RE: To: Ingenuus Research Group | From: Ezrael Vertiga - Sombs - 09-24-2016 ![]() ![]() :::[INCOMING TRANSMISSION]::: :::[ESTABLISHING SECURED AUDIO FEED]::: :::[AUDIO FEED: LIVE]::: ID: Ezrael Vertiga Location: Omega-49 Subject: That Granma ENCRYPTION: ![]() God damnit. That old lady is getting on my nerves, McCool. The story behind that is really simple, to be honest. I stumbled across Miss Lyells cruiser in Omicron Minor and made the crucial mistake to decloak and talk to her. Should have known better. However, you don't see Core patrols in Minor that often, as they focus fully on patroling Rho and Delta and only send snubcraft to the more distant systems. So, yeah, we talked. Found out she is the current owner of the Core and a Guildkeeper. Not the Guildmaster, though. Looks like she likes to play chess, preferring to be then Queen instead of being the vulnerable King. So, I took the opportunity. The Core does everything for profit, so I offered her a deal. She would get some money and in return she would make sure I wouldn't get hunted by the Core, now that they know of the Apahanta still being out there - to be honest, I thought they knew that already, but I guess the younger pilots didn't think a foreign Mako was a suspicious thing and whatever. She declined. Then I offered her my database about the nomads, as I think my research on them is a bit... different from what APM knows about them. You know, there aren't many people that actually try to talk to the nomads. Call me a weirdo, but when those things talk to me using their mindpowers - since they can't communicate in any other way - then I try not to punch my own face to get them out of there. After all, some of them really just want to learn, like most Zoners do. So we talked about how could I have been able to get information about the nomads that possibly could be more accurate than the ones of the Core. Bla bla bla, she accused me to be infected and so on. Sent her my blood, boom, not infected. Sorry for this tone, but I'm really tired of this now. Looks like people are actually trying to corner me, sending rumors about me being infected or a nomad supporter out there. You know, that's how they want to destroy my reputation. How could I defend myself from someone who says I'm in touch with them? I don't know, and that's a big problem to me. Battlegroup Auxesia spreads those rumors, and now even the Core One more reason to upgrade the cloak, McCool. I prefer to be unseen a thousand times more than having our weapon system ready once we uncloak. But I guess it's now more problematic, isn't it? As long as I am not able to to furnish proof about me not being under nomad control, you could possibly work with the wrong person. I'd fully understand if that would prevent you from helping us. There is no way I can defend myself from those allegations. Everything I can give you is my word as the Captain of a stolen battleship that never harmed any Zoner. However. If you are still willing to help me, I'll send you the 500.000.000 Credits. The Apahanta is still moored at Livadia, with your people having unlimited access to it. Safe skies. Ezrael Vertiga

