The Story Jam - The Community Vote

OVERVIEW

The community vote has begun! Voting will finish on Monday 18th of September giving you all a good chance to read and cast your votes. Once the votes have closed the winners will be announced shortly after. Voting is very easy. All you need to do is vote on the first page using the poll that is live now. Just like last time participants may win both the Judges and Community rewards.

Good luck to everyone!

Please do note vote more then once on alternative forum accounts. If that is found to be true then all of your votes will be removed. Participants should not vote for yourselves but if you wish to vote for someone else then you may.

Looks like the winner of the community voting is clear.

like in any contest, even real life one, the winner may not be the best, with all respect to those who wrote it, but simply the one with most votes and if you have buddies ... you may get some real extra votes, not saying this is the case but we all know how this competitions work. actually my vote was to another story, just because i like it more than the others.

I believe that strict anonymous submission rules for the next contest will be most helpful. This will make the whole event more fun and engaging as well as nearly completely remove the influence of interpersonal relationships while adding the guessing game as another little competition. With its own little prize, maybe.
As a side note, a community vote for a Golden Raspberry award is fun as well. As long as it's held before the announcement of previously anonymous authors and winners, of course.

RE: The Second Story Jam - Submissions Thread - Sombs - 09-15-2023

... that would only work with a bigger community, because the moment the anonymous submission gets posted, anyone can just tell their friends what their submission is.

This worked in a way smaller community with strict rules about anonymity. I guess if staff will opt not to trust people nor check if things are fishy themselves... Oh well.
Then again in that community the friend group warfare kind of died with time.

The community vote is just for fun anyways - rewards way lower than judges. Last time 0 community vote winners got judge vote.

I hope that Judges won't do that on purpose though Big Grin
