Profiling indicates he has a close relationship with his guns, namely a Ageira Technologies Mark 15 Mod. 2 'XV-15' and Detroit Munitions FWG-5 'Featherweight'. The Cold Harbor SPG files indicate a high skillset record on the ranged department, while the remaining are lackluster at best. Hale's career and significant achievements have earnt him the respect of his fellow officers. Many however have called him reckless and leveled accusations of favoritism with regards to his choice of high command officers. The tabloid papers have repeatedly implied the possibility of relationships between him and the female members of his high command, although no conclusive evidence has been provided for this. Hale always has allowed a slightly less formal and more personal method of command to prevail within the Liberty Navy, and some have called this unprofessional. Hale himself however countered this with the claim that "A happy force is an effective force".
In 821 A.S., David Franklin Hale delivered his resignation and retirement forms to the Secretary of State for Defence of the Liberty Government. A quiet retirement, without a public reason or cause, that took many by surprise. Stated living location in public files is still the same for the past nine years, San Mateo, Planet Los Angeles. However, asset investigation indicates said address appears to be uninhabited. Since retirement, there are very few public appearances but one source ( unverified ) points to his participation in reactivating the fabled Liberty Navy Gold Wing in their latest operational theater in the New London system.

Caught in a hushed up embezzling case in Planet Cambridge, he was shipped to Planet Leeds by his father, months prior to the invasion of Kusari. Introduced to the world of politics, he rose through the ranks of the local Government over the course of many years, and managed to rise to the position of Chief Adviser to the Governor, Lord Bingham Alridge. In the advent of the Gallic War, as most of upper echelons fled from Planet Leeds, he drew the short straw in the cabinet and was nominated to stay behind and coordinate resistance efforts with the Government back in New London. He issued the formal surrender in the very first hour and welcomed his new overlords with the flair that is his trademark.
Over the course of the years, he collaborated with Gallia into capturing several resistance cells as well breaking the spirits of the population. Over 1500 deaths can be linked to his actions in last three years alone, yet our analysts indicate the number can be four times bigger since record keeping and witnesses are scarce. In the last hours of the Glassing of Leeds, he disappeared alongside Gallic key personnel that left towards Gallia proper, alive and well.
