"You make a good point," Doc replied. "Pygar is very new and those there are fearful in a good way, fearful in that someone else will come calling and want what they have built. It happened first with Erie and then Gran Canaria. Trust will need to be earned."
He managed a soft smile. "The TAZ. Yes, they are still around although not quite as active as they once were. I did my best to keep it going for a time after Malaclypse died but I eventually turned the reigns over to a new generation. I have a small hospital in Baffin." He gave a chuckle. "A friend of mine found an old base and together we fixed it up. It is not much but it is something.....something I can build on. I have a storage unit planned for it next."
"The Zoners as a whole are re-grouping after the loss of Canaria," he continued, "Freeport 2 in Bering was overtaken, as was the system itself, by what the houses would call criminals."
Doc then paused a moment in thought. "Freeport 10......." he thought in a soft voice to himself, "I do not know who is running that base."

Zhane nods a little and leaves the glass on the table and walks to the window and looks out
"I hope we can gain their trust, all Zoners, we once belonged to that family, we feel obligated to help them, in hopes that we get help as well. Any idea where to begin?" Zhane scratches at the edge of the metal that covers his head.
"I am sorry to hear about Malaclypse, although, you where the one I had first contact with. And my people don't forget you either, not any of the TAZ that we became allies with."
"What do you mean overtaken? Who took over in Bering? So, the station isn't in Zoner control? I am sorry to hear that, how come you haven't taken it back?" he tilts his head, but turns back to the glass for a long time before speaking
"Do you think that my people will be able to resettle? Do you think the other Zoners will hear us out? Or, what do you think we should do Doc?" he doesn't face Doc, instead he just looks outside

"I am not sure how to explain the Bering situation," he replied. "Some time ago, a group referring to themselves as the Rat Pack took over the Freeport. Since then, that whole system has a lot of who knows who in it. It suffered greatly after the Rheinland/Liberty war and never recovered. When I had to pull my medical staff out of there, well, that will give some idea."
He looked at Zhane for a moment. "Do not push too hard. That is, do not pressure Zoner groups too much. TAZ is still there as is OSI, the latter of which is more of a trading conglomerate. Velvet is still fairly new and going through a leadership change. For the time, you and I share something in common and that is that we are both somewhat like refugees. We make our homes on our ships. Sure, I have quarters on Med Force One and my hospital but I do not have a planet to call home. For now, we have to make the best of what we have. Med Force One is an example of just how special a Nephilim can become and how my engineering teams have both built it up and kept it. That said, if you need help getting it up to par, I can have my team help you out."
"Patience, old friend," he said to him with a smile, "you are just coming back after a long sleep. You will need some time."

Zhane turns to Doc as he listens to his old friend.
"It seems Sirius has become even more.. Complicated then before we left, well.. At least the Gallic invasion has ended."
He nods at him and says low "Perhaps, living on ships is how we will live for now, it sounds as if that is the best choice for now. We have already the number of ships needed for such a life. Just need them to be repaired. I'd of course would welcome any help getting them repaired." Zhane smiles at Doc

"Tell me about you then, how have things been for you? How many ships are being used for your Medical service?"

He took a deep breath. "Considering recent events, I am doing OK. I have a young lady who has taken an interest in me and I in her, I have my work and I am finding time and room to expand. Wealthy I am not as I choose to expand my services rather than have a lavish home. "
He sipped his Scotch. "As to my ships, I have Med Force One, a Nephilim and two Corvo cruisers modified as hospitals. They are so much easier to travel in these systems full of rocks. Med Force Two is in the Omicrons/Omegas while Med Force Three is in the Taus. I have a Democritus Yacht for diplomatic events and my transport to make credits with."
He looked at him. "Tell me something, I intend to make a transmission to Velvet and OSI and they will want to know about you. You know, where you come from, your leanings and such. What should I include?"

Zhane smiles at John "I am glad to hear it's going well for you. And I happy to hear that you have found someone as well, companionship is important."
He turns and takes up the glass he placed on the table and takes another sip
"It does sound like you keep yourself busy, with all those ships I mean. It's good to hear that you are doing some good out there, Creator knows Sirius needs good men"
He looks back as he asks and says after a few moments "You can inform them that we came from Outcast space, was hunted by the Phantoms and chased out, that the Zoner community took us in. We are a spiritual people, and our practices are somewhat.. Complicated and a bit odd to outsiders. We praise and believe in a Creator. A living machine that we had made contact with through a number of probes found in Sirius. We believe in technology and to advance ourselves and our ships. We have AI among us, living like any other citizen of our kind. We aren't warlike, we just defend ourselves and our allies. That we once helped with the construction of Gran Canaria, helped refugees there and also assisted the Zoner Alliance during some skirmishes. And that we aim to rebuild what we had, but as you said. We can always remain on our colony ships if no planet can be settled on. Just.. Need some time" he sighs and then shrugs
"You can tell them the truth, from what you remember of us. I trust you John, as did Jechaim" and draws a circle over his chest

"I know you trust me," Doc replied. "If you did not, you would not have sought me out. There is mutual trust between us which is why I wish to be careful in how I guide you through this awakening."
"I have to ask, what is your current status with the Corsairs? I ask this because I am thinking that Freeport 9 in Omicron Theta may need someone to look after it. Now, it does not solve the problem as to relocating all of your people but Pygar is being settled to and I have a hospital under construction. I predict good things for out there."
He sat in front of him, "So what do you think on that note?"

Zhane smiles at John as he nods his head a little
"Well, we never had any issues when we where protecting Gran Canaria, we even supplied food to Crete at times. We see them as neutrals, despite our heritage. Are you saying there is a possibility of something of a home, we'd gladly take it. Even if the station can't hold us all, our colony ships can, and with some kind of main base we'd be able to both defend that and make a home at the same time."
He tilts his head a little and glances at the Doctor "You trust us to do this John? What would the other groups say do you think?"

Doc stood up and stood still for a moment as he just gave Zhane a stare. Not an evil one but one of thought. He then scratched his chin with his right hand. Ideas were flowing through his head. He walked over towards a window and looked out for a moment before turning back to him, opening his mouth to say something but for a few seconds, nothing came out.
Finally, he pointed towards him. "You helped me once," he stated, "or at least helped me get something started. Truth be known, Zhane, I have little to offer you with Canaria in Bretonian hands. All I can offer you is purpose."
He gave a light smirk, "Work with me. Become a member of Med Force Enterprises. I can use a man like you, someone who knows research. Some of my most secret projects are performed at my hospital in Baffin and I can give you an office and quarter for a few of your people. It is quite small so it is all I can do for now but then, large ships are home if you keep them close by. Still, others can head out to Omicron Theta and assist with living on Pygar. If you are a part of Med Force, you will have trust."
He sipped his Scotch, "So, old friend, what do you say?"
