RE: Help us choose an ID! - Mephistoles - 02-20-2018 Good luck and all, but be careful not to want too much. Factions and IDs have to be balanced and if you're going to hope for a faction that can dock on every base in the game with 5k cargo transports, you'll end up disappointed. I don't really see any ID that does exactly what you're asking. What about Republican Shipping? RE: Help us choose an ID! - The Hansa - 02-20-2018 Republican shipping works well, the only issue with it, is it would force us to re-asses our current attitude with the Unioner official group (which is that we pay them money not to blow us sky-high). Might create a conflict of interest. Maybe Kruger? We wouldn't be mining, so we wouldn't be in contest with the current official group. RE: Help us choose an ID! - JorgeRyan - 02-20-2018 I guess you could always just... lose the 5k'ers and go with Freelancer/Zoner. Or, if you know you'll always be flying together, zoner whales + serenity's/borderworld transports to unload when in house space RE: Help us choose an ID! - The Hansa - 02-20-2018 (02-20-2018, 09:59 AM)JorgeRyan Wrote: I guess you could always just... lose the 5k'ers and go with Freelancer/Zoner. Could that be considered game mechanic abuse? Using an unloader? Our ideal ID (if ever official) would be somewhere between the OSI ID and the Republican shipping ID. RE: Help us choose an ID! - JorgeRyan - 02-20-2018 I'll be honest, I'm not entirely sure, but, I think since it promotes activity and cooperation between players, it should be okay? I am probably wrong in this one. RE: Help us choose an ID! - Durandal - 02-20-2018 Ultimately you're going to need to be more specific as to who you are and what you do to get a straightforward answer. RE: Help us choose an ID! - SnakThree - 02-20-2018 It's really hard to balance "Freedom" and "Biggest transports". You have to pick which one is more important and sacrifice the other a bit. If you go corporate route, working with more than few select unlawfuls should not be common place. If you go freedom route, you can work with them as much as you like but sticking to smaller transports. Precise summary: Collective of small shipping guilds using the general Rheinland economic downturn to avoid the dichotomy of shipping to other large corporates in other houses. They're acting mostly on frustration. Instead, they're largely self-controlled and ship mostly to small markets in the border and edge worlds. Highly protectionist. Relies more on confederations between other merchants than government protection. Sees themselves as retailers for Rheinland's vast number of manufactured goods to the borderworld graymarket. Are somewhere between a Rheinland corp and an inter-house organisation. Small, not particularly influential. Lawful, but generally amoral about where the products they're retailing end up. Do not produce anything. They're effectively a confederation of small shipping guilds banding together to stake out markets that aren't profitable for the mega-monopolies to exploit. The obvious choice would be Republican shipping, but they don't exactly speak small or free of governmental interference. |
