dont advertise discovery. the more you advertise it, the more people will come and take <strike>my</strike> slots on the server.

Does this happen often? I don't ever recall seeing a thread or post as long as I've been here that puts down another mod.

Not really, unless you can pick the few snide comments about a mod. They are usually made off-hand, so non-one notices.

I understand that you're saying it's okay to bash other mods and servers because we have the largest playerbase, Patriot. I hope I'm mistaken, because that is an utterly horrible attitude to adopt. You're not even giving other communities a chance with that statement =\

Their are populated servers out their. Not as heavily populated as Discovery but still a fair amount.
Including some BSG servers and Hamburg City.

I always wondered why Discovery had the reputation of elitist snobs in other communities.

One of the reasons why many people outside Discovery do have a bad impression on our community.

There are many large servers with a large playerbase. Yes, right now Discovery is on top of the rating, but what should this mean? That others don't exist?

We started as a small server, and our way to the top lasted for years. Saying things like, other servers are dead, means saying that Discovery was also dead 2 or 3 years ago. Be careful about words.

It's also absolutely not important what other communities, community leaders etc. say about us. They may think and say what they want to. Our goal is not to participate in politics or flame wars, we're a gaming community and intended to keep it that way. We should set a good example for (commonplace, as it might seem) things like fairness, politeness, friendly attitude and respect.

So, remember, when you are posting in Discovery-related threads on other forums, by your actions people will judge the community as a whole.

Sir Igiss, I understand what you say and wholeheartedly agree. We should be showing ourselves above petty squabbles and be a bastion of goodwill and friendliness. If we can't say anything good about someone, we shouldn't say it. Whatever people say about us, they have a right to do so. We should be able to look back at them with a smile and carry on with our jolly lives.