I do not intend t' leave you stranded and your vessel left t' it's own devices. Nor do I intend for this conversation t' be spread amongst others and rumors spread. I merely wanted t' know and hear in your own words what the reason was for her "warning" me as it were. Now that I've heard from you, my mind is at ease. Especially given that I share the same thoughts as you in regards the Nomads - I would rather not blast them out of the sky nor view them in black as white, kill or be killed. There is much we can learn regarding their civilization and technology, and not all research is done on an operating table with a corpse. Now, if you do have any information regarding the nomads that you would be prepared t' share with us, we would greatly appreciate such. We'll cross reference your database on the Noamds with our own, and of course, should we find anything missing form your databanks, we'll be happy t' share such. For now though, don't worry, enjoy the company of your Fiance, and we'll be in touch soon. Safe Skies t' you both. Finn McCool Ingenuus Research Group RE: To: Ingenuus Research Group | From: Ezrael Vertiga - Sombs - 09-27-2016 ![]() ![]() :::[INCOMING TRANSMISSION]::: :::[ESTABLISHING SECURED AUDIO FEED]::: :::[AUDIO FEED: LIVE]::: ID: Ezrael Vertiga Location: Cayman Subject: Exchange ENCRYPTION: ![]() That's at least some good news. So here you are. 500.000.000 Credits. About the information exchange. I am willing to share my collected data with you, however, I ask you to keep those data, if you don't know already what I know, as secret as possible. I trust the you and the IRG. In the wrong hands, those files could cause much trouble, both for humans and nomads. So, here, have a copy of the Apahanta's nomad database. Aside from all this, there is something I need to inform you about, I guess. Maren and I just came back from a meeting with Battlegroup Auxesia in Inverness. We were on the Eidolon Wraith to confront Sapphire Raven and Joshua Hunt about them spreading rumors about me being potentially infected. So we were on their ship, they made some medical checks on us and again, boom, not infected. Surprise. However, those guys refused to fix my reputation with the entities they told about me. Instead, they are demanding to search the Apahanta. Now, there isn't really a problem with that alone, yet I believe Battlegroup Auxesia is interested in getting their hands on my ship. There was this weird situation when I offered them, as a joke, to buy my ship for all the money I invested into it and Hunt said he would consider it, in a serious manner. Knowing that the Auxesian Liberty Dreadnought Arktos got severely damaged only one day before our meeting - I saw that happen, close to the shady side of Manhattan, where Auxesia and Hellfire fought Liberty - it makes me believe they are trying to get their hands on more warships. I don't trust them, just like they don't trust 'outsiders', as Hunt called us. His attempt on forcing me to pick a side failed. I can tell you, that was one hell of a meeting. I really didn't think they would let us leave, especially not unharmed. So, I will let them search the Apahanta. Simply because if not, it will be only a matter of time for them to do it behind my back. I would like to ask you to have someone to witness this. First of all, your teams have access to everything on the Apahanta anyway. Second of all, I doubt Auxesia will try something funny with Zoners onboard. They can't risk being at a bad reputation with the CoF. It would really help me. Ezrael Vertiga

As far as your report, we thank you for the information. I'll have my team leads and colleagues review the information soon. Now, regarding the Auxesia. That is very surprising t' hear, especially considering that you provided them with the ability t' perform their own checks. Yet despite that, they still demand t' search your vessel? That's... bold. If that is of course your wish, for them t' conduct the search while the Apahanta is moored at Livadia, I will ensure that one of our more senior staff is present, as well as all precautions taken t' ensure nothing out of the ordinary happens while they conduct this search. Let us know when such a search will take place, and i'll dedicate a team and a staff member t' be there. Safe skies... I don't blame you for being careful, though. Even after getting access to my database... The Auxesians will send four people to search the ship. They will carry weapons. Therefor, my crew will also be armed and the Kishiro Service Units will be alarmed once one of my crew sends them a signal, with order to defend themselves should Auxesia do something stupid. I count on your guys to make sure the Auxesians don't do anything funny. Just in case they really are trying something, I made sure to set up some countermeasures to prevent them from stealing the ship. I really hope I'm just paranoid about them, but there is actual reason to believe they are after the Apahanta. Let's hope they are not. Ezrael Vertiga

Two reports, of equal content, from two different sources? Surely you would inquire were you in my shoes. Luckily for you, their report included no tangible evidence, and if anything, backs up your claims. While direct contact with Nomads can worrisome, t' approach them without guns blazing is admirable. Regardless, we are expecting their arrival, and will not leave their side as they conduct their search. Nothing will happen under our watch, and should they try anything, their access and relationship with both the IRG and the CoF as a whole will be revoked. I will inform you when they arrive Mr. Vertiga, and will keep you updated. Safe skies. The Livadian IRG teams are now working on the upgrade of the cloaking device for three months, and I would like to inquire if and how much progress has been made. I guess I don't need to remind you of the 500.000.000 Credits the Captain has invested in your work, as well as the copy of the Captain's database. Thus I think it's time for an update on the current project, with wanting to sound respectless. Also, just in case the Livadians who have overseen the Auxesians' search on the Apahanta didn't report about it, let me sum up what happened:
I hope I can expect an answer soon. While we appreciate the hospitality of the Livadians, I'm sure you understand we never planned to stay here for another three months. The Captain needs this ship operable, which requires it to be able to leave Omicron Kappa for longer trips. Sherry Aguilar
