Kameraden.

Schønning here.

Following up on the intelligence provided by The Platform, a deployment of a Grendel-class frigate Skald was ordered to Alsterfeld from Kreuzberg in a bid to intercept incoming convoy with decomissioned equipment. The intel proven correct and LV-Hrimfaxi, a Marinenachrichtendiensts "Uruz" transport appeared at the anomaly just at the time Bundschuh suggested, and the cargo matched the manifests provided by the sympathetic group.

My suspicion were correct, and, even compromised and outgunned, my former colleagues were not willing to simply surrender the cargo and a short but fierce firegiht ensued that changed the agents' opinion to the opposite, with common sense and the need for preservation of an asset prevailed over the non-compromising stance, forcing them to jettison the cargo and retreat back through the anomaly. Though successful with the interdiction strike, Skald wasn't out of the immediate danger as combat left her battered, and vicinity to Alster promised potential military interceptors deployed to finish what the Hrimfaxi started. The retreat was plotted over a predictable route with a stop for field repairs and resupply at Kreuzberg depot before continuing to Wolfsburg with fighter escort. Dresden anomaly in Saarfeld brought them close to extraction point, and a short breach of minefield after moored at their destination.

I have come down to the landing pad to inspect the interdicted cargo myself. Two 90-ARKM-N9 "Valkyrie" hulls with R4-n "Stealthblade" tachyon cannons - in turret and regular mounts - in individual, hermetically sealed crates, ones we should have no trouble cracking open.

As I'm not qualified enough to aseemble a Valkyrie together, I'll be requesting a team of engineers from Saverne to assist with this task, and a steady supply of spare parts for further maintenance of these ships. I'll report once there is progress, and the ships are brought to flying condition. I will reach out to Bundschuh and see if they're willing to further lend us a hand.

Kameraden.

Schønning here.

I've returned from my abrupt leave to Saverne base - herr Ralf Lobgesang, the engineer that have answered my request to bring two 90-ARKM-N9 to working condition, have called on me for final evaluation of ships he deemed fit for flight. Both fighters have seen their power plants replaced with modified reactors comparible with lawful technology and electronics, meeting my demand. With project complete, both superiority fighters are loaded on Skald - a ship that first acquired the vessels and returned with these to Vogtland.

I will be arriving to Dresden in several hours since sending this message, maintaining radio silence until safe arrival. If you may, kameraden - deploy a designated wing to Dresden anomaly in Stuttgart to be the welcome party; for Skald, and for any undesirable followers.

Einen guten Tag an alle Kameraden.

Lieutenant Lahr reporting in, here to inform you there have been several jump hole realignments of great consequence. First, The Omega-11 ~ Omega-41 connection has been severed, regular patrols between Freital and Zuschen have already been rerouted through Omega-5. Suffice to say this will be a double edged sword, not only making the system even more of a bottleneck but also slowing response time from Freital. On the upside, the Corsairs no longer have easy access to Omega-11.

Furthermore, Zuschen reports that our transports bound for Omega-52 had to turn back as the jump hole in the system has entered early gravitational collapse. All trade with the Coalition will have to be redirected though Omega-48.

There are also good news, our patrols have identified a new unstable connection from Omega-48 in sektor 7C/D. The exit has been confirmed to be the Dublin system, just 70 klicks away from Arranmore.

All of the visuals are attached.

Our hearts to the Revolution, Aus.

Subject: Ronneburg Defense Report
Date: 12/10/834 A.S.

Einen guten Tag an alle Kameraden.

Patrols were suggestive of a Corsair Build Up in Omega 5. As per orders, I took command of the R\-Verlnoferin and rendezvoused with Colonel Jorg Frei on R\-Valgaldr and the rest of the fleet at Ronneburg, Omega-5.

Our Fleet consisted of
R\-Valgaldr - "Hel" Class Command Cruiser
R\-Hessen - "Jormungand" Flagship
R\-Heidenau - "Jormungand" Support Battleship
R\-Verlnoferin - "Vidar" Cruiser commanded by me
R\-Baldr - another "Vidar" Cruiser
R\-Saxifrage - "Mantis" Class Gunboat

We were joined by two elite fighter vessels from Rote Hessen Armee:- [RHA]SOA-Voror and [RHA]Ylva.Runarsdottir
as well as 'Rasmus' "Bustard" Carrier, RHC-Sleipnir "Vidar" Cruiser and RHGB-Spitzhhacke "Condor" Gunboat from Hessen Secondary Fleet.

To Our Surprise we were also joined by the Republican Provisional Assembly and the Mollys. They had tracked down some suspicious activity in the system and wanted to lend a hand. Their fleet were RPA|PRW-Noblesse.Oblige "Bustard" Carrier, RPA|PRW-Manann "Scylla" Destroyer and Four Fighter Vessels - RPA|Banshee-1, RPA|Banshee-6, Wishbone and Neil.McLoughlin

Looking at our allied fleet, I was confidant that we will be able to defend against whatever threat we may face, until I saw what we were up against. Barely 15k away at Sector F6, stood a massive Corsair Fleet. They were so numerous that my scanner was glitched and frozen until it was rebooted.
Further more, a fleet of Bretonian Armed Forces was lurking around towards sector D4.

