being a little too emo here While I partially agree that yeah people left ... I do think as well that its not the best move to dump off XA like this. It is a good faction, right? All it really needs is some advertising and 2 guys logging to get some attention! But then again ... Your call... Though yeah, pob when your faction is down isn't the best idea. RE: XA - Bowing out gracefully - Alley - 11-18-2015 The POB could hve been a good asset if it wasn't such a grind. A depot would have perfectly fit what you wanted out of it, unlike a fully fledged POB. RE: XA - Bowing out gracefully - sindroms - 11-18-2015 Remember when people traded rice instead of buffed commodities? And took Helium to Kusari? You could pester those. Man, those were the days. RE: XA - Bowing out gracefully - Oldum - 11-18-2015 Imo, a POB is way too much hustle for any faction, not only to the ones with little member count. It's sad to see factions falling so often lately. RE: XA - Bowing out gracefully - Curios - 11-18-2015 In current state of things here factions are generally a dead horse people keep beating and trying to life support, yet there is no reason for factions to exist in the first place. Like, at all - except for keeping buddy buddy with certain people, but Skype chat can do that well enough without a faction hussle. That's wrong and sad to see factions going but that's not like something completely unpredictable. Fair seas. RE: XA - Bowing out gracefully - Sciamach - 11-18-2015 The RP I've seen come out of XA these past months has actually had me really impressed to be honest. Can't say I've had a time where I ever had a bad encounter with XA (my own inclusion not withstanding). Sad to see you guys go, I always liked ya. Nor does it retain. That was always the case, just because of how it was us vs. the world whenever we logged. We used to have a steady activity wave. Every 3 or so months we would have an activity spike, after that it would drop for another 3. I noticed we stopped getting the upswing quite a while ago. It's not really a question of numbers, though they do definitely help, it's more that we lost the core thing our faction does. There aren't enough trade ships. The major draw of our faction and what we do to accomplish our goal simply isn't there. XA isn't really a pvpwhore faction and never was. Yet recently, disco is all pvp. Space doesn't feel big anymore. We tried branching out with smuggling to Corsair buddies, mining premium scrap and other stuff, yet nobody was really interested. RE: XA - Bowing out gracefully - jammi - 11-18-2015 Sad news whenever a faction goes under, even more so when it's a faction with the history and reputation of the XA. You guys did a fantastic job with the lot you were given, and the fact that the Xenos outlived every other niche unlawful group for so long speaks volumes about the quality of its players and leadership. Here's to hoping that we'll still see the odd Xeno bopping around regardless. (11-18-2015, 12:19 PM)Alley Wrote: The POB could hve been a good asset if it wasn't such a grind. I've seen you mention depots a few times around the forum now - are these some planned/unreleased feature, or just your term for a core 1/2 PoB? RE: XA - Bowing out gracefully - Lythrilux - 11-18-2015 Yeah, how will depots work exactly? As the leader of a faction with a POB, I'm greatly interested in how much a depot could work in comparison.
