RE: Forsaken - Implosion - 03-02-2023

Hackett waited for Lea to look away from him and nodded to his XO, obviously giving him a signal to do something. The man nodded his head in return and occupied himself with the buttons of a nearby console. Naturally, mere seconds later, an alarm sounded. The intercom screamed to life:

"Defcon 1, repeat, Defcon 1. We're under attack! Hull breached at sublevel C - Storage"

Hackett straightened his uniform and in turn, yelled himself.

"This ain't no drill, boys and girls! We're being boarded! I want a response team on it right now!" -He turned towards the Rheinlander- "We're a bit short on manpower as it is, would you please do me a favor and investigate? I'm sure it's just a bunch of pesky insurgents, must've gotten onboard while we were at Barbados. Shouldn't be a problem for you, no?
Join the "Team Bravo" and help them secure the area."

Hackett nodded his head at the three marines standing by the door. While heavily armed, they were lightly armored, as it would be expected from a naval marine operating in tight corridors. One was armed with a plasma shotgun, while the other two had standard issue laser pistols.

The sudden alarm made Lea Kaufman having a scare. She was highly confused in the beginning of the event. When Hackett told to the woman what was happening, her focus returned and her cold blood returned as well. She accepted to help the crew and to investigate what was happening. The captain told her to join the team Bravo to secure the area. She was not armed but we gave her a pistol.

The team left the bridge and moved slowly aiming to any direction that the intruder might come. Lea was in the middle of the group. She kept her cold blood. This time, instead shooting on targets, she might shoot on real people. Was she ready? Maybe. She really wanted to be paid for this additional job.

RE: Forsaken - Implosion - 03-03-2023

Bravo team and Lea entered the storage area at sublevel C. There weren't any hull breaches or signs of boarding. The hull was intact and the cargo was stacked neatly. Interestingly, the cargo itself wasn't what one would expect. Instead of crates full of supplies and ammo, the hold was full of self-contained stasis chambers. Most of them were occupied, except for one. It was located at the far side of sublevel "C" and the word "MANUAL OVERRIDE" could be read on the screen.

Suddenly, the marines stopped in place, their leader was receiving orders through his earpiece. He kept replying with "Yes sir!" and "Understood." When his briefing was finished, he nodded towards Lea and the marines aimed their weapons at her.

"End of the line for you, lady. You should've kept your nose out of our business."

The passage of time suddenly slowed down to almost a halt, their fingers were slowly, but surely, on their way to a complete trigger pull. And then boom. But the guns didn't fire. The sound came from a maintenance panel, exploding in the distance. The lights went out. Two blue eyes crossed the room at inhuman speeds. The lights on the marines' armored vests were flickering in the dark like fireflies, as their owners were tossed around the compartement. The two blue eyes systematically went from one marine to another. There were gunshots, but not many. There wasn't enough time. In less than thirty seconds, everything was over. The silence, and darkness, were both broken by a flare going off, a few meters from Kaufman. The room was once again illuminated, albeit dimly so. The person holding the flare was no other than the Guildmaster himself. He was wearning only a pair of stasis pants, with the rest of suit missing. He was visually unshaken and unscratched by the events that had just transpired.

"Hello, Ms. Kaufman and welcome to hell." -He paused for dramatic effect-"While you compose yourself, would you mind turning around? I want to get his damn suit off and it seems like this guy here is the same size at me."

Daniels kicked the lifeless body, as if he wasn't sure enough the marine is already as dead as he can be.

"I doubt he'll be needing his stuff anymore, don't you think? What's it called...ah yes, legitimate salvage."

He quickly slipped on the jeans and navy shirt, strapped the armored vest around his chest and took the marine's gun.

"Not an APM Atomizer, but I guess this primitive laser pistol would do. Now then, I assume you have lots of questions and this is starting to look like a monologue, so please, use your words Lea."

The group were making its way to the sublevel C. Since their depart from the bridge, Lea Kaufman found strange to see nothing unusual but she still stayed in formation aiming in case there was an enemy. Finally arrived, at the storage area, it was not full of ammo or supplies but self-contained stasis chambers. It was strange for Lea. However, since she did not really visited any battleship that far, it was a mix of confusion. Then, the group stopped moving but the woman was still inspecting the area. The leader of the group was in contact with someone so she did not pay attention. She thought he was talking with the captain.

After some minutes, the group aimed Lea and the leader broke the silence. "End of the line for you, lady. You should've kept your nose out of our business." As soon as he said this, Lea turned around to face him. Confusion was read on her face. Outgunned, the blond haired woman backed off slowly and dropped the pistol. Unable to say anything due of the silent panic, she inhaled fast. Her cold blood was running out. The time was slow. They were about to shoot when suddenly, an explosion spread confusion and soon enough, gunshots. The soldiers were going down but Lea was spared. After being all dead, a man appeared before her. The woman knew the man. After realization who he was, the man said to Lea to turn around and when he finally equiped himself, Lea looked at him. She was frustrated but happy that she found him.

''Jack!'' She started swearing in her native language. After being calmed down a bit, she continued to speak again. ''Where the hell were you?? The guildkeeper told me you vanished when I wanted to see you!! And... She showed the corps. ''What does it mean? Why are you here?

RE: Forsaken - Implosion - 03-03-2023

Daniels was adjusting his vest while the woman barraged him with a flurry of various swear words. He was rather impressed with the variety of her insults. He politely waited for Lea to finish.

