RE: Relaxation in Death - BobMacaroni - 05-19-2022 Juan Harabero laughed. "Do not worry, do not worry. It has been a while since I have used my Sabre, however I should still remember how to fly it." The tension in the room was too high, and Juan decided to defuse it. If they were to be on mission together, then it should not be in fear. "Do not be afraid of the security detail, they are there for your benefit." Juan glanced around, not sure if they understood, but would move on regardless. Perhaps they should order some drinks? However, if what Cruz said was to be believed, they might want to get a move on. "Well, is there anything else to be said? I can order us some drinks before lift-off, if you want. Unless Senor Rosario has something to say?" RE: Relaxation in Death - Wolverine518 - 05-19-2022 Fighters, you say? Well good thing I came prepared. Santiago though long and hard about it. I really could use a drink before we set sail, as it were. RE: Relaxation in Death - WiseTaurus - 05-19-2022 Alberto remained calmed after Harabero’s apparent friendlier response. Considering the thirsty desires of his companions, Cruz tried to get focus on what became relevant: “I already ate and drank some, I’ll pass. Also, I don’t think that we can delay it any further. Just carry some drinks from a stand nearby and let’s go quickly. See you in space, hermanos!” Without wasting any more time, Cruz left the members and moved to the hangar bay, while re-checking what was written in the comm-pad. A new ship for himself? He did not expect such appreciation from the organization towards him, perhaps he did not pay the clear amount of attention to their brethren, after all. Searching for the right hangar bay, he found it: A pristine and new Carabela fighter, Conquistador series. Alberto read the registration protocols before entering the bay and the console on the wall confirmed it, he was the owner of the ship. Cruz felt humbled but also worried about what this gift would entail. Maybe Alpha Command was expecting more from him, higher responsibilities in the future, besides the current one. He was not a combatant person; he approved the corresponding courses and he knows how to control a ship of this type, as any Outcast that dares to go beyond the boundaries of the planet; but he expected to maintain his current job as transporter for a long time. The sudden change of circumstances gave him hope and despair on the same time, as he felt impotent for the new mandatory path towards danger, even if he was making progress in Malta Hyperspace Starfleet. Hesitating to enter the cockpit carelessly, he contemplated the ship one more time, circling around it. The silhouette of the vessel was remarked by the lights and Cruz checked every external component for any “structural discrepancy”. No marks or scratches of any type, only the shiny Maltese symbols stand out in comparison to the dark and dingy look. Alone and ready to start, Cruz suited up and occupied the pilot’s seat. A sensation that remained hidden for a long time emerged, as the docking bay doors opened, as the adventure called. Fueled by adrenaline and apprehension, Alberto Cruz pushed forward into the green nebula, waiting for the rest to come. RE: Relaxation in Death - BobMacaroni - 05-20-2022 As the meeting had been adjourned, the guards reassembled around Juan. As he moved over to his designated ship, he saw watched a scene unfold on the main floor. All people from all around of different origins. A multitude of civilians, going about life. Businessmen, engineers constructing things, and so on. Juan decided to keep walking, best not to get distracted. The ship had been pre-checked for anything that could disrupt the ship on course, and it had passed. A "Z" series Sabre sat before Juan, it almost looked majestic to him, with its massive turrets, extinguished engine, and metallic hull. One of Juan's engineers walked over to him. "Senor, pre-course checks have been completed and the ship is ready for liftoff." "Bueno, bueno, adios, hermanos. I will meet you back here once I have finished." Well, this was it. Juan activated the ship and the engine flared to life, and all the systems came online. He wondered if Senor Cruz was already in space, and if Senor Rosario was as well. The Sabre's automated landing system reversed as the hanger doors to Corsica opened. Juan crossed the border into open space, and finally the weapons activated as well. Now, Juan Harabero would soon meet them in the Omicron Beta system. RE: Relaxation in Death - Wolverine518 - 05-20-2022 Santiago launched his ship as well as all his systems came online. He hoped this trip would be simple. Life told him, however, that not all was as it seemed. RE: Relaxation in Death - WiseTaurus - 05-22-2022 Omicron Beta
