Make them grey. And regular users green.

RE: New Game Masters - St.Denis - 02-08-2019

Green is a bad colour, it is associated with the Spawn of the Devil.

I think it best at this point for it to be considered a new thing without previous baggage and expectations attached. I don't see why their group display colour is important.

Because in every other gaming community, they're called admins and you're probably going to confuse newer players. This is still a game, it isn't dnd. Colours should indicate role. They're not devs.

It's not like they don't do any dev-like work. They have the ability to mess with server operations (okay only inside their Windows VM, but still that can affect the whole Freelancer server), they sometimes perform technical tasks (beyond what one might expect of an ordinary player) involving various server files, they directly configure FLHook and co.. And ultimately their decisions may impact on traditional areas of development.

They have the ability to mess with server operations because they are doing administrative tasks, that are necessary to keep the server running and the community happy. I dont think they are actually mastering a game (sun)
Giving them a color that would indicate that they belong to a specific group that can actually help people in certain situations might be very helpful in the long run.

I guess that's what we should have done. Switch the colors every few months for a fresh start. Tongue
Seriously, I hope you guys do well. No former Admin wants to see Disco burn. I wish you both success.

RE: New Game Masters - Sombs - 02-08-2019

What exactly will Game Masters do now?

RE: New Game Masters - Swifty - 02-08-2019

Make it purple with fancy fluorescent.

Hello Snak3. Smile
Edit:Congrats on the new titles guys!!

RE: New Game Masters - Burning - 02-08-2019

I might be biased due to participation in different gaming communities in the past, but I appreciate Game Masters and developers sharing the same color. It gives the idea of a single big team leading the community, rather than two small camps like it was before. Given player to GM/dev communication happens mostly via forum requests, there's no need for a regular player to know each team members' unique tasks.
