While this is no official statement or anything, I'd stray away from any ini files if I were you. You'll most likely get flagged otherwise and have a bad time because of it.
Last time I heard, none of them are safe to edit other than one which was meant for graphic mods. Not sounds and/or music.

And with that, I'm off to bed.

There's a thread about making a custom music pack for Freelancer in the Media subforum. As for editing the tracks in systems, you can't, as you'd have to edit .ini files in order to make that happen (if you're trying to edit Disco music anyway). However, if you're modding the vanilla game or making your own mod, you can edit the system .ini files or something like that.

There is a way to change the music, without getting yourself kicked. The music is in DATA>AUDIO>MUSIC. It's all in .wav format. All you have to do is convert your music to .wav and replace the original files.

No ini editing required.

when I first saw this thread I thought it was to expand the verbals, not the music. I always have the music off. In real life the space craft didn't have an orchestra following them Angel
