RE: Dismal stats = BIG PROBLEM - StellarViss - 11-21-2023 The mining change in this patch restructured the whole pob economy that existed before most of the currently active pobs are those that produce equipment or refine ore. A lot of the now decaying ones are doing so as they lost the purpose that made there owners work them. Equipment especially the cloaking and jump drives have been made more harder and expensive to get with the Uncharted/Earhart materials and this is without mentioning the code weapon/equipment crafting. The price on those materials required are steep especially the capital ship guns. That also contributed to the number of abandoned pobs. As for the ones decaying in House space the Governments can destroy them if they want. In my opinion this is a improvement especially the distance from npc bases. Maybe if they reduce their numbers to 1 it would cut the decayed amount of bases. I agree with you on this one, but what you also need to realize is that DTR go out of there way to maintain their PoBs and to make sure they have the correct materials so they dont decaye, they're a prime example of what every faction should be doing as fair as a faction stand point. Limiting the amount of PoB's one faction can place or have in a system would give PoBs a bigger thought process on what to make and where, PoBs making important equipment like cloaks, jumpdrives and such will mostly always be made in a factions home system, and other production PoBs in neighbouring systems that aren't as high of a priority, this will most likely also give barges more use as mobile storage platforms. RE: Dismal stats = BIG PROBLEM - Czechmate - 11-21-2023 I guess I am stupid, but the new PoBs seem overcomplicated, and expensive to run, I still don't even understand hydroponics bay, had to ask 7 times what the commands are and lost 15% of HP because of a mistake. This is before I figure out what they are even used for properly - it's confusing now that refined stuff on NPC bases is a thing. TL;DR - am I the only one still confused about PoBs and econ around PoBs, routes, and commands? if you are a new player who came in after the patch, is this straightforward to you? RE: Dismal stats = BIG PROBLEM - Demonic - 11-21-2023 I mean... it sounds clear as day to me. So far my faction and I have build up a core 3 base in about 14 days or so and all the commands and recipies etc seem simple enough to me. Especialy now, with The Kusari's guide everything is clear, simple and in one place. I don't see anything complicated or particlary expensive there, though I may be not the best one to gauge expensivness, given my addiction to trading. PM me on discord if you need help with anything around PoBs, I should be able to explain it... and not only in english RE: Dismal stats = BIG PROBLEM - Redline.Inc - 11-21-2023 And now the unlawfuls are dog piling POBs with dozens of ships exactly as I thought that they would once the POB Holiday ended, making even having POB's pointless. The seal-clubbers will be coddled, the vibrancy of the community greatly diminished and mod death occurs when even the unlawfuls don't log anymore once they're the only ones left with zero fun to be had since there's no one to gank. This is no longer an RP server with PvP, it's tragically a mandatory PvP server with only superficial obligatory RP. RE: Dismal stats = BIG PROBLEM - [Renegade] - 11-21-2023 Camping outside the POB and not really giving the defenders any sort of chance aswell is not good gameplay in my opinion. But I suppose that is just the general way that Disco is now. Seal Club the players who want to make things work just for their kicks. RE: Dismal stats = BIG PROBLEM - Wildkins - 11-21-2023 i would not be shocked if you went back 5 years and the amount of bases decaying was the same RE: Dismal stats = BIG PROBLEM - Redline.Inc - 11-21-2023 (11-21-2023, 08:39 PM)[Renegade] Wrote: Camping outside the POB and not really giving the defenders any sort of chance aswell is not good gameplay in my opinion. Not surprising given that the seal clubbers and the Devs are in part the same people. Devs kowtowing to their unlawful friends has been the beginning of the end for several mods before this one. Excelsia and Asgard come to mind. The reality will kick in here soon enough. Inevitably, next will come the in-game repercussions for forum posts and/or the plain removal of disallowed forum speech, then RIP. RE: Dismal stats = BIG PROBLEM - Couden - 11-21-2023 Why do I see same attitude from PoBers every single time some base is going to be destroyed? RE: Dismal stats = BIG PROBLEM - DSE- - 11-21-2023 (11-21-2023, 08:35 PM)Redline.Inc Wrote: I totally endorse this. DSE- Is a transport operation by default. There is nothing worthwhile in the game to do. My barge has been effectively castrated out of the game, and NO DEV IS HAVING THE GUTS TO TELL THE COMMUNITY WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING THIS TO BARGES FOR??? It's a **** UP! |
