Wow, this may just become possibly the best game ever imo. Always wanted to be able to fly through the planets atmosphere. Imagine a group of people all taking off together and flying up to space to engage a target.... *dreams*

and Simsonator, imagine a hostile fleet coming into orbit and every fighter has to launch AKA The Freelancer intro (when the sleeper ships break through) :D:cool:

The best aspect of this game might also be it's downfall. Due the huge size, it's possible that the game gets boring if they'll do it wrong.
I used to follow every progress of this game, but now i only check the site every now and then. It takes too long, but i'm sure i'll play it once it's released.

It looks really good and I love all the ideas going into it but it seems very ambitious, perhaps too ambitious. I'm more worried about whether the game will be released at all then if it will be released too late, or if they will take shortcuts to get it released soon enough and so the dame ends up being bad and not enough people subscribe so they can fix it (look at what happened to Hellgate: London).

Been trying out the Combat prototype...
It's a lot rougher around the edges and much more fickle than FL, but it seems solid enough. Mouse directs the ship = awesome.
It runs even smoother than FL if you turn the graphics down a bit.
