I already tried to reason why this is a joke of a change, but to no avail. SNACs on shieldless snubs making a mistake are a problem, but instakilling 5 people through the shield in a 1v9 is okay. None of them even got hit, they just happened to be close to an asteroid.

It's not like the SNAC was as effortless as cruiser razors where you zoom all the way out and spam them for 10 minutes before your core runs out. Fluke kills happened, but fluke kills happen on all instakill guns. A fluke battleship cerberus or cruiser missile on a snub, etc.. SNAC actually required some skill and first of all it required the enemy to allow you to SNAC him in the first place - by simply running away the snub eliminated 99.999999% of chance of getting hit.

Also, the fact that no stat was changed showed how little thought was given to it. There's 0 reasons to use the SNAC against caps as well because other bomber weapons, most notably Corona, outshine it in everything. If it's really going to be useless against snubs at least give it proper anti-cap stats.

Oh and to anticipate a question that's surely gonna be brought up - I don't care as much as it may seem about the change, I just think it's bad. I fly all classes and will adapt, for instance by using Coronas because they're just flat out a better SNAC. I'm speaking from both the fighter and the bomber PoV and have been SNACed outside of Connecticut once in 5 years while flying snubs often and I never found SNACs an issue to deal with when fighting against them. People complaining about them are almost exclusively on the receiving end of them, constantly repeating the same mistakes over and over again and wondering how they died.

If there's anything positive from this it's that SHFs and heavy bombers got a considerable buff now, they might be worthwhile in more than just very specific scenarios.

Antonio said pretty much all I had in mind. The only fact is that, for example he flies all classes, I know how to fly bombers only. Since day one on the server, almost 8 years ago, I am using bombers and SNAC was the only reason that kept me playing hundreds and hundreds of hours on the server. Now seeing what devs did to the gun leaves me no choice but to leave the server for good this time. It's a pitty that I have to leave this way

Im guessing is the only change on this patch that i can praise.
As someone pointed out, it mostly affected noobs, all instakill are detrimental to activity, so ye, in this case, good work.
Bombers are supposed to die to fighters.
Same way a BS or a transport need snub cover bombers need too.

Honestly i want see, how will work bombers, completely separated from fighters. But ye, give to snac some advantages against cap instead. If that forced separating will not work i guess devs always could revert it.

Instakills would be fine if not for the death timer. That's the key factor here. It's already frustrating in comp games when you get cheesed, especially as a newbie. Imagine if that was the case and you can't take part in the fun for two hours.

They just make it so that bombers have no chance against fighters.

Could have been implemented better. I expected more QQ, this way of implementation causes too little of it to amuse me. Not a single curse or caps lock line in the whole thread yet.

*IT SEEMS GOOD TO ME AS NOW BOMBERS PROPERLY REQUIRE ESCORTS*

Good enough for you Thundy? (sun)

I have voiced my opinion many times to a certain Dev and I am completely against this change, and while I started branching out to snubs recently I still mostly fly caps. This change was literally the result of all the people whining when they get rekt. those same people fly in straight lines and don't know what strafing means. I have charged many snac bombers while my shields are down and was fine because I knew how to change my ships direction easily. This change should be reverted because this shows that if your bad at something and you complain about it you can get it changed.