The gravimetric anomaly collapsed as usual; Cruz arrived to his destination. The panoramic view was a predictable one: Green clouds surround the area, odd-shape looking asteroids all around and multiple signs of microscopic organisms in the middle of them. For the Houses citizens, this would have been a complete odyssey to traverse, but for an Outcast was just an ordinary day like many others, in the misty fog where another problem needs to be solved. Alberto followed the standard procedures to the letter, checking for further unusual contacts; as the system provides a good cover for anyone brave enough to make a sudden and unpleasant appearance. Sensors picked nothing particular and Cruz exhaled calmly, knowing that his paranoid attitude was in vain, in this case. As a mostly controlled Outcast system, he knew that eventually would receive some friendly contacts, but for now he was alone. After some minutes, several Maltese fighters and transports came and went, probably carrying valuables for the varied Dons; which conduct secretive business all along this route, from the usual Cardamine network to some of the most bizarre and opulent requests made by the several families. Cruz watched them with indifference, as it is better for him to maintain certain ignorance about such matters; staying out of additional gratuitous problems to himself and to the organization. Alberto Cruz felt cozy on the mysterious visual spectacle of the system, almost too much as he was getting asleep; a sensation of tranquility and solitude in the dense vacuum filled his thoughts. Cruz set the ship on a stand-by position, taking the necessary precautions to evade the collision of the nearest rocks and facing the jump hole where the other Hyperspace members would surely arrive soon. RE: Relaxation in Death - BobMacaroni - 05-23-2022 The colors of Juan Harabero's Sabre glistened against the green field. He had just come through the warp anomaly to the other side, in Omicron Beta. The feeling of going through one of the jump holes was not a pleasant one, but it was unavoidable. Now to find Cruz... "There you are." Juan found Cruz among the asteroids. Now the trip was almost to begin, they just needed Senor Rosario. Juan had to admit, the Conquistador series looked far more beautiful than the old Z series. However, in practicality and function, the reliable Z series was about the best you could get. Juan entered formation with Cruz and prepped his weapons. Anything could happen after all. Juan just hoped he didn't have to use them... RE: Relaxation in Death - Wolverine518 - 05-24-2022 Santiago jumped as well and as he saw the Beta field, he also saw his amigos. "This will be interesting." He has rarely gone to Beta but he hoped that they would find what they were looking for. He formed with the others and prepared himself for a long flight. "Not too long" he had hoped. RE: Relaxation in Death - WiseTaurus - 05-27-2022 Completely oblivious to what happened, Cruz jumped from his pilot seat, after he received the call of Juan Harabero. He looked as Santiago Rosario formed near him and Alberto tried to mumble something: “I am so sorry; I just woke up! Please, do not report this to Alpha Command!” Nervousness crashed into him, as his carelessness could have been his death in other circumstances. Dangers lurk in Beta constantly; if it was not an ambush it could have been an asteroid. Cruz tried to recompose with the following: “Well…ok. This is embarrassing. In any case, I think we should concentrate ourselves on the mission, no? What do you think it should be our next destination? I know that we could go directly to the last point of transmission, but we could also visit Ruiz base to see if anyone knows what happened in more detail. It is your choice.” Alberto Cruz as a Wanderer, the lowest rank in the organization, he does not have full capabilities to take the lead on this situation; and he tried to emphasize this to the others, who surpassed him. Waiting for a confirmation, he rubbed his hands on his sleepy face, trying to be alert to what it is to come. RE: Relaxation in Death - BobMacaroni - 05-28-2022 Juan started laughing. Cruz must have been a rookie, they are always too formal. "Report it to alpha command" He mimicked. "Ha! Don't worry, hermano. We will make sure this does not reach the top." The trio's cruise engines seared across the nebulae of Omicron Beta. "The whereabouts are around the Alien gate, right? I suggest we head to Ruiz for more information. Santiago? Thoughts?" Juan Harabero hoped that the transmission would not go cold, else they would need to rely off of memory and a lot of searching. And those were things he did not want to rely off of. Now, Juan waited for the response of the other two. |
