Only once during the course of at least 300 hitboxes we tested did it happen that hits register and didn't do damage. That was when a custom made hitbox for one ship (Black Dragon) was used on another ship (GC VHF) without any changes to the file.
In all the other cases the hits either register and do damage, or simply fly trough.

That's lag on either yours, server or his side.

A few days back I fought an Osiris (Eternal) in my Mako. I fired a mortar in its face, no damage.
turned out I hit its battlerazor. so it DOES happen that you have the lousy luck of hitting a hardpoint, causing no damage to the rest of the hull. it`s no glitch, just bad luck in some cases.

Also, do Nova Torpedos do any damage? I've been hit by them several times recently and I haven't taken any damage once.

were your shields down? If not, try firing the torp from different directions. Usually at least dents the shield if fired from the front.
