Sir Henry Fairfax,

I will fully outline what The Core and APM intend to offer to obtain Aland Shipyard, as well as the benefits of conducting this exchange with us, and what the future would hold.

Quote:The Bretonian Government will:
  • Transfer Aland Shipyard to us, whereby it will switch to Core IFF protocols.
  • Maintain 10% ownership of Aland Shipyard. The Core will retain the other 90%. If the shipyard changes hands due to the 'Crisis Clause', these percentages will swap over.

In exchange, The Core will:
  • The Core will match the monetary value of any offer presented by other bidders. Money isn't an issue or a concern, so we will spare going into details on that.
  • Implement the 'Crisis Clause' - if similar events (such as inter-House war) that prompted Bretonia to request, and then seize, Aland Shipyard occur again, The Core will willingly transfer ownership of Aland Shipyard to the Bretonian Government / produce Bretonian Capital Ships for the Armed Forces within a week's notice.
  • Construct a cutting edge Iridium refinery on Aland, allowing us to produce and deliver the metal to Bretonia with increased efficiency.
  • Use Aland Shipyard to construct Threshers, Bullheads and Makos to help boost Core and Bretonian efforts in the local region.
  • Supply the Bretonian Armed Forces, and the Secret Intelligence Service, with 6 snubcraft each of their choice from the new Core/APM APX shipline.
  • Supply the Bretonian Armed Forces, and the Secret Intelligence Service, with 48 Adapted Nomad fighter guns of their choosing.
  • Ensure that the Bretonian Government has timed exclusive use of future Adapted Weaponry produced by APM, including but not limited to Capital Ship Turrets.
  • Transfer one of the Threshers outside of Aland Shipyard to Bretonian Armed Forces control.
  • Eventually use Aland Shipyard to construct a civilian line of ships, created by APM. Once again, Bretonia will get first access to these.

The main advantage of conducting this exchange with us, which absolutely cannot be reciprocated by the other bidders, is that Aland Shipyard being under Core control means we can assist Bretonia in fortifying Omega-3 into a lawful stronghold on the fringe of the Omega region. This means we can more adequately combat unlawful insurgents on the Bretonian border, such as Mollys, Hessians, Gaians and Coalition, through having this stronpoint created by the ability for APM to produce Capital Ships for The Core outside of the Omicrons. This also creates an opportunity for Core and Bretonia to jointly expand across the Omega region - neutralising criminal elements and securing regional resources. Consider how much different Omega-49 could have gone if The Core was able to produce capital ships closer to the conflict.

Secondly, selling the shipyard to House controlled or influenced corporations puts Bretonia at immediate risk if a conflict were to ever arise between them and you. The Core is an independent actor and does not get involved in inter-House conflicts. This does not mean we wouldn't transfer the shipyard to you if one were to arise, however.

But as I have stated previously, The Core not getting Aland Shipyard will affect our ability to export Iridium effectively to Bretonia. Given that we would have assisted you with Gran Canaria, and come out with little to show for it, we would not see why we would feel motivated to continue or increase our current rate of export. Our ability to adequately defend Bretonian or allied assets in the local area will also be affected, and likely we will need to recall our capital assets away from Omega-3 and away from Bretonian interests.

I hope our offer will be to your liking, and that you will make the right choice.

-N. Archos
Supreme Guildmaster, The Core

Hello again, mister Archos! I can't say I didn't enjoy speakin' with you and your bunch before, but such a demonstration of deep business wisdom can really return my faith into humanity's... Well, shrewdness.

I like your offer, sir, and I'm sure the Cabinet will agree, but I do have one remark.

Your prior intention to blast Aland to pieces if you don't get it, especially if serious, has raised some eyebrows. Aland can function as a military shipyard, but the minister of defence has told me we cannot allow significant foreign military presence in Onega-3. This means that your current garrison cannot increase in size. As soon as a warship is built, it must go it's way. I hope you understand this, sir, alright?

Sir Henry Fairfax,

Oh no Mr. Fairfax, they must have misunderstood me. What would we get from blasting Aland to pieces? We're not that savage.

Otherwise yes, our intention was to construct our capital ships and send them off into operations within the deeper Omega systems. If the current military garrison cannot increase in size, then we may have to rescind the offer of the Thresher so that we can ensure Aland is adequately defended at least for the short-term until the transition period has finished. Then later on we can look at distributing parts of the local battlegroup to the Armed Forces. I assume we would still have some protection by the Armed Forces as well?

Yes, BAF protection is implied. The area is on the path of standard patrols from the Norfolk. I'll go ask the minister of defence if the BAF need a Thresher and advise him to order an increased local BAF presence. Until later, sir!

Esteemed Guildmaster Nathan Archos,

The Kingdom of Bretonia has decided to sell Aland Shipyard to the Core or its sub-branch the APM, under the following conditions:

Quote:The Bretonian Government will:
  • Transfer Aland Shipyard to the Core, whereby it will switch to Core IFF protocols.
  • Maintain 10% ownership of Aland Shipyard. The Core will retain the other 90%. If the shipyard changes hands due to the 'Crisis Clause', these percentages will swap over.
    • The Kingdom of Bretonia will not hold any facilities on the shipyard, but will instead be paid 10% of its profit monthly. Should the shipyard create a deficit, the Kingdom of Bretonia has the right to impose profit-generating policies, or not take part in the division of the deficit.

In exchange, The Core will:
  • Pay 250,000,000,000 (two hundred and fifty billion) Sirius Credits to the Kingdom of Bretonia.
  • Supply the Bretonian Armed Forces, and the Secret Intelligence Service, with 48 Core/APM APC fighter guns of their choosing.
  • Ensure that the Bretonian Government has timed exclusive use of future weaponry produced by APM, including but not limited to Capital Ship Turrets.
    • This does not include Nomad weaponry.
  • Maintain its current garrison in the Nottingham/Omega-3 System.
    • As soon as a new Core capital ship is produced, it will not be added to the garrison, but it will be sent out of the borders of the Kingdom of Bretonia, unless granted a special permission.
    • The garrison may uphold the Bretonian Charter of Interstellar Law, but not the Omicronis Legal Codex, within the Nottingham/Omega-3 System.
    • The garrison is subjected to the Bretonian Charter of Interstellar Law, except as exempted by this agreement.
  • Eventually use Aland Shipyard to construct a civilian line of ships, created by APM. Once again, Bretonia will get first access to these.

Proof of the highest bidder, as required by the Clause 1, Section 2 of the agreement proposed by the Core.

Sir Henry Fairfax
Secretary of State for Trade and Industry
Kingdom of Bretonia

Sir Henry Fairfax,

Only 250,000,000,000? Hm, can't say I'm surprised, our competitors likely don't know what real money is. I'll get the boys and girls in finance to wire the cash across.

Otherwise, you've got yourselves a deal. Our security is already in place, so we can start beginning the process of personnel transfer onto the station soon. When we're done with it, Aland under Core colours will be a thing of beauty. I'm looking forward to future cooperation in Omega-3.
