RE: Capital Sci data code guns change discussion - Saronsen - 07-27-2020 just turn all sci-data into IOU's that lets people put up a thread to have them traded in for the market value of 3mil, and just add cap scidata guns as normal guns why gun variety is being sold as 'money sinks' is beyond me. unless we're admitting scidata guns are actually superior and the endgame/pay to win if you find a credit seller RE: Capital Sci data code guns change discussion - Ice Princess - 07-27-2020 (07-27-2020, 04:29 AM)Markam Wrote: This is an economics discussion and im not best qualified for it, but if players can skip Sci data altogether and buy the guns from NPCs for what is equivalent to 5 mil per sci data, why on earth would they bother buying sci data for 5mil a unit when it gives them no advantage to just buying from the NPC? Counter-question. Why do you want to break the market even more by overpricing guns that are gamebreaking? EDIT: And you are ignoring the fact that you unwillingly increase the prices of cultist engines too. Just saying. RE: Capital Sci data code guns change discussion - DarkTails - 07-27-2020 Counter Question: Why would I sell scidata for less than the proposed set market value when I'll incur a net loss? If a firm line is placed on the value of scidata, why would I cheat myself and sell below value, a firm line is established beyond the artificial market that exists now, who would sell below that unless it's an obscenely little amount that isn't worth anything on it's own? That's just cutting myself out of the equal market value. RE: Capital Sci data code guns change discussion - Jayce - 07-27-2020 Quote:Admin notice: This is an experiment. If people are really going to kick up a fuss because their exclusive toys™ are now available to other players (shock horror!), good. It only helps highlight them as whiny children. Scidata should have stayed as a cosmetics only thing. RE: Capital Sci data code guns change discussion - Wildkins - 07-27-2020 honestly i wish justin would've had the guts to go through with it and just delete all sci data guns from the game one day without telling anyone it is honestly really telling that the only meaningful changes and additions to capital combat in the last five years have been locked behind monetary walls in a game where all the bittervets who could be bothered to bump their ships have national treasuries rivaling switzerland but everyone else can barely be bothered making anything more expensive than a snub since money making in this game is horrifically boring if you aren't the kind of person that can play elite dangerous seriously without slipping into a vegetative state if they're super expensive they need to be better than what you can get normally or else nobody will buy them except in niche cases; if they are better than what you can get, you're basically moving the bar for flying caps up a few billion credits in a game where, again, making money blows tl;dr just nerf them where needed and sell them on conn for normal prices; the vast majority of sci data guns were bought using sci data farming exploits anyway, and it's not like anyone realistically enjoys farming sci data RE: Capital Sci data code guns change discussion - t0l - 07-27-2020 RE: Capital Sci data code guns change discussion - Wildkins - 07-27-2020 sorry, for everyone with a room temperature IQ like @t0l: why only good cap gun cost so much money? RE: Capital Sci data code guns change discussion - Typrop - 07-27-2020 i farm scidata not to get scidata guns to sell to people who want to get scidata guns because i don't want to trade commodities for 63 years of my life when i can spend 69 mining scidata and get a bigger overall payout with less thought put into it yes just put them in conn already damn it, the system is stupid and nobody likes it, there's going to be some backlash about it in the first place so nut up and do it, face the music and make things better in general RE: Capital Sci data code guns change discussion - Markam - 07-27-2020 I wont comment on if the guns are better or even required to compete in the PvP environment, though I am told this is not the case. |
