I think you can keep the "cure"-thing, just don't state it on system comms in alpha or you might get trouble, no one should chase you for it being written down in your personal diary or the log of a befriended researcher. Well, except he talks too much of course.

great idea. i do think that you should use a dromedary.

The three new research principles you gave look much better. Very worthy goals for a scientist and all Outcasts should support you in this.

Well, the first one would bring about some resistance, I would think. At least from the biggest most powerful families. After all, once this technology exists, then cardi production would likely explode, and the smaller families would get a chance to grab a bigger piece of the cardi pie, especially if they got their hands on the tech first. And then there's the issue of: what if the Outcast allies get this tech, and start growing their own cardi? Outcast exports would slow down, and they would make less money.

But on the flip side, you REALLY don't want cardi production only possible on one planet, or else you are very vulnerable to disaster.

And where's Cryer in all of this, hmm?

So it's a nice "damned if you do, damned if you don't" kind of scenario. Lots of potential for intrigue and infighting, especially since my scientist is sponsored by some of these small families.

Ayem ibn Sina is a polymath with interest in research, and was scarred by his dependence on Cardamine when he went through pseudo-withdrawal. His experience only strengthened his conviction that Cardamine was the right path for the Outcasts though. He is also politically pro-Spirit/nomad, so any research involving the bodies of the nomads (which would, incidentally, give the best results in any research on Cardamine because it was made for them) would result in him mobilizing the ibn Sina family to have you executed.

He would not, however, go at you guns blazing for researching Cardamine and would probably collude with you within limitations. For example, improving or heightening the effects of Cardamine would be one possible aim. For these purposes he would direct some funds from the ibn Sina vaults to the researcher in question.

As one of the posters mentioned, the dromedary would help you fit in, but personally I used the Rheinland Pirate Cruiser as Ayem's research vessel. That was a more exploratory vessel though, as it breached the quarantine of the Nomad worlds and Wilde territory. It has a wonderful antennae array that I just fell in love with.