"Well, it's rather simple. Or well, somewhat simple. You see, I lead an expedition to Vespucci, incognito, of course. We were supplied intel by one of our connections there. That connection being Hackett. He said he's captured a few infectees for us. So naturally, I hopped on an APM ship and flew there myself. I was bored sitting behind a desk so I figured some action in the field wouldn't do anyone any harm. When we finally arrived, there was an issue. Hackett had no infectees. He was the infectee. My squad got wiped, I got hit by several high powered EMPs and my implants were disabled. Hackett's men made the mistake of putting me in stasis though. It was just a matter of time for me to escape the pod. The real problem is, well...see for yourself."

Daniels nodded his head at the nearby illuminator. The scenery outside was different. They weren't in Cortez anymore. The Black nebula outside was a dead giveaway of that.

"If I am correct, and I have no reason to believe I'm not, we're in Virginia and on our way towards Omicron Nu. And we both know who lives in the Omicrons and what they want to do with humans. So, here's the plan. We need to get to your ship, you have your ship, right? Right. Now, I know what you're thinking, but we can't just launch and run away. No, they'll shoot us down faster than I call kill a trio of goons."

The man kicked the lifeless marine once more, this time out of pure spite and disrespect.

"No. I'm guessing whoever sent you here, gave you a direct line to them, we'll call in the fleet. Every goddamned fleet I have on alert. Two of them are hyperspace-capable and will be on location within twenty minutes. The rest will arrive within an hour. After that, we'll just need to wait for Core marines to board this ship, link up with them and assault Hackett. I want his infected ass burned, chopped, shot and spaced. In that order. Unfortunately, I was pretty much out cold when I was brought on this Overlord and I don't know it's layout. But I'm assuming you walked around, went sightseeing and such. So here's the plan. Grab a gun and lead us to your ship. I'll tag along and murder anyone who gets in our way, silently and from the shadows. It's entirely up to you to get us to that hangar. Chop chop Lea. Lots of cash riding on your success."

The Rheinlander listened carefuly Jack Daniels explaining why he was there. All the questions she had were slowly answered. Althought, she was concerned knowing that Hackett was an infected, people controlled by nomads. The simple thought gave chills to the woman. When Jack revealed it was only her the unique 'hope' to escape this battleship, her shoulders began heavy but she was determined to be rewarded accordingly.

''Ja, my Odin is onboard, in the hangar.'' As she was speaking, she grabbed the pistol she dropped earlier and continued what she wanted to say. ''I will brought us to the hangar and I'm counting on you to reward me accordingly, Jack. Once we will be back at Yaren or wherever we will be, I'll have some words to say.'' Once he nodded, Lea led the way to the hangar. Currently at the sublevel C, it will take a moment before they reached the ship. Caution was needed now. Aiming before her and walking slowly, Lea made sure to not make any noise. At any moment, she'll need to shoot on a possible infected soldier.

As she walked further, the woman took the same way as she took earlier with the eliminated group of soldiers. She let a sentence out of her mouth, whispering. ''I can't believe they were about to shoot on me...''

RE: Forsaken - Implosion - 03-04-2023

"Of course they would shoot you. I mean, they weren't infected, obviously, but they were following their orders. You know how it is in the military. Anyways, taking them out was too easy. Fighting infected on the other hand is much harder. But hey, I'm pretty confident there aren't many of them on this ship. It must be Hackett and a few others. Or atleast I hope so, otherwise we'll be in line for a trip to a destination frakked."

Daniels wasn't very worried about the trip to the hangar. He was much more concerned about the garrison that would be waiting for them when they arrived. He decided not to mention it to Lea.

"So anyways, how did you get here? And how much longer to this damned hangar bay?"

''I came because Hackett brought me here because I Scarlet told me it was the contact who might know where you were. And we might be in the hangar in ten minutes if everything goes right for us.'' They were both slowly reaching the next level. Lea opened the march, looked to the right and left and again right before to turn at her left. There was no enemy on sight. It was almost too calm. She had a bad feeling.

She was aiming toward her. Then, an opening door sound made the Rheinlander to stay still. She aimed toward the origin of the sound. She did some signs with her free hand to Jack that someone might come.

RE: Forsaken - Implosion - 03-04-2023

Daniels paused for a second and his eyes lit up bright blue. He stormed passed Lea with the same inhuman speed that he displayed in the storage area. He ran around the corner and straight into two heavily armed marines. Before they knew what's what, he had already snapped the neck of the first one. The second marine managed to fire a single shot, which was absorbed by Jack's vest, before the Guildmaster double tapped him in the chest. The marine was stunned, but not even wounded.

"Man, these lasers pistols are really shit, eh?" -Said Daniels, while breaking the neck of the second marine. "How many necks do I have to snap today before I find a somewhat decent sidearm."

He stood up, adjusted his vest and called for Lea.

"Come on then, it's clear now. Mind your step, there is trash on the floor."

He patiently waited for Kaufman to catch up.

"So, Scarlet sent you? Clever girl, that one. I always wondered what I would do if something ever happened to her. Anyways, I digress. Let us continue, yes? After you."

Lea saw nothing going on but she was impressed by the speed of the guildmaster. Just big eyes from her meant everything. She was ridiculousely outmatched in efficiency. After Jack handled the two soldiers, she reached him. ''I am glad to not be your enemy, Jack. I'm really speechless about this...'' As soon as she finished her sentence, she opened the march again, they continued their way the took before and reached to the next sublevel. They were near of the hangar.

As previously, Lea looked at her right, left and then right again. Nobody. She turned to the right still aiming toward her. ''We are almost there.'' When she turned to the left, it was the hangar and shots occured. By chance, she managed to hide behind a wall. She shouted one word. ''Sh*t!'' It was a group of six soldiers.
