RE: Matsuda's Legacy - Starfliers - 01-14-2022

"If what you say is true, with women being controlled in all areas of life, change would be difficult. Especially if people are being replaced every few years. Gives no time for ideas to form and an internal revolution to start. I think I'm beginning to understand what it is you're fighting against."

A couple beeps a heard from the door, and a crew member wearing attire seen in the cafeteria walks in. They silently drop off two bottles of sake and two big bowls of rice and then promptly leaves.

"I had a crew member go out and grab stuff from Kyushu. Hope it's enough."

As Halpert begins to start hastily eating the rice, he stops to say one more thing before waiting for Misaki's reply.

"History has told us change is never without any bloodshed. As much as I do respect and admire what you're trying to achieve, I don't support the means. What happens if everything you're fighting for won't happen? What happens if all of this is futile?"

"There is no incentive for any kind of alterations."

Misaki stared at the bowl and sake and a smile played across her face.

"If you think about it, They should just rename Kyushu to planet Rice. They produce rice and rice drinks. All food that is halfway decent is made from rice. You eat it, you drink it."

She took a sip from the sake.

Both pilots sit in silence and enjoy the food and drink in front of them. Halpert's messiness leaves something to be desired, as his half-eaten bowl is placed on the table.

"Well, for what it's worth, I believe that you're fighting for a just cause. Sounds like Kusari could use some reform. Is there anything I could to do potentially help? All I got is my Kali-Class fighter, the one you saw in space when we met. I'm afraid my cartography is all I can offer, unless you got something else in mind."

"If I remember correctly, your fighter didn't even have guns. And while I believe you can handle yourself, the pirate life is obviously not for you. So I suggest alternate ideas."

She scratched her forehead before resuming.

"So what where you doing to those ships earlier? Are you building something here?"

RE: Matsuda's Legacy - Starfliers - 01-29-2022

"In case more pilots sign up under us, we're preparing ships for them to use. The techs are removing the weapon mounts from transports and light fighters like my own. Installing different engine blocks, configuring transponders, Leon calls it the Starflier Treatment."

Halpert hastily eats more of his rice, followed by a large gulp of sake.

"Nothing interesting or exciting. Why do you ask?"

RE: Matsuda's Legacy - Megaera - 02-05-2022

Misaki looked at Halpert eating and drank some of her own sake.

"Why are you people so determined to have no defences? I mean I get the pacifist approach, but I don't think nomads and whatever else might lurk out there would care whether you are armed or not. Don't you want to have at least some precautions?"

"And bout the questions about the shipworks you got going on here. I was just curious. I barely even know what your organisation is doing. You chose to set up shop in a rather inhospitable environment, fly around with no guns, and invite random people over. That does make me wonder about the nature of the starflyers."

She shrugged.

"You are just abit unusual."

RE: Matsuda's Legacy - Starfliers - 02-08-2022

"Leon thinks if we arm ourselves it will lead to unwanted trouble. I do see his point, but space is hostile. We have survived this long living in Kepler and flying around without weapons. The only ship I have is Pulsar... once I buy a ship that's mine, I'll be throwing armaments on it."

Halpert looks directly at Misaki, intently, as if he was offended.

"Our nature isn't a deceptive one. What we do is pretty simple when I say it like this: We explore, we research, we sell the info. As for me, I'm wanting to learn more about our Sirian residents. Hence why I invited you out here. Yes, it's random, but it's only to fulfil my personal goals."

RE: Matsuda's Legacy - Megaera - 02-14-2022

"Oh well. Curiosity is always a good thing. It is what brought me here aswell. When you get your own ship, you should try out a starflier. It is a nimble little thing and fun to fly. I obtained mine in Liberty. We refer to them as cardifleas. If anything you can fly away quickly when things get hot."

"so what do you think about us so far?"

RE: Matsuda's Legacy - Starfliers - 02-15-2022

"Before I got the job with the Starfliers I was flying a Starflier-Class ship. Got it upgraded to what I have now, the Kali-Class Border Worlds ship. Leon thought it was a little too on the nose, though after your suggestion I might buy one for myself."

Halpert sits quietly after being asked... mulling it over.

"I can respect what the golden girls fight against. Might not see all of what happens with the women within Kusari society, but this meeting has opened my eyes to it. Made me aware. Earlier when I said I don't support the means, that's still the case, though I do support your goal. I don't consider you hostile to me or the Starfliers as a whole, which I think is a good sign. Wouldn't mind meeting the others from the Golden Girls. That's about it."

RE: Matsuda's Legacy - Megaera - 02-19-2022

"Well. I honestly don't completely support your non violence policy either. It seems abit naieve to my eyes. Then again, its just what I am used to."

Misaki considered his words.

"There is no reason for us to be hostile. GC has alot of interesting people to meet. Like one of them really likes spiders. We both share the nickname 'Kumo'. Maybe this remoted place is creepy enough to be interesting for her to visit."
