The idea of hosting an .iso for Freelancer has been thrown around here and there, though da' law is scary and we'd rather not make the risk just in case some people come after us for it.

One of the members here mentioned he knew a place where it was being hosted already, and has offered to ask if we can use his website as a download location. I'm hoping that we get somewhere with that.

Being able to provide people with the normal Freelancer game along with the mod would be an excellent way to boost up numbers.
i can handle the host of the game and i have iso.

Goddangit Tunicle, why didn't you bring this up sooner! (Though I guess you were never asked)

I'm just gonna.. make a link of that in the 'Download Mod' thread..

RE: We want a big community - Ramke - 07-04-2016

I think mentioning it on various RP communities (non-maliciously, ofcourse!) would certainly help find people interested by quite a bit. Naturally, it's an old game - but with fleshed out, RP-oriented modding and a not-so-dead playerbase, people wouldn't dismiss it completely.

I'd do it, but I'm not aware of any other RP communities. Confused

Another good option is having a team which would be willing to work with our ModDB page. The more active we look on there, the more attention we may get.

I have some ideas to boost up the moddb page

i wouldn t make at a link in the download section, imagine if some busy body found out that this forum was advertising illegal downloads....it would only take a few seconds of the idiots DDosing us that they will try to cause more hassles and then possiblly...goodbye forum

RE: We want a big community - Remnant - 07-05-2016

I uhh.. Don't really think that's why people do things like that.

RE: We want a big community - evanz - 07-05-2016

not worth the risk tho surely

someone once said "to win a war, dont give the enemy ammo"

He's right. It was actually against the forum rules to link to illegal content (downloads etc)

Not worth the risk.
