Traficking slaves or human organs is Ok, but that thread wasn't? I mean... in the game there are a lot of things that would not be OK if it was real life. But it's K in the game. And suddenly this short RP thread is not K, Huh... Quote:Drug addictions, the trade of slaves, the merciless killings and blatant racism are all kosher but describing how one does these things is not ok? Talking about it and describing it is a completely different matter. Although, I really don't agree with the whole censorship most of the time, it can dull down an impact of a story. RE: My thread has been deleted? - Altejago - 08-23-2016 I shall endeavor to refrain from explaining how I take my cardimine then. Or what my slaves look like. Or how someone died. Or discussing the idealogy of the Xeno's. God Streuth, this RP thing got boring. RE: My thread has been deleted? - Kauket - 08-23-2016 Going in to detail about HOW you massacre or slice people generally isn't considered nice, esp' if you go in to detail enough that it could be considered gore. If I'm going to talk about how a character got raped, I'm not going to go down to the nanogram of detail as to how it happened, because that'll be pornography. Subtly is key. RE: My thread has been deleted? - Altejago - 08-23-2016 Right... so by that notion I can say inrp; "I bought this slave who had such a body on her that I got aroused, I think I might sell her into my pal's group that uses sex slaves who will likely hang her from her neck naked when they are done with her.. I mean I am coming down off a bad ass Cardi binge session that has me throwing up blood and defecating my pants at every retch. Selling her will fund my crack habit. But that's nothing compared to this morning, I am a Kusarian who was called an 'alien' because this Xeno took exception in the shape of my eyes.." And not get reprimanded for it? If I do, then where is the line? RE: My thread has been deleted? - Divine - 08-23-2016 Quote:1. Not allowed on Discovery forums or server:As an arch-catholic person the vague description of any anatomy in relation of or to a womans body is highly pornographic to me and insulting my religious beliefs with its obscenity. RE: My thread has been deleted? - kenshin156 - 08-23-2016 Now, I get that there is the Rule. I get the reason behind it, but also I kind of feel bad for redfire. I mean sure, his thread probably was too descriptive. I haven't read it, but I assume, that can happen. However, it really is a question when you cross the line. Maybe someone really wants to RP a character with such a gigantic lust for revenge, that you need to describe these things a bit more. Don't get me wrong, I get grossed out, too. But I'm not forced to read such threads. IMO maybe an option to mark a post as "gore-y" or "descriptive" via Forum could warn people who are weak to these things. And this way, when it comes to these written scenes, you only need to watch for the reeeally screwed up parts. Actual pornographic descriptions, law-violating stuff I won't name, but I'm sure people get what I mean. Really, if it's not *too* brutal, I think it should just be marked as "very descriptive" and left at that. Many RPers just enjoy describing situations, and torture on someone you want to get revenge on is one of the scenarios where you can just go nuts on describing. |