This was much more than we anticipated. The chances of success were low. But we held the line.
As the battle ensued, initially we were able to focus down a "Legate" as the big lumbering giant struggled to maneuver through the asteroids. However the Rasmus "Bustard" was lost due to overwhelming fire. We tried to outmaneuver the Corsairs, but they were simply outnumerous. They laid heavy fire and R\-Hessen was disabled. We were forced to switch tactics and improvise if we were to even survive this battle. We took advantage of the distraction that the Bretonians had caused and started to flank the Corsairs and disable a few of their ships.

The battle was chaotic as it went back and forth between the Corsairs, Bretonians and Our Alliance.
All three fleets had lost substantial numbers. Even the Colonel's ship was disabled and surrounded by Corsairs. R\-Heidenau had taken critical damage but managed to retreat back to Ronneburg in one piece.

We were down to 3 cruisers, which includes my ship, R\-Baldr and CIS|-CPW-Vuk; a "Typhoon" Cruiser from the Coalition of Independent Sirius that had joined us in the midst of the battle along with R\-Saxifrage and 2 Rote Hessen Armme fighters and 3 Molly fighters. We had used the Bretonians as bait. We did return fire when they shot at us, but didn't prioritize to neutralize them till the Corsair threat was overwhelmingly intact. Until they tried to isolate and focus down R\-Baldr. It was their undoing as we quickly focused them and destroyed whatever was left of the Bretonian Armed Forces. However we were rushed on by what remained of the Corsairs, 2 Battlecruisers and a Cruiser. The "Typhoon" and R\-Saxifrage were disabled.
We proceeded to distract the two Battlecruisers while R\-Baldr and the fighters took down the Corsair Cruiser, and then we picked off the two remaining battlecruisers one by one nullifying the Corsair threat.

As we inspected the wreckages after the battle, we noted the following number of disabled ships
2 "Legate" Class Dreadnoughts
4 "Murmillo" Class Battleships
7 "Tribunus" Class Battlecruisers
4 "Praefect" Class Cruisers
several Corsair Fighters and Bombers
and
1 "Invincible" Class Carrier
1 "Dunkirk" Class Battleship
1 "Overlord" Class Battleship
2 "Fortitude" Class Battlecruisers
1 "Interdictor" Class Battlecruiser
1 "Archer" Class Siege Cruiser
several Bretonian Fighters

It was a staggering victory, but it came at a heavy price considering we don't have the seemingly endless supply of resources and manpower like the Corsairs or Bretonians.
Our disabled ships including our allies :- 1 Battleship, 2 Bustards, 3 Cruisers, 2 Gunboats and 1 Fighter.

Salvage and Rescue Operations were commenced. Most of the crew and the commanding officer of all Rotfront Ships including the Colonel were safely recovered and transported to Ronneburg for Medical Care. We personally assisted the salvage operations of Mollys and the Sirius Coalition. Surrounding area was scanned for any evidence of remaining or escaping Corsairs/Bretonians but none were found.

The Audio Log and Battle Footage has been attached with this report.

In view of the Battle, I'd like to put forward the following recommendations.

-We should strengthen the bonds with our allies, The Rote Hessen Armee, The Coalition of Independent Sirius and The Republican Provisional Assembly. Their support was crucial in this battle, we couldn't have stood a chance against these odds without them.
-The Republican Provisional Assembly lost considerable resources in supporting us. We should return the favour and assist them in their goals as much as we can. A strong alliance with them could be very beneficial to us.
-We lacked Battlecruiser class vessels in this scenario. Something that gave our foes a substantial advantage. Yes, the "Bustard" Class Carrier does support Battlecruiser Class weaponry but it's huge size limits it's maneuverability and therefore hinders it's offensive capability. We are need of proper Battlecruisers in our fleet. This only emphasizes that we need to hasten up the Project Iron Bulwark in order to be on par with our enemy.
-Needless to say we need to increase patrols and stay vigilant. We may have won this battle but neither the Corsairs nor the Bretonians are going to sit quietly. They will return sooner or later and we should be ready.

Aus!

Hallo Kameraden,

Today I am ecstatic to report the details of our glorious victory over our Corsair rivals. It was a difficult, but well-fought battle on the part of our pilots, with light losses in comparison to the nearly full-scale destruction of the Corsair fleet. I had captured the entirety of the fray on my ship's guncam, unfortunately an ion storm prematurely ended the battle before the Corsair scum could be fully routed, thus the remainder of the footage was corrupted due to intense interference from the storm. The order of battle follows.

