@Parvizal: of course, the intention it to build something that fits with the zoner lore
@Hannibal: the idea is to achieve projects that have some impacts in game. Activity will be necessary to achieve the projects but it won't be a goal by itself.
@Alvin: I guess you are right, creating a new group instead of joining existing ones might not be very productive for the community. However, so far I didn't see any faction that I would like to join, so I am taking the opportunity to create a new one since it seems to be a right moment. For the poll, you are also right, but it is intentionally biased since I don't mind about people not willing to participate, I am just checking if we have 3 or 10 people interested.

I did came up with a draft. On the former Disco PTC server I was a member of the ZEN faction-ZEN meaning Zoner Edgeworld Network (was in 4.87 dudes). I remember we had (much like all Zoners) access to all Zoner caps (corvo was included) and I was one of them members.
I don't know if it is viable again but this might be a choice.
All I remember is them based off O-74, and all FP of course.

Enforcing the NFZ when in the ID you can only engage in self defense...as one of the few people who knows the current CoF administrator of Freeport 11, you'd be wise to understand that the exist of the NFZ in Delta is null DUE to Core and Order fighting and usually only enforced when either side tries to make their own laws over the area, at which time, Zoner's would react. Unlike what I've seen, I'd hope you'd notice the ID states you can only engage in self defense, trust me, my Zoner group defended a freeport, we got sanctioned because we fired first.

Or in defense of Zoner Bases and ships as far as i recall.. if you RP it out well enough then i assume it should be good to do it.

@"SirDoge": it's good you have already a draft. It would be great if you could identify the best idea/concept in this draft. Then, during the creation process, each contributor will chose one idea/concept that he would like to implement in the new zoner group.
NFZ is indeed a tricky issue since zoners can hardly enforce it. Unless they (or their bases) are directly attacked they can only make diplomatic threats such as being banned from zoner bases (and anyway, it does not prevent banned people to break NFZ in the future). Maybe it's time to make a proposal to modify the Zoner ID. A change that would allow zoners to open fire within Freeports on ships that have broken the NFZ.
Regarding the creation process, I'll try to prepare and upload a template (with instructions) on google-doc this week so we can start the work. I have not a lot of time so it might be postponed to the next weekend. Anyway, you can still prepare an idea/concept that you would like to be integrated in this new zoner group.