Rotfront forces, including our brothers in arms:
  • R\-Nachzehrer - Jorm-class Medium Battleship
  • RHB-Fossegrimen - Jorm-class Medium Battleship
  • R\-Askeladd - Hurricane-class Battlecruiser
  • R\-Thorkell - Hurricane-class Battlecruiser
  • R\-Rathen - Vidar-class Cruiser
  • CPW-Bao-Zheng - Typhoon-class Destroyer
  • CPW-Dailan - Typhoon-class Destroyer
  • R\-Rotes.Feld - Heimdall-class Gunboat (Our vessel)
  • Gottfried.Drum - Snubcraft
  • [RHA]Birkir.Eriksson - Snubcraft

Enemy forces:
  • Vigar - Legate-class Dreadnought
  • DTR-CNS>Fabricius - Consul-class Battlecruiser
  • C::CNS-Zeus - Consul-class Battlecruiser
  • Black-Bird - Tribunus-class Battlecruiser
  • CNS-Apocalypse - Praefect-class Cruiser
  • DTR-CC>Averof.Cornelius - Praefect-class Cruiser
  • DTR-CNS>Manticore - Imperator-class Gunboat
  • DTR-El^Chihuahua - Snubcraft
  • DTR-ElGatoFurioso - Snubcraft
  • DTR-Alexios_1 - Snubcraft

Short battle narrative

The battle began with our forces evenly matched, a 10 ship versus 10 ship matchup, a surprise as it is highly unlike the Corsairs to not crowd the field with overwhelming numbers. Perhaps their women are tired of sleeping with their defeated husks? Hah. In any case, I felt a clear advantage from the very beginning as our pilots unmatched prowess was on full display. Rarely have I ever been prouder to be aligned with the Rotfront. Our battleships pounded the enemy dreadnought with a flurry of rocket attacks, as well as pressuring the larger Consul-class battlecruisers. The first blood split by the Corsairs, as one of their snubcraft found itself on the wrong end of one of our own's guns one too many times.

Then, It was not long before their Praefect-class vessels started to falter, their hulls bubbling and melting away from the relentless strikes of plasma dispatched by our vessels. As for the Rotes Feld, I had direction for my ship to act as screening for the larger vessels - a duty I had little trouble in carrying out as our snubcraft easily wiped away the enemy snubcraft, even outnumbered. We primarily sought out vessels whose shields had been overloaded, failing that, Cruisers vessels whom had such little hull integrity remaining they had might be but a plank of wood and a paddle in the ocean. We did not score any critical, final hits on any vessel, but we did manage to assist fairly well with harassing the larger enemy vessels, causing chaos and confusion, drawing shots away from our more vulnerable ships. I had also assisted our snubcraft with attempting to destroy the enemy Gunboat, the Manticore. It is a shame this ship escaped into the ion storm. Some of the last vessels to be destroyed were the recently-seen Consul-classes. No doubt we will be seeing more of this admittedly threatening ship in the future.

Post battle commentary & strategic analysis

We had hoped to test our newly built IFRIT type turrets on the Corsairs, as the Rotes Feld had been recently refit with them as our primary heavy armament on Wolfsburg. We had ample opportunity to do so, yet they seem to have underperformed our expectations. We will report back our findings on their performance to the shipwrights and experts at Wolfsburg.

The main threat of the Corsairs in the past had been their fearsome Legate-class Dreadnoughts, whom outmatches our venerable Jorm-class in size, armament and armor. This would seem to be no longer true, as the Corsairs have been employing more and more of the Consul-class battlecruisers into their fleets and raiding parties, leaving the Dreadnoughts to rarer and more selective deployments. It is without a doubt a dangerous class to face, but it is not without its weaknesses as we had found. The Hessians do not possess a ship of a similar caliber, unfortunately, and I believe this will be a significant challenge for us should we not face it quickly. Our dear kameraden in the Coalition had requisitioned us several of their Hurricane-class ships, which are a useful addition to our fleets, but, in the end I feel, are an inadequate stopgap measure for our lack of coverage in this area.

Nonetheless, the battle was an overwhelming victory for our Front, and to our allies, we are forever thankful.

Aus!

Guten Tag, Soldaten!

I'm not going to beat around the bush, Operation Stahlgriff has NOT been a success. Despite our pilots' best efforts, the ship has managed to break the blockade and escape into the Sigmas where our taskforce was hindered by a massive show of reinforcements.

This makes one thing abundantly clear, Sigma-15 is a hotbed of Corsair infestation and it must be eradicated before the Hydra grows another head. The incompetent forces of the Kaiser are yet again failing to show any resolve against the foreign vermin. We must and will take action! There won't be another Penitence in Dresden, they will be stopped before they can enter Rheinland, by our own means. All units assigned to this system will be prohibited in engaging in any sort of piracy or direct collaboration with the Gas Miners Guild to avoid complications. Remember, our goal there is to intercept future cretan incursions.

Now onto the next order of business. With the Corsairs on the run and their cursed flagship gone from Dresden, we can finally secure and resume the mining operations within the Schwefelnebel. I will instruct the Stationleiter of Diamant to proceed with the station's expansion work. It will not only include additional diamond cutting operations and an increase in storage space, but also a secondary module for ship parts assembly.

There is much to be done. Stay vigilant for any remnants of corsair scouts within Dresden and destroy them with great prejudice.

Das ist alles. Für die Hessen Rotfront.
